I love the little slots to dispose of the metal spoons for samples built into the counter. I ended up getting both flavors that we tried, the honey lavender and the wild-foraged berry slab pie (seasonal flavor). They were both creamy and had just the right amount of sweetness. Arrived here at about 9:30 PM on a Sunday night and this place was still getting people lining up. Although every other store inside this outdoor mall was closed they were still open and ready for a late night dessert. Staff was friendly and offered samples despite the long line that was building. I do not get the sense of being rushed as I was receiving. Samples would definitely recommend trying their seasonal flavors, at least sampling. She there with a loved one or significant other, sharing a double scoop in a cup, and adding a waffle cone might be the more affordable way to go as paying for two individual singles will cost you a lot more, if you are the frugal type like me . Would definitely recommend this spot It may be more hectic during the day in primetime shopping hours on the weekends, but late evenings after the other sort of closed parking was simple and plenty of places to enjoy ice cream. read more

Great location tucked away in the Bishop Ranch City Center area. Lines can be super long, especially on the weekends in the summer, but the staff is efficient and gets people moving along. Plenty of standard Salt and Straw creative flavors and samples are plentiful. There are flavors like Strawberry Pretzel Salad and Marionberry Habanero, it feels like there's a mad scientist in their kitchen. Even though it's cold in the winter, I would still stop by after eating somewhere close by. Since my son practices close by in San Ramon, this has been one of our fav spots. It's exactly the quality & flavor that you hope your ice cream will taste like. Their lines are incredibly long during the summer months, hot days/nights & on weekends; but when you come here during the middle of the week or on a cool night, they aren't busy at all. They have a huge selection and they always have new flavors that's something I really enjoy is experimenting with flavors. Today I sampled the blackberry tamale and that was actually very nice. I wasn't sure what to expect but my mouth was very pleased. But I wound up ordering the ice cream that had the creepy crawlers in it and I noticed they used a lot of crickets in it so I thought that was fun for Halloween. I also had the one that tasted like licorice but had no licorice and I really was looking for anywhere that would have fun with ice cream and make a black ice cream with real licorice. This is as close as I could get and I'm never disappointed by the product of this place. As always, it's very clean and the employees are really helpful and willing to let you sample. It was a hot night so the line was long and I didn't take up any useless time asking questions. I'd already had their product in San Francisco before and I knew that it was going to meet my expectations as it did. They have their limited addition flavors out right now for spooky season and the Great Candycopia is the one! If you like bits of chocolate candy pieces mixed in with a nice butterscotch flavor this is for you! A classic favorite of my toddler is of course the chocolate gooey brownie. 4++ I've been a big fan of this chain for a while now. This location is located at The Lot City Center. Been here a few times to take my nieces and nephew, but my most recent visit was to pick up some of the brewer series ice cream. They did a Collab with one of my favorite breweries down in Torrance or in the LA area so I had to try to get some. Outside of the brewer series, I feel like this place is usually known for their seasonal creations and just great flavors in general. Because the shopping center in general gets good amount of traffic, this place seems to be busy often. The vibe does feel like a small town type ice cream shop since it's located in the middle of suburbia. Of my visits, the service has always been friendly and quick. The worker was patient with us as we were 3 people and asked for samples. I love anything with lavender! I got the honey lavender. It was sweet and creamy. Outdoor seating only, and it was HOTTT this day so my ice cream melted a little. Had to eat it fast. The worker let my husband know ahead of time that one of the flavors he asked to try contained alcohol. Hubby said it was fine and told me he couldn't taste it anyways. Salt and straw is one of my fav ice cream spots. I love that they have a new seasonal menu each month with some odd flavor combinations! Usually salt and straw introduces 5-6 new flavors each month, but they also have a static main menu with some classics. You can sample as much as you'd like to figure out your pick and the scoops are pretty generous. Some flavor combinations might sound weird (fried chicken and cinnamon for example) but I'd highly recommend trying it all :) There is a line sometimes but it always moves fast. No indoor seating but it is located at city center which has areas around to sit, a big turf and ample space to stroll. Their San Francisco location is my go-to spot, but they have locations throughout the country. My experience at this location was nothing short of expected. Ample samples are allowed, the smell of fresh waffle cones fills the store, workers kindly scoop making a quick turnaround, and small in size so take-out is the norm. I love their seasonal menu which is what has me coming back. But, I have a soft spot for their vegan flavors too. For this visit, I ended up having a Single Split Scoop of their Chocolate Sugar Cookie Dough and Peanut Butter Brittle Caramel Fudge. Both flavors are vegan, creamy, thick, sweet, and decadent. I recommend getting a Single Split Scoop. It's the perfect way to try two flavors in one scoop--which are generously sized! My Dad enjoyed his ice cream, being it was his first time trying Salt & Straw! I'm biased but I love Salt & Straw and will continue to support them. Bright wide open entrance with just enough room to queue inside but no seating available. Luckily Bishop Ranch had ample seating throughout its spacious and vibrant outdoor mall. We tried: Birthday Cake and Blacberries in a waffle cone - a fan favorite and surely popular with many of the kiddos! What stood out was a split scoop of the Huckleberry Cornbread Pudding AND the Goat Cheese Marionberry Habanero in a waffle cone. It was amazing to feel and taste the texture of the cornbread in a creamy huckleberry mixture.
