Came in this time for dinner. Very nice young lady running the show.Diana, treated us very well, Thank You! I had 4 tacos and my wife had the taco salad- she loved it! Tried a few different salsas, I liked the hot one! There was a fire roasted one that was delicious too! They have a few beers on tap, and a bunch in the cooler. We will be back!

Shrimp Ceviche takeout container, very fresh they give you 2 crispy tostadas and other hot sauces too

The food is fresh . Service is friendly. Location has lots of parking. The place is like your eating at a dinner at home , very tiny but gets the job done. The fact that there is no lunch specials , taco Tuesday I don't think makes ordering a little tricky and confusing . For instance on paper the menu said shrimp tostada. I think though it would be a hot dish but this is basically cold shrimp ceviche. Seafood .Which was the opposite of what I wanted . That is my fault I should have double checked and confirmed with the person working there. On top of that, the my order took forever almost 35 min.4/5 on my first visit.

Dianne is so nice and gave the best customer service! Enchiladas Rojas had a delicious red sauce. I ordered Al Pastor, Carnitas and shredded chicken. Al Pastor was soft and tender and had great flavor. Carnitas were cooked to death so couldn't chew that. Shredded chicken was moist and a great choice. The plates or platillos come with rice and beans and no complaints with the refried beans. Really good size plate especially for one person. Small tables inside but a great patio to sit outside. I'm excited to go back and try more of what they offer. The only downside were the carnitas meat and the prices are pretty high for a family outing. Flan was a good dessert although didn't need the cheap chocolate sauce on top. I'd take it plain with that whipped cream. Kids had the super quesadilla and they loved it.

We got a takeout. Three tacos and a fajita plate. The food was pretty good and the portion size of my fajitas was pretty generous. However, when I got home, I found that they had forgotten to give me tortillas that came with my fajitas. I had to go back for them.

Grilled Shrimp Entree (2 stars) - overcooked and rubbery. Onions had flavor.

Un Taco Mas opened up recently in San Ramon's Gateway Center off Alcosta. For a relatively small restaurant, they have a sizable menu of Mexican cuisine, including birria, seafood-centric rice and bean plates, and like a half dozen varieties of soups, ranging from classic pozole to a seven-seafood soup. This place has potential, but during our lunch it felt like a soft opening: 1. None of the soups were available. Yikes, the wife really wanted to try the 7 Seafood soup. 2. The menu above the order counter was all on Spanish with no pictures. They do have a nice menu book in English with lots of pictures and detailed descriptions. 3. The kitchen seemed overwhelmed with Doordash orders and food came out slowly for the handful of dine-in customers. 4. I thought I ordered grilled fish la plancha but we got a grilled shrimp over onions. The wife was hungry and decided to eat it. Shrimp were overcooked, rubbery, and under-seasoned. All the wonderful flavors went to the onions (2 stars) 5. My Chicken Mole was a bit better - two large boneless chicken breasts that were on the dry side. However their mole was excellent with sweet, sacory, and mildly spicy overtones. (3.5 - 4 stars). Willing to come back in the future when the full menu is available and the kitchen is able to keep up with orders. Fish and octopus feature heavily in many dishes so we'd probably try those next. For now, 3 stars.

Great new Mexican place in the Gateway Center near the Alcosta Blvd. 680 exit, offering excellent birria tacos and Mexican plates served with rice and beans...must try.

This place earns a strong 4.5 stars from me. Right away, the green salsa with the chips tells you everything you need to know. Fresh cilantro floating through it, bright flavor, and then that hidden surprise -- little pieces of avocado mixed in. Absolutely addictive. One of those salsas where you keep saying "just one more chip" and suddenly the basket is gone. The michelada? Bravo. Frosted cold glass, fresh shrimp still steaming when it hits the table, clean presentation, balanced flavor, and made with actual care instead of just dumping ingredients together. Easily one of the best micheladas I've had in a long time. Simple, fresh, and executed the right way. Now the tacos. First off: the freshness of the meat stands out immediately. Honestly some of the freshest I've had recently -- and I grew up eating at Los Pericos since I was a kid after haircuts next door with Randy and Chief. Lately though, Los Pericos has slipped a bit on consistency and quality, and this spot reminded me what fresh really tastes like again. A couple honest notes because I actually want this place to win: * The carnitas were slightly dry. * The carne asada needs a little more seasoning and marinade depth. Right now it tastes like fresh meat in a tortilla instead of that classic Mexican asada flavor profile. The salsa ends up carrying the taco instead of complementing it. But even with that, the foundation here is strong. You can feel the effort. The ingredients are fresh, the plating is thoughtful, and the food feels cared for. I genuinely hope they stay in town because the restaurant business is brutal -- and trust me, I know how hard this industry is. My biggest hope is that once the lunch rushes start getting crazy, they don't cut corners or lose the quality that makes this place special right now.

Super excited for this new taqueria!! I came on Tuesday . Got a birria taco and a pescado(fish taco) both were EXCELLENT! Flavors on point!! I loved them so much went bk on Wednesday!! Grabbed another fish taco, a carnitas and a grilled pollo!! I can't express enough the amazing flavors, everything was so fresh! Their salsa are definitely homemade! I'm officially a regular! Never going to any place else in the tri-valley! The service was exceptional both young men working took pride in excellent service!, I lost the paper with their names. But I was impressed by them both. This food is cooked with love! It's a really cute spot, impeccably clean too! Can't wait to go bk and explore the menu!!

3 chicken enchiladas with yummy mole sauce and corn tortillas

Been looking for a local restaurant with good chicken mole. Think I've found it. Still not as good as one I've had in San Francisco but really good for the Tri-Valley. Un Taco Mas just opened up in the same strip mall as Luckys and McDonald's, on the corner of Alcosta and San Ramon Valley Boulevards. Located in the storefront that used to house a chocolate store and more recently an Indian restaurant. Hidden by waist high hedges is a small dining room with a nice and secluded outdoor seating area. Order at the cash register and they bring your food to the table. So imo, what makes this good mole? Rich and complex sauce that's very well seasoned. Savory, a little sweet from the chocolate, mildly spicy from the chilies and nutty from the seeds and nuts. Used to frequent a restaurant in the area that made good mole but during COVID lockdown, they changed their recipe. While it still looked like mole, they had diluted the sauce with chicken stock. No mole taste left at all. Have been searching for a replacement ever since. Another big plus, think the tortillas were made fresh in-house. Can't wait to try them in other dishes. Another bonus, Un Taco Mas has fried sweet plantains! Loved that these were fried naked, without batter. Lucked out since they claimed they really didn't have enough for 1 order. They sold it to me anyway. Yes, could have done with a couple of more pieces but with 8 thin slices, it was enough to share a taste with my sister. So yummy and sweet enough that the jam garnish was superfluous. So why only 4 stars? They had a huge menu but some puzzling absences. First no agua frescas. They only sold bottled drinks. Would love watermelon, horchata and cantaloupe agua frescas. Next, the mole sauce was great but the chicken was a little dry. The sauce helped alleviate this but still. Maybe offer choice of (lean but drier) chicken breast or (fatty but juicier) leg quarter. Then, while I actually liked the chunky refried beans, they were luke warm at best. Another con, no chips and salsa bar. Lastly, been back a couple of times since and they've been out of the fried sweet plantains. The nice surprise was the leftovers. Loved the large portion. Only ate 2 of the 3 chicken enchiladas. Took the 3rd home and ate it for dinner. Reheated, the mole actually tasted better, spicier. Yummy before but was elevated to another level when the chilies were activated. Great potential. It is only their soft opening, not a grand opening. They're still nailing down the menu so not everything is available. I'll revisit after they've worked out the kinks. Please just don't mess with the mole sauce.

I ordered carniras flautas. They were really good. I did an online order, and my did was ready fast.

If I remember correctly, they get some of their seafood locally, from Pillar Point Harbor, by Half Moon Bay. Other fish come from farther afield but quality and cost control is reasonable given the fact that seafood is expensive. I've never been led astray. Order at the counter, find a seat, and food will be delivered to your table. Never had their pasta before. Finally tried their fettuccine. Instead of Alfredo sauce, substituted with butter sauce. Selected shrimp with crab. OMG! So good. Pasta was perfectly al dente. Hate mushy pasta. This pasta was fully cooked but still had texture. The butter sauce was generously studded with garlic. Shrimp were large and plump. Fully cooked but not rubbery at all. Next time, will skip the crab which disintegrated into the sauce. Go all shrimp or maybe try with fish. The fried clam strips appetizer was a huge portion and totally unnecessary. The fettuccine was enough of a meal by itself. In fact, was so full after the clams, took most of the fettuccine home. Even as leftovers, the shrimp and fettuccine was so delicious for dinner the next day. To cap it off, staff from the head chef to the cashier/server were so friendly and helpful. They genuinely seem happy to work here. Only 1 suggestion, they should add a few TVs for World Cup viewing.
