Had clam chowder and lobster roll. Clam chowder was good, would order again. We were not impressed with the lobster roll but it was inoffensive, still was not worth ever reordering. We stopped because it was convenient and it was scenic with outdoor tables. Sounded like they get the meat locally but I'm guessing they purchased it already out of the shell and there's nothing like lobster steamed and shucked day of eating! Business is counter service, definitely aimed at tourists with the shirts and souvenirs. Only services are port a potties, don't count on being able to wash off messy hands. They don't serve shell on lobster or steamers so it's less of an issue at this restaurant

Visited recently for the view on a ride through Harpswell. I didn't anticipate going to Salt Cod Cafe but my husband wanted a sandwich. There were a lot of people outside so it wasn't surprising there was a decent wait for food. When my husband initially ordered a BLT, he was told they were out of tomato. He opted for a chicken salad sandwich instead. The staff asked what kind of bread he wanted it on and he replied "wheat or whole grain", to which the staff responded, "we only have white" so white bread it was! We got a buzzer to hold which would alert us when it was ready. About 15 minutes later the buzzer went off and we got the food. My husband described the sandwich as being really dry and desperate for a sauce or mayo. It lacked flavor, it needed salt and seasoning and lastly the tomatoes, which they were out of. The bread was at least fresh but overall it was really disappointing.

Stopped by for a quick breakfast after an early morning hike. The location of this café is amazing. The scones are not to be skipped--I've honestly never had a better scone. The breakfast sandwich was alright, nothing special. My main issue with this establishment was the staff. It seemed that everyone working here is a teenager. While I commend them for spending their summers working, leaving them without an actual adult may not be the best idea. They were polite with customers, but when there was no one in line ordering (a couple of us were waiting for our orders) they began ridiculing and mocking customers they had dealt with earlier, replaying conversations they'd had with them in a condescending tone. Afterward, they began complaining about the lack of tips. I've worked in the food industry and understand that some customers can be difficult to deal with, but behaving in the way they were in front of customers is not appropriate.

No better way to start a morning than walking across the Cribstone bridge in anticipation of a scone from the Salt Cod café. The lightest, most delicious scones anywhere, the debate is which one with your morning coffee; apple cinnamon, blueberry or lemon, or do you try a fabulous muffin? Enjoying my tasty pastry while sitting on the back deck watching the boats is always a treat.

I never mentioned that our waitress was also as good the food, I believe her name was Tanner she was so helpful, sweet and had a great mannerism too , I also made it a point to tell her coworkers to tell their manager of how great our waitress was, it's hard nowadays to find someone who goes above and beyond doing her job, 5 stars for your work .. Thanks Again Cooks we love coming back to this area. Certainly worth the visit.. you'll all thank me later, Noel

There was no sign up about a wedding and I had no idea, but when I told him this he continued yelling and bullying me until I left the tiny cube of cheese for him and walked out. I explained we had just had a meal here but he decided to bully a woman client. I'll be reaching out to the owners as I can only imagine if he feels entitled to do this in public how he must treat his staff.
