Yep, I'm a fan. I've compared other options but this one always seems to be a better choice. Breakfasts are far superb here in terms of quality and convenience to anything in Provincetown. Does anyone really want to trek out of their inn to get breakfast? No. Nope, not when you have a perfectly delicious one in the lobby of your inn. I'm rather scared to submit this review because I want this to be my little secret. Still, I'm grateful for the excellent service and hospitality and that should be recognized on Yelp! There's good news and bad news. The good news is that the people/staff are wonderful and welcoming. There are lovely gardens to sit in. The bad news is the that room was claustrophobic; a platform bed that was barely a queen (for two of us), no in-room seating except rickety chairs, and trip hazards all over the place, in the room and around the grounds. I have what I think of as mild mobility impairments, and it was like everything was specifically desiigned to makee things wors for me. And the housekeeper left our dirty washcloths in the swhower. read more

I don't think there is a better place we could have stayed in P-town. My girlfriend lived in P-town back-in-day for two summers and she agrees! We were able to easily walk everywhere all over this magical town. We did stay in the sexy modern avant garde-ish industrial loft (of which there is one), but even the common areas were beautiful. Keeping in mind this is a very small boutique hotel, there were plenty of semi-secluded shaded areas outside to enjoy the quaint grounds; lovely nooks inside the lobby as well. All of the staff was welcoming, helpful, friendly, and downright delightful. The complimentary daily HH was cute (more on the pre-made side though) and the included breakfast was deliciously robust. Parking was included as well which we did use. At the price-point, I personally would add the following touches: more than 2 individual boxes of water for an entire stay for two, fresh flowers/greenery in the room (there are so many all around the grounds), basic dishes - even wine glasses would be nice, and perhaps a few hooks close to the gorgeous clawfoot tub to hang the robes and clothes? Communications prior to arrival took a realllllllllllllllly long time and were a bit frustrating in order to plan/get info. But, overall we ended up pretty damn impressed! read more

As for the property, it's nicely renovated. We had The Loft so it felt spacious and cozy. Our friends had a superior king, and in contrast it was very small and reminiscent of a 1970 hotel room with fresh paint. Dark and full of noises from rooms beside and above. Our room (The Loft) did not have a television as they advertise on their website pictures. When a property requires a 5 night minimal stay, I would think this was an obvious miss. There is extremely limited room for clothing and toiletries. The sink was so small it would only hold our toothbrushes. Both of these seem like such easy fixes. One evening we shut the door to our room and forgot the key inside (actual key, not electronic). We called and text the after hour number multiple times from 9:30pm until 2:00am when we gave up and had to hunt for a hotel to stay in. The staffs response was 1) apology, 2) refund 1 night and 3) the owner would contact us later that day. Number 3 never happened. When I emailed upon our departure the reply I received was "I came to your room at 11am and you were not there". Zero follow up. Mind you, this was 2 days from the incident. The staff and owners are all smiles and friendly until any sign of trouble arise. Last comment. Ironically, as we were departing the front desk was telling a couple checking in about the after hours number to call or text for anything. SMH Lot of options in PTown for luxury accommodations. Our other friends stayed at Brass Key and Crown Point Inn and loved them both. read more

really, really wanted to love our stay at the Salt House Inn this past weekend, but unfortunately several key things missed the mark. I had heard from friends and instagram that this was an awesome place to stay, so my wife and I were very excited to finally have our chance for some R&R in our favorite town. Communication leading up to our stay and upon arrival was delightful -- Jeffrey and Michael were beyond kind and thoughtful. However, great customer service can only go so far when your room smells like mold, the walls are paper thin, and the breakfast was really subpar. The room: We had a deluxe king on the first room (room 11) and had a little bit more space than what are apparently very small rooms. Everything was fine, but felt like they took an old motel and just covered it up with some decor and newish paint. But the biggest issue was the smell -- it truly had a moldy, old scent that was really disappointing. The breakfast: I had heard good things about the food so perhaps I was set up for disappointment when our breakfast was an average breakfast burrito with undercooked black beans. Legit nothing special about it. And the "freshly baked sweet treat" was a dry piece of pound cake, and the fresh fruit also missed the mark -- the melon felt like biting into an apple. We were so underwhelmed by the breakfast that we skipped it the second day. Thin walls: Light sleepers, be warned! This is not the place for you if there are any guests on either side of you, let alone drunk guests. We luckily had a quiet night since no one occupied the room next door on the first night, but Saturday night we weren't as lucky. A couple came home super drunk (nothing wrong with that) but then proceeded to yell and knock around in their room well after midnight. You know it's a bad sign when the hotel provides ear plugs complimentary on the bedside stool... and those definitely didn't do the trick. We could also hear the folks on the other side come and go and it truly felt like they were talking at normal levels and it was inside our room. I really wanted to love the Salt House Inn, but unfortunately we won't be back and wouldn't recommend it considering the price. read more

Visited for 4 nights in early Sept. We were greeted by Shania, who was very friendly and welcomed us with a quick tour of the inn. Sadly, I have to say my initial reaction was less than stellar. We got a standard room on the ground floor. Nice, clean, on the ground floor with hardwood floors and a recently renovated bathroom, but nothing special, especially for the price. Ok, it was during labor day, but still... I'm guessing this isn't one of their bigger rooms. Anyway, our biggest disappointment was the closet space, or the lack thereof. One tiny half closet (the mini fridge underneath) with the rack so high my wife needed a step stool to reach up and hang her clothes. Even I had to stretch to hang up my stuff. But we needed a bit more room and were thinking a rack or two of hooks would go a long way to help eliminate the need for closet space. Having to live for a few days with open suitcases and clothes all over the furniture goes against my need for neatness. Oh and no iron/ironing board. I'm guessing there might have been one available from the office, but I still think there should be one in each room. However that brings up the question... 'where do you put the iron and board with limited closet space?' What a dilemma! Our windows faced Conwell street, with cars and people passing by constantly. Not terribly loud, but still sometimes annoying. (Motorcycles!) Kind of surprisingly the people walking by never looked in the windows... at least not that I saw. lol. That all said... the place grows on you. They serve a very creative breakfast every morning, trying to accommodate people's dietary needs, so my hat's off to the chef. (Sorry... I never got your name) We were only there for 4 nights and yes, it was annoying to deal with a tiny closet, but we survived. I wonder now, was only our room lacking that needed more closet space? Would we go back to SHI? It is very centrally located in town, so there is that. Hmmmm... maybe if they put up a rack or 2 of hooks on the walls. read more

Great experience at the Salt House Inn! We stayed two nights in a Superior Queen room and loved the place. The rooms are very nicely appointed although a bit smaller than some non-nyc people might expect. Kevin was very friendly and helpful - the food and entertainment guide he gave us was a great tool and spot on. The breakfast was also delicious and had a lot of creative dishes like breakfast tacos and apple yogurt smoothies. The only downsides were that our bathroom door was a bit hard to open since the frame must be a little warped, and we didn't get new shampoo/body wash the second day. My wife also suggested adding lotion to the bathroom. Overall this is a great place to stay. My weekend stay at Salt House Inn exceeded all my expectations (which were high, since I scoured Trip Advisor prior to booking). The Superior Queen room was a bit on the small side, but tastefully decorated. I loved the simple, clean look of the rooms and found the bathroom to be quite spacious. Bed was super comfortable and the AC was not noisy at all. Breakfast was beyond phenomenal, with a variety of unique and delicious offerings each morning. Seriously, I don't think you could find a better breakfast in all of Provincetown. Location is also ideal, being just a short walk to all that Commercial Street has to offer. This is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway. read more

Staying at the Salt House Inn for 6 nights and so far my stay has been fabulous. The Inn has tons of charm in a New England atmosphere. The breakfast is THE BEST BREAKFAST I have ever eaten at a hotel. I can't say enough about it. The decor is unique but very fitting. You can tell the owner put great thought into the place. It doesn't feel like a hotel but more like you're staying in a suite - that's a good thing in my book. The staff is welcoming and very friendly. There really aren't many things you could improve here. Overall I would definitely recommend this place to fellow travelers. read more

Wow, what can I say...David and Kevin sure know what they are doing! The newly renovated Inn is superb in almost every way, ideally located a block from Commercial street and although on busy Conwell Street, amazingly quiet. Beautifully and simply decorated with great taste, very comfortable beds, linen and pillows, plush towels, super clean room. The breakfast selection was the BEST I have ever experienced in a B&B. Kevin creates these amazing edible concoctions every morning that would rate high on anyone's culinary list. Fresh cut and perfectly ripe fruit, OJ, coffee, muffins, cereal, yogurt, real smoothies, fresh baked coffee cakes,etc are the staples but the special selection of the day shines brightly. For example: Individual ramekins of french toast with fruit compote and REAL maple syrup Bacon/spinach egg casserole with perfect crust Some type of delicious galette custard with fruit The breakfast food served here should by itself have the placed fully booked. Really, an amazing breakfast experience set amongst cushy chairs or communal rustic table in a charming Inn with professional friendly hosts. The only negative thing to say is the lack of a pool or hot tub, that would be the icing on the cake! read more

My husband and I picked this place as our first resting place for our honeymoon and it was definitely a wonderful last minute pick! We literally booked it about 2 hours before arriving by flight and then car! The bed is very comfortable and we only got of bed so that we wouldn't miss the breakfast! The breakfast itself was beyond delicious! There was a strawberry apricot pastry that I could have eaten for days and the hot dish he prepared for us was wonderful as well. Design wise, it is a beautiful little piece of heaven! Well designed and comfortable! We are on our second night of stay and I cannot wait to see what amazingness we will have for breakfast! My fiancé and I got engaged in Provincetown the weekend we stayed at the Salt House Inn. My fiancé had gotten a recommendation to stay here so he booked the rooms and my family stayed here as well. Julia knew about my fiancé's proposal plan and kept completely quiet. After we got back from the hike where he proposed, she had placed a bottle of champagne and a note congratulating us in our room. After that we spent the evening celebrating with my family and in the morning we went down to an amazing complimentary breakfast. The chef even added more items on for us. Everything was so fresh, local and delicious. We ate outside and Julia brought us out cappuccino and whatever else we needed. The Salt House Inn made a special weekend even more amazing and we would highly recommend it for anyone visiting Provincetown!! We thank them so much and can't wait to stay there again! read more

Fantastic experience with the Salt House Inn! They just renovated and everything is absolutely gorgeous. David and Kevin were so helpful and interested in making sure we had a great first trip to P-Town. I think the breakfast is technically continental, but it was absolutely delicious: ham and cheese croissants, fresh berry smoothies, warm cinnamon cake, etc. Each morning at breakfast they made a point to see if they could improve our experience and gave us recommendations for activities and places to eat. P-Town speaks for itself, but it was still great to get insight from people who know the town so well! They really went above and beyond. When we needed beach towels they lent them to us free of charge. They even let us keep our bags with them after we checked out so we didn't have to walk around town with them. It's about a 5 minute walk from the main street. The room we chose was the cheapest so it was on the smaller side, but the bed was a good size and SO comfortable. I would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the cape! read more

Come...eat, drink, play. Kevin and David know all the places to go to. Great lobster rolls, chowder, biking, sun and fun. Their bed and breakfast is top notch. The rooms were dialed...clean modern, yet retro, these guys have an eye for detail. The light bulbs are so cool! Your have to go see for yourself. The best part was the breakfast, can you say GOURMET! Desserts, yogurt, smoothies, oj, coffee, pie, quiche, you name it. I'm rather reluctant to write this review. It's going to make getting a reservation just a little harder in the future, but I have found my new favorite place to stay in Ptown. Not only is Salt House Inn aesthetically beautiful, including the attention to design detail in the renovated rooms and the main areas but the staff are delightful and accommodating too. If you're looking for plastic flowers and a fru-fru room, Salt House Inn is NOT for you. This place is clean, fresh, modern, beautifully decorated and recently renovated. The crisp white decor with whimsical touches are more in line with an expensive boutique hotel (think the Medusa in Sydney or the Standard Hotels in NYC or LA) than a beachy B&B. David and Kevin could not be any nicer and the breakfast is worth waking up for! The rate is more than reasonable - you couldn't get any better in P-town. read more

Wonderful experience at the Salt House Inn. Located close to downtown, but tucked away on a side road where you couldn't hear any noise. The staff was extremely accommodating and went above and beyond in sharing fun bike routes and things to do. They also let us park longer so we could get an extra day of riding in. The decor was stunning and the breakfast was straight out of Pinterest- delicious fresh and somehow BEAUTIFUL. I would recommend the Salt House to anyone exploring P-town. read more
