Vacationing in Pasadena and heard so much about this bakery so decide to include it in our pastry walk! Darling shop , limited seating area but with a wide varieties of baked goods at a decent prices ! The apple fritter croissant was my fav of the 4 items I purchased ! The other pastries was a tad too sweet for me they do t skimp on frosting /icing but still enjoyed them ! We also got a passionfruit tea which my least fav the tea was overly sweet no passionfruit flavor at all ! Worth a stop and wouldn't mind coming back to try other items ! The staff were patient and friendly!

10/10 visit... there was of course a wait as I had expected but other than that, it was worth waiting. Salted Butter's brown sugar peach matcha is unique, I've never heard nor tried anything like it before. The collab with Prince Street Pizza is the best thing they could've done. The Naught Knot pizza is so buttery, flaky and flavorful. I don't stay too close to the Pasadena area but I definitely have plans of visiting again.

There is definitely hype around this spot but honestly I can see why. Small shop that has a decent and good looking selection of pastries and even some savories options but it seems like the quality revolves around timing and attention to detail. Lemme explain The drinks are decent but nothing I would talk about. The coffee isn't the strong point as the sweet element carries the lattes here and that's enough for a lot of people, so why not grab that tiramisu cold brew or brown butter maple latte? The pastries themselves are good but not great. The fritters have a satisfying crunch layer but if they've been sitting then the cold temp and slightly chewy bread brings it down a bit. The cookie was served to me looking ok but when I picked it up it fell apart like soft cookie lol. No heads up on waiting for it to settle but you'll notice an element of stress among the employees so I can understand. The pizza croissant (naughty knot) was actually pretty good but messy as it falls apart since puff pastry isn't meant to support melted cheese and oily pepperoni for long so fold it! It gets pretty crowded inside and there are two benches you can sit on but I think so wall mounted tables might have been better. Overall I wouldn't mind recommending a visit but it's probably worth 10 minutes of waiting for me and that's pushing it.

Simple yet unique pastries and drinks. At around 2:30PM on a Tuesday, the pizza pastries JUST sold out (was told "just 20 minutes ago"), so I had to order what was left. - CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE $4.50: sooo soft, strong taste of brown sugar. Not overly sweet, even with the generous bits of chocolate chips. i like the large chunks of sea salt on top! - CROOKIE (croissant cookie) $8.00: flaky, crunch croissant, with a soft decadent cookie on top, and filled with an ooey gooey cookie batter-like center. this can easily get too heavy, but I quite enjoyed the few bites I could handle (saved the other half for the next day). worth trying at least once - Apple fritter $6.25: a cylindrical shaped fritter with ample apple chucks, and expected cinnamoniness and glaze. - Strawberry Coast $5.50: strawberry compote and coconut milk, with a bit of seltzer fizz? I was told by the cashier it would be really sweet, but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting! would get again. - VANILLA BEAN LATTE $6.50: SO enjoyed! I would definitely come back, i'm itching to try their savory pastries!! recommending going on weekdays, maybe around noon. We were able to find parking right away in the lot, tho it is a bit tight

had to stop by salted butter before i headed back home. it was about an hour before their closing time, there was still a line outside of about 20 ppl. they only let a handful in at a time. once i got inside...uhm there was like nothing left lol the early bird def gets the worm on this one! welp, i got just a butter croissant and spinach artichoke danish (soooo delicious) and tiramisu cold brew. apollo loved his butter croissant and i loved my spinach artichoke danish! i can see the hype. ill have to visit again , very early in the morning. i wish they would inform the line of what the current inventory is. ppl can decide if they want to wait or not. bc if i would have known, i would have left. i waited about 25m outside. parking: small lot, parking is nearly impossible when its busy. street parking is avail about a block away.

Another great bakery in Pasadena, I'm so jealous. Prior to this one there is Artisanal Goods by Car Bakery & Badash Bakes. This one is more similar to Artisanal Goods by Car. Same line you got to wait in like Car, somewhat similar offerings and price point. I had a raspberry almond croissant, and Earl grey morning bun. Both hit the spot, I'd say both had that distinct taste you're looking for of your on the hunt for unique pastries like me. I also got a coffee, the salted maple coffee. Coffee wise it's good, but if you come to Pasadena for great coffee shops you might want to stick with that. I think I prefer the coffee at Car more. The line is justified and Salted Butter made it that much harder to decide where to get pastries the next time you're in Pasadena.

Came to try this spot out for the first time. Line wasn't too bad waited about 30 minutes. Coffee was strong but I asked for it to be less sweet and it came out a bit salty lol for my liking. It's very fast paced so you can't really sit down and enjoy your pastry and coffee inside. Prince st pizza on a croissant was so delicious10/10 would recommend! Saving my cinnamon roll for later hehe.

Stopped by for a quick snack to drink with my coffee and found this hidden gem! There were so many delicious looking pastries that I wanted to purchase, but I decided on the Best Selling Chocolate Cupcake. It was uniquely delicious. Especially the mini fruit on top! Will def be back to try out the other pastries and drinks even. Seating area is very limited.

I'd tried Salted Butter before when a friend brought me an almond croissant and a chocolate chip cookie. Both left a lasting impression, so I was excited to finally visit in person while I was in the Pasadena area. When we arrived, there was a small line out the door which we waited about 15 minutes before ordering. A friend had mentioned that you can walk in directly to order drinks only, but we decided to wait and place our entire order at once. The line first moves through the pastry display before you order drinks and pay at the register. We ordered seven pastries and one coffee which came out to about $53 including tax. While none of the new items we tried were particularly memorable, everything was enjoyable. The almond croissant and chewy chocolate chip cookie remained my favorites and were easily the standout items of the visit. The Iced Good Vanilla Bean Coffee was also yummy - flavorful without being overly sweet. One downside was the flow of the space. Drink pickups happen directly in front of the entrance, so customers often have to cut through those waiting in line for pastries. The shop itself is quite small, with only two benches available for seating, making it feel crowded during busy periods. Parking was a bit confusing. Most of the spots had signage but there appeared to be only two spaces specifically designated for Salted Butter customers.

If just ordering coffee or picking up a cake. Skip the line & go too register #2.

Salted Butter is a small family-owned business founded by Haruna & Johnny Romo. Haruna started baking her signature treats in her tiny kitchen and has now expanded to a small storefront. For the record, there are very few things I will stand in line for and food is not one of them, especially in the heat or the rain. Every time I drive by Salted Butter there is a line - rain or shine. I finally got lucky! I passed by around 1:15 pm and there was no one outside so I pulled into the parking lot. There were a few people ahead of me inside, and about 30 seconds later there was a line out the door. However, there were plenty of pastries in the case and more freshly out of the oven. A nice young man was taking pastry orders. If you want a beverage, you request it at the register when you pay. They use La Colombe coffee, which is like. The staff were all friendly and worked well together. I can imagine they must be tired at the end of the day. I heard the man tell someone that the Cinnamon Bun is their signature item, so I ordered it. It's different than a standard cinnamon bun because it is made from croissant dough and not a rich dough. The inner layers were light, flaky, & buttery. The cream cheese icing was thin and not overly sweet and the cinnamon filing wasn't overbearing. It had a good flavor & consistency and I like that it wasn't heavy. I also liked the crunchy ends and could taste the quality. However, I wouldn't stand in line for it but if I happen to pass by and there isn't a line I'll stop in and give something else a try. *Shared parking lot or street parking. *Order cakes & pastries online.

I went on a Sunday morning and waited only for 20 minutes!! I went at the perfect time where they switch from morning to afternoon pastries, so I got to try everything! The Ham & Cheese Croissant ($6.75) was my absolute FAVORITE out of everything I tried. I NEED to go back and try their other croissants. The French Onion Soup Danish ($7.25) was highly recommended, but I'd personally skip. I probably would've enjoyed it 10x more if it was warm and fresh out of the oven. The Croissant Apple Fritter ($6.25) was delicious. The Earl Grey Scone ($5.25) had a great flavor, but I'm just personally not a scone person. The Croissant Cinnamon Roll ($6.50) was so delicious. The frosting is not too sweet and the concept is unique. The Pizza Croissant Roll ($6.75) -- I thought I would enjoy because of all the cheese, but it didn't end up being anything special. The Tiramisu Latte was also great!

I finally got around to trying this place ever since it blew up on social media. When I saw they were doing a limited time principal street pizza collab I knew I had to try it. They have a small parking lot but there is also street parking down the street. It is a small take out spot. Once you get in they take your order at the display and then you move forward to pay at the register. I waited in line for about an hour and I would honestly do it again for the pizza croissant. I also got the spinach artichoke croissant, earl gray orange morning bun, cinnamon roll, and the ham and cheese croissant. For all of them I recommend warming them up a little when you get home. All of them were so flavorful and I understand the hype around this place now.

Salted Butter Company is a breath of fresh air in the LA bakery scene. Right off the bat, the hospitality is standout -- I'm talking the kind of attentive, genuine service you usually only find in fine dining. From the person taking my order to the team boxing pastries and making coffee, everyone was incredible kind. They even went out of their way to find a sticker for my son. In today's world, that level of service is rare and much appreciated. Be prepared for a bit of wait, as the shop is always bustling and indoor seating is unfortunately non-existent. However, the staff works efficiently to keep the line moving. As someone who can be a bit indecisive at the counter, I ended up ordering a bit of everything. Here is the breakdown: -Cinnamon Roll ($6.50): A clear crowd favorite for a reason. It's made with laminated croissant dough, giving it an airy, flaky texture. The vanilla bean cream cheese glaze hits that perfect balance of sweet and tart. -Earl Grey Orange Morning Bun ($6.50): Another winner. The bun is buttery and crispy, with the Earl Grey tea and subtle citrus notes coming through beautiful in every bite. -Ham & Cheese Croissant ($6.75): This is a very high-quality, artisan take on a classic. It features next-level flakiness and rich, gooey Gruyère. My only wish? I'd love to see a version with Jalapeños for a bit of a kick! -Chocolate Croissant ($6.00) & Chocolate Chip Cookie ($4.50): Both were solid. The croissant was delicate with a great crunch, and the cookie had that perfect salty-sweet profile thanks to a hit of sea salt. -Strawberry Rhubarb Pie Danish ($7.75): I didn't get a bite of this one -- my son claimed it immediately, as he's a huge dan of anything strawberry. I tried the Brown Butter Maple Latte ($6.90), which was a bit too sweet for my taste and it didn't quite incorporate the syrup fully into the espresso. On the other hand, my wife's Spanish Latte ($6.90) was excellent -- smooth, creamy, and much more balanced. While the pastries are undeniably top-tier, there are two things you should prepare for: the crowd and the cost. Since there is a lack of dedicated seating, it's more of a grab-and-go destination than place to linger over a morning coffee. It's easy to go overboard when everything looks this good, but it definitely left my wife with a bit of sticker shock! I'll definitely be back, though I might have to make it a solo mission next time -- or at least keep the receipt hidden from my wife!

I was absolutely blown away with what we picked, they nail the nuanced flavors--very rich and creamy and not too heavy on the stomach, more so refreshing. I would encourage anyone not to be afraid to pick something they've never had and sample flavors you have no clue about, they went above and beyond to sample the flavors as they would be if we ordered them, including the toppings. The flavors are middle eastern inspired and the details are all listed. My wife and I sampled 2 flavors and we both enjoyed our selections. The flavors are memorable. We happily decided on the Sesame Halve (vegan) & Pistachio Konafa with Chocolate Shell (+$1.00) for myself. The presentation is one of a kind! The topping with the tiny little rose is a nice aesthetic and definitely their trademark. The location offers retro and colorful style seating for 10+ customers if I had to guess . Patio seats are also offered outside. Also, OG Pac-Man arcades are available inside. Came here for the souffle pancakes and they didn't disappoint!…read more My party of 3 stopped by Saturday afternoon 2:30 pm and it wasn't crowded. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We chose outdoor since it was such a nice day out. They have all of their desserts on display in the case, so you can peruse the options and see what looks good. So many of the desserts looked good, like the matcha yuzu chiffon crepe cake or the rose and lychee crepe cake. We ordered via the kiosk and got the mango sunshine souffle pancake ($16.50) and well as a couple drinks. My drink was the white peach lemon jasmine bliss ($6.25), with 50% sweetness and less ice. Even though there are signs everywhere saying that it takes 15-20 minutes for the souffle pancakes to be cooked, ours came out super quickly, in 5 minutes or so. We got it with the sauce on the side, but I regret doing that as I saw others getting it with the sauce on top and it was beautiful. The pancake was super fluffy and a bit eggy as well. We all really enjoyed it with the mango sauce. I made the mistake of eating the pancake first before trying a sip of my tea. The pancake was pretty sweet, so I could barely taste my drink, but I think it was good? I could taste a bit of the lemon but definitely not the white peach, which is a lighter flavor. I got a slice of their Hokkaido cheese cake roll for $7 to go and had it the next day. It was okay but definitely a bit pricy for what you get. I'd love to come back to try their other desserts and pancakes!
