Simple yet unique pastries and drinks. At around 2:30PM on a Tuesday, the pizza pastries JUST sold out (was told "just 20 minutes ago"), so I had to order what was left. - CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE $4.50: sooo soft, strong taste of brown sugar. Not overly sweet, even with the generous bits of chocolate chips. i like the large chunks of sea salt on top! - CROOKIE (croissant cookie) $8.00: flaky, crunch croissant, with a soft decadent cookie on top, and filled with an ooey gooey cookie batter-like center. this can easily get too heavy, but I quite enjoyed the few bites I could handle (saved the other half for the next day). worth trying at least once - Apple fritter $6.25: a cylindrical shaped fritter with ample apple chucks, and expected cinnamoniness and glaze. - Strawberry Coast $5.50: strawberry compote and coconut milk, with a bit of seltzer fizz? I was told by the cashier it would be really sweet, but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting! would get again. - VANILLA BEAN LATTE $6.50: SO enjoyed! I would definitely come back, i'm itching to try their savory pastries!! recommending going on weekdays, maybe around noon. We were able to find parking right away in the lot, tho it is a bit tight
Stopped by for a quick snack to drink with my coffee and found this hidden gem! There were so many delicious looking pastries that I wanted to purchase, but I decided on the Best Selling Chocolate Cupcake. It was uniquely delicious. Especially the mini fruit on top! Will def be back to try out the other pastries and drinks even. Seating area is very limited.
I finally got around to trying this place ever since it blew up on social media. When I saw they were doing a limited time principal street pizza collab I knew I had to try it. They have a small parking lot but there is also street parking down the street. It is a small take out spot. Once you get in they take your order at the display and then you move forward to pay at the register. I waited in line for about an hour and I would honestly do it again for the pizza croissant. I also got the spinach artichoke croissant, earl gray orange morning bun, cinnamon roll, and the ham and cheese croissant. For all of them I recommend warming them up a little when you get home. All of them were so flavorful and I understand the hype around this place now.
I'd tried Salted Butter before when a friend brought me an almond croissant and a chocolate chip cookie. Both left a lasting impression, so I was excited to finally visit in person while I was in the Pasadena area. When we arrived, there was a small line out the door which we waited about 15 minutes before ordering. A friend had mentioned that you can walk in directly to order drinks only, but we decided to wait and place our entire order at once. The line first moves through the pastry display before you order drinks and pay at the register. We ordered seven pastries and one coffee which came out to about $53 including tax. While none of the new items we tried were particularly memorable, everything was enjoyable. The almond croissant and chewy chocolate chip cookie remained my favorites and were easily the standout items of the visit. The Iced Good Vanilla Bean Coffee was also yummy - flavorful without being overly sweet. One downside was the flow of the space. Drink pickups happen directly in front of the entrance, so customers often have to cut through those waiting in line for pastries. The shop itself is quite small, with only two benches available for seating, making it feel crowded during busy periods. Parking was a bit confusing. Most of the spots had signage but there appeared to be only two spaces specifically designated for Salted Butter customers.
I have had this bakery on my saved list for months and finally had the chance to go. (I have already gone back three times since I went the first time) I have been pretty lucky every time I go and the line isn't too crazy. Max I waited both times were 20 minutes? I have gone either early in the morning or an off time like around 1:30ish. They still have a pretty good selection at those times. My go-tos now are the butter croissant, cinnamon roll and kouign amann(when they have it). I got the crookie today and it was DELICIOUS!! The apple fritter is a nice sweet treat too. I love how flaky and buttery everything is. The staff is ALWAYS on point and friendly. I know it gets really busy but every time I go the staff is always smiling and very patient when you can't decide what to get. If you drive by and don't see a line you need to pop in! Love everything about this place! My daughters even have a Salted Butter sticker on their table. They love it everything time we go!
I stopped by around 8 am and there was no line which I was worried about since I've seen the line wrap around the building. There's a parking lot next door with some parking spots. I got the salted maple coffee, an almond croissant and a cinnamon roll. The coffee and cinnamon roll were good, but nothing I'd drive out of my way for. The croissant was incredible though and I'd want to try all the other pastries. Would definitely come back.
I've been to Salted Butter a couple times now and always go back & forth between a 4 or 5 star. Service wise this place is great, everyone is very friendly and efficient when it comes to ordering pastries and coffee. (Tip: if you only want coffee skip the line and go to the front). As for the pastries and drinks let's get into it - Salted Butter Maple Latte (8/10) First time trying it was just okay. Second time it was delicious, would recommend. - Chocolate Chip Cookie (8/10) Really solid cookie, just not a fan of the price but I respect it. - Croissant Cinnamon Roll (8.5/10) My favorite pastry, was flaky and moist. I did take off some of the frosting, after that it was really good. Overall a great experience, I did try a few other items that I don't recall good or bad. Would I go again? Yes!
Salted Butter is a small family-owned business founded by Haruna & Johnny Romo. Haruna started baking her signature treats in her tiny kitchen and has now expanded to a small storefront. For the record, there are very few things I will stand in line for and food is not one of them, especially in the heat or the rain. Every time I drive by Salted Butter there is a line - rain or shine. I finally got lucky! I passed by around 1:15 pm and there was no one outside so I pulled into the parking lot. There were a few people ahead of me inside, and about 30 seconds later there was a line out the door. However, there were plenty of pastries in the case and more freshly out of the oven. A nice young man was taking pastry orders. If you want a beverage, you request it at the register when you pay. They use La Colombe coffee, which is like. The staff were all friendly and worked well together. I can imagine they must be tired at the end of the day. I heard the man tell someone that the Cinnamon Bun is their signature item, so I ordered it. It's different than a standard cinnamon bun because it is made from croissant dough and not a rich dough. The inner layers were light, flaky, & buttery. The cream cheese icing was thin and not overly sweet and the cinnamon filing wasn't overbearing. It had a good flavor & consistency and I like that it wasn't heavy. I also liked the crunchy ends and could taste the quality. However, I wouldn't stand in line for it but if I happen to pass by and there isn't a line I'll stop in and give something else a try. *Shared parking lot or street parking. *Order cakes & pastries online.
Salted Butter Company is a breath of fresh air in the LA bakery scene. Right off the bat, the hospitality is standout -- I'm talking the kind of attentive, genuine service you usually only find in fine dining. From the person taking my order to the team boxing pastries and making coffee, everyone was incredible kind. They even went out of their way to find a sticker for my son. In today's world, that level of service is rare and much appreciated. Be prepared for a bit of wait, as the shop is always bustling and indoor seating is unfortunately non-existent. However, the staff works efficiently to keep the line moving. As someone who can be a bit indecisive at the counter, I ended up ordering a bit of everything. Here is the breakdown: -Cinnamon Roll ($6.50): A clear crowd favorite for a reason. It's made with laminated croissant dough, giving it an airy, flaky texture. The vanilla bean cream cheese glaze hits that perfect balance of sweet and tart. -Earl Grey Orange Morning Bun ($6.50): Another winner. The bun is buttery and crispy, with the Earl Grey tea and subtle citrus notes coming through beautiful in every bite. -Ham & Cheese Croissant ($6.75): This is a very high-quality, artisan take on a classic. It features next-level flakiness and rich, gooey Gruyère. My only wish? I'd love to see a version with Jalapeños for a bit of a kick! -Chocolate Croissant ($6.00) & Chocolate Chip Cookie ($4.50): Both were solid. The croissant was delicate with a great crunch, and the cookie had that perfect salty-sweet profile thanks to a hit of sea salt. -Strawberry Rhubarb Pie Danish ($7.75): I didn't get a bite of this one -- my son claimed it immediately, as he's a huge dan of anything strawberry. I tried the Brown Butter Maple Latte ($6.90), which was a bit too sweet for my taste and it didn't quite incorporate the syrup fully into the espresso. On the other hand, my wife's Spanish Latte ($6.90) was excellent -- smooth, creamy, and much more balanced. While the pastries are undeniably top-tier, there are two things you should prepare for: the crowd and the cost. Since there is a lack of dedicated seating, it's more of a grab-and-go destination than place to linger over a morning coffee. It's easy to go overboard when everything looks this good, but it definitely left my wife with a bit of sticker shock! I'll definitely be back, though I might have to make it a solo mission next time -- or at least keep the receipt hidden from my wife!
Absolutely delicious baked goods and coffee conveniently located near multiple hospitals! Luckily, we went on a day where the line was not around the block. We tried the classic salted maple butter latte and seasonal banana coffee, both iced and both excellent! Also got a variety of pastries and baked goods, from savory to sweet. The standouts were the apple fritter and chocolate chip cookie. Also would love to commend the employee who noticed my husband pushing a stroller while carrying multiple beverages and a box of pastries and helped him walk back to the car.
True this local Pasadena spot after seeing it go viral for numerous reasons on social media. I had to try both coffee and pastries although the place is known for pastries. There was a long line on a Friday morning still and the set up was a little odd. The line to pay covers half of the pastries displayed so I missed out on ordering some I didn't see. It was a very busy setting and ordering feels rushed. My order came out to around $40 for 4 pastries and a coffee. The pastries were good, not great and so was the coffee after mixing. I'd recommend it if the line isn't too long and you're in the area but it wouldn't be something I'd go out of my way for again. Parking is also not the best.
The pastries are very yummy and their croissant is so flaky and so buttery. The line goes pretty fast considering how long it usually is. The cinnamon roll is a go to one if you want a usual crowd pleaser. The drinks to me are a hit and miss. The one I enjoyed was the strawberry non caffeinated one was refreshing. I've tried the cupcakes there and to me they were eh. Go for the baked pastries if you don't want to be disappointed.
Stopped by Salt & Butter on a Thursday around 11am and there was a small line, but it moved fast. They've got the flow down: order, box, pay, done. Perfect for a quick grab-and-go. Parking can be a little tricky. There's a small lot in the back with limited spots, but I lucked out with a quick 10-minute space. Now the important part: the pastries. * Croissant cinnamon roll: flaky, buttery, with a cream cheese-leaning icing, super tasty. * Apple fritter: low-key the star. It's like chunks of monkey bread fused together with glaze...so good. * Brown butter almond croissant: solid, rich, and exactly what you'd want. * Brown Butter sea salt chocolate chip cookie: classic and satisfying. Overall, everything was really good. Not "life-changing," but definitely hits that sweet spot of being a consistently excellent bakery you'd happily come back to. It was a Meh kinda experience. It's my second time. First time the Earl grey bun was pretty good and the cinnamon roll was good. Today, my item was burned, and the cinnamon bun was stale. I got there around 9am. So I'm not sure if it was a yesterday's goodie. Stale nonetheless. read more
Salted Butter Bakery in Pasadena is a tiny bakery with a line that usually stretches out the door. Parking is a bit limited, but people clearly come here for a reason. For drinks we got the iced strawberry matcha and the salted butter brown sugar maple latte, and both were really good. The strawberry and matcha combo surprisingly worked really well together and was super refreshing, especially on a hot day. For pastries we tried a few things. The brown butter almond croissant was super flaky, but the sweet almond filling inside (that custardy almond mixture) was a little heavy for me. Still good, just a bit much. Our favorite was the spinach artichoke dip danish..wow. So savory and flavorful, definitely the standout. We also got the popular cinnamon rolls, which were really good. I loved the glaze on top..it tasted more like a slightly tart cream cheese glaze rather than the typical powdered sugar glaze most places use. Overall it was really good and I'd definitely go back to try more pastries. Just be prepared things can get messy, so grab plenty of napkins. There are two small benches inside where you can sit while waiting for drinks, and the people working there were nice and helpful. Plus there are plenty of spots around the area where you can walk and sit to enjoy your pastries. read more
Finally made it to Pasadena to try these delicious basked goods and they did not disappoint. I was worried about the long line but to my surprise it wasn't so bad on a Saturday morning (10am) There is a small parking lot right behind which is convenient. There are two lines- express line if just picking up drinks and cakes / the other line for general pastries and drinks. The line actually moves pretty quickly. You order your pastries first and then drinks, then pay at the register. They have a main drink menu but often have seasonal drinks as well. In regards to their pastries, they generally change every month. The March pastry menu was looking mighty fine. I ordered the salted brown butter maple latte (iced) and the espresso was strong but well balanced. Not too sweet at all. Really solid latte and good! Ordered a variety of pastries but wish I could have tried more (sad) - bacon potato cheese danish - spinach artichoke dip danish - cinnamon roll croissant - Crookie - chocolate croissant The Crookie was SO GOOD. The croissant was flakey and had a chocolate filling, topped with a baked chocolate chip cookie. Everything was just soft and gooey. YUM. But the Cinnamon Roll croissant was my favorite!!! It was also very soft, flaky, pull apart goodness. The icing is not too sweet, more on the cream cheese side. It was bomb. If you haven't made your way here yet, it's a MUST! read more
If you work near nearby like me, Salted Butter Bakery is both a blessing and a curse. I'm obsessed! It's always popping with lines out the door, but the food is absolutely top tier. The Spinach Artichoke "Dip" Danish & the Brown Butter Sea Chocolate Chip Cookie are my all time go to. I have yet to try their lattes, they look amazing! They have seasonal items so don't fall in love too hard for those items. I will say, their wait time runs fair fast and smooth. The staff are very friendly and sweet :) read more

We came on a Sunday around noon and the line wasn't too long. We got the chocolate pistachio croissant and the chocolate chip cookie. Both were very good, nice and warm. As for the drinks, the coffee was too sweet and didn't taste like coffee and the limited tea flavor drink was very refreshing. I would come back if there was no line. read more
Finally found the chance to try Salted Butter! This bakery has been trending on social media and honestly, the lines have been intimidating but I finally found time to go! It's located across the street from the hospital and finding parking was probably one of the worst experiences ever. I went on a Saturday afternoon at around 1pm. There's a big parking lot in the back of their bakery but most of the empty spots you see are reserved for the neighboring businesses. They have maybe four spots reserved for their business but at the time, it was all occupied by customers. I was lucky enough to find a 15 minute parking spot on the curb inside the parking lot. The bakery is on the smaller side. They have a red velvet rope that forms a line outside their shop if it does get too busy. Fortunately, there wasn't a line out the door yet. Walking in, you see a big display case and a drinks menu above it. Unfortunately, we did come a little late so there weren't a lot of options left. We asked what were the recommendations for the given pastries left and we took their opinion and grabbed what was good! We got the Pistachio Chocolate Swirl, Croissant Cinnamon Roll, Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie, and an Iced Cloud Matcha! The total for everything came out to be $~30! There's a few tables available but I did end up bringing this home to enjoy. Food: Iced Cloud Matcha (8.9/10): Wow this was delicious! The matcha flavor was there and the milk didn't overpower the flavor of the matcha. The salted cream top was the cherry on top to make the entire drink stand out. It was a salted cream top so it adds a nice balance to the sweetness of the drink. I think they added a vanilla syrup to the drink which was yummy! It didn't overpower the matcha flavor which was nice! Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie (8.5/10): Yum!! The brown butter was the absolute perfect touch to this cookie. The sea salt sprinkled on top of the cookie cut into the sweetness. I will say that this was on the sweeter side and I couldn't eat this in one sitting. Every bite had a good chunk of chocolate so if you like your chocolate cookies to have less chocolate and more cookie, this definitely isn't the one for you. Croissant Cinnamon Roll (8/10): Oh Wow!! This was a unique one. Instead of a doughy roll, they made this a croissant texture instead. The outer layer was baked so there would be some flakiness but the cream cheese frosting did soften it up. They were not stingy with the cream cheese frosting. Each bite was soaked with the frosting and it added a nice sweetness to the cinnamon-y, warm , and soft layer. Pistachio Chocolate Swirl (?/10): I don't think I'm the right audience to rank this pastry. I got this because of the recommendation but I already knew that this one wasn't going to be for me. It's a croissant with layers of pistachio and chocolate! It personally isn't for me but if you're a person that likes pistachio on your pastries this will be for you! read more
I'm so glad I got to check this place out. They had a better selection than I was expecting, pretty unique stuff. The staff is also super friendly so that made it extra nice. It's a small place but I usually just grab stuff to go. They have a little parking too but depending on the day the 30 minute limit might not be enough time. I heard about this viral spot via social media... Ordered: Brown Butter Almond Croissant - nice flakey with almond cream. Nana's Meyer Lemon croissants - lemony good. French Onion Soup Danish - tasted weird and it was ok. Iced strawberry matcha drink -It was too sweet. Ambiance is cute. Service was quick as I came right before closing time. Most of the pastries were sold out. Overall, it is overpriced for all the pretty pastries and drinks. read more
From the pastries to the coffee! Wowww! I was in the area with my man and I forcefully made him take me because I've been seeing this place all over tik tok lol. The line was pretty long but it went by pretty quick! Employees were very nice, despite the crowd they all maintained a positive attitude! I tried the salted brown butter coffee and it was absolutely delicious! I tried lots of pastries, my fav had to have been the chocolate chip cookie, I was bummed that they ran out of the cinnamon rolls because I really wanted to try them. This bakery is very popular. Lines are often long so get here early if you want good selection of various pastries. They are open from 7am to 4pm. I ordered the following beverages: Salted brown butter maple latte: 4/5 Tiramisu cold brew: 5/5 Earl Grey latte: 5/5 Out of the three beverages I tried, I liked the salted brown butter maple latte the least. Although it was good, it wasn't as good as the other two. The flavors of the Tiramisu cold brew and Earl Grey latte were more delicious. I ordered the following pastries: Ham and cheese croissant 4/5. Spinach artichoke dip Danish: 5/5 Croissant cinnamon roll: 5/5 Croissant apple fritter: 3/5 Bacon potato cheese: 3/5 Black Forest cheesecake: 4/5 Overall, all of the pastries were fresh, flaky, and delicious. I liked some more than others as a personal preference. The interior of this bakery is very small. Be prepared to purchase items to go rather than eating at this establishment. This bakery is all the hype right now on Instagram and Facebook so we had to check it out and see if it lived up to its posts. We arrived to find a decent size line (15 people or so) extending out the door and around the building. We didn't wait too long maybe 20 minutes. People are in and out quick as they pick up and leave, because there is just 4 benches (that seat 2 people each) inside for seating (and no tables). As we arrived at the counter we were given a warm greeting and placed our order, lemon meringue croissant and apple fritter. I love lemon meringue pie and this croissant was a perfect clone. Buttery and flaky croissant dough stuffed with lemon curd and topped with lightly torched meringue. The Apple fritter was done in a round mold, flavor was fantastic and the outside was caramelized and crispy and the inside was warm and soft. I came here Sunday morning with my friend and we arrived around 7:20 AM. Luckily we found parking at the nearby bank, and when we got there only two people were in line and we were the 3rd. Within about 15 minutes the line grew a lot, so I'm really glad we got there early! They open at 8 AM, and once the doors opened the line moved quickly and we got inside within a few minutes. We ordered the brown butter croissant, strawberry cheesecake croissant, cinnamon roll, and apple fritter, plus drinks an iced vanilla bean latte and a hot salted maple coffee. When you order, you pick your pastries first and then place your coffee order at the register when you pay. If you're just coming for coffee, you can skip the pastry line and let them know you're coffee-only, which is super convenient. Now for the pastries: Brown butter croissant-this was my least favorite. It just didn't really appeal to my taste buds. Cinnamon roll- Totally different from what I expected! It's more of a crispy, croissant-style pastry instead of a soft, doughy cinnamon roll. The first bite surprised me because it was so buttery and flaky. The glaze was delicious and honestly really good, even though it's not the traditional style I'm used to. Strawberry cheesecake croissant- wow, super flavorful and delicious. Apple fritter - I didn't try this one so I can't really comment. The cinnamon roll was definitely the standout for me and something I'd order again. As for the coffee... I was a little disappointed. The vanilla bean latte tasted like it had no vanilla at all I kept mixing it thinking the flavor just settled, but nope. The salted maple coffee was fine, but nothing memorable. I personally wouldn't come back just for the coffee. Overall, this place gets 4 stars from me. The pastries are unique and worth trying, and I'm glad I finally crossed it off my bucket list. That said, I personally wouldn't wait in a very long line for it. I still prefer the cinnamon rolls at Badash Bakery. Ordered a half dozen for Mother's day. Didnt know about the hype but i am glad i ordered ahead of time because the line was long. I can pick it up and leave. Well, it is expensive for croissant. But boy were they good!. I dont like cinnamon rolls but my mom does and so when i saw the box came with two i was delighted. The good - i have to say the croissant were all good. The flakiness, the crunch and the buttery taste. They are all fluffy and crisp at the same time. Scone is a bit dense but still better than a lot of places i had. Apple fritters - you can taste the freshness of the apples. Its really good as well. The bad - super sweet. Its really really sweet. If you like sweet? Youll love it. Its a bit much for me but once a while its ok. I cant have this everyday nor would i for the price either. The icing is really good because it has a lot of cream and butter in it so it never gets hard and flaky. I get the hype. Just not for people who doesnt like sweet. or just get their savory ones. This bakery always has long lines and finally had a short line today. I immediately made a turn into the parking lot and only had about a 10 minute wait. The selection of pastries is rather limited, but the taste makes up the difference and presentation was huge! The line moves fairly quickly and specialty drinks are also available as listed on the menu board. The inside seems more like westside pastry shops and is a tad more expensive than chain bakeries. Wanted to come here to see what the hype was about! On a Monday afternoon, there was no line at all. We walked straight up to order and the service was great. I ordered an iced americano. Their default for iced drinks is 16oz, so I asked them for less water and the drink was made perfectly! My sister also enjoyed her iced cloud matcha latte and said the cream on top was tasty. We ordered a butter croissant, a spinach and artichoke dip croissant, and a brown sugar almond croissant. This was a perfect light breakfast. I liked that the spinach and artichoke croissant wasn't too salty! I do wish that they were warmed up though. I'm not sure if this is an option because I didn't ask. Overall, the croissants were good, but I don't think they're worth waiting in a long line for on a busy day. But I would come back on a weekday again when it's not busy! The shop is cute and small with benches for a few people to sit on. There is a clean bathroom. The parking lot seemed a little small and I can see how it could be difficult to get parking on a busy day. read more

Came here around 8 a.m. and even though the line wrapped around the building, it was not insanely long, it just moved a little slower than we expected. Once you get inside, you can see the full case of pastries before ordering, which I loved because everything looks unreal. The process is pretty straightforward. You order at the counter, move to the other side while they pack everything up, then pay and go once your food is ready. Easy system, just a bit time consuming if there is a line. We ordered the French dip croissant, the artichoke dip croissant, the croissant cinnamon roll, and a chocolate chip cookie. Everything was super delicious except the cookie. I would skip that next time. But the cinnamon roll was absolutely to die for. Both savory croissants were so flavorful and completely worth it. I think the savory options rotate, which makes me want to come back and try more. There is not really space to sit inside, especially when it is busy. It is pretty cramped, but perfect to grab and take home. Definitely worth the hype, just plan for a bit of a wait. read more
This is the most viral croissant bakery. So let's see if they're pretty good eh or ew. I got their iconic croissant cinnamon roll and pizza croissant to try. My friend even gave me some of her earl gray scone to try which was thick, buttery, moist, with a crisp exterior and floral notes. Not really for me. The cinnamon roll was super cinnamony, gooey, yummy and perfectly balanced to be not too sweet with the buttery flakey pastry. The pizza croissant had good tomatoey sauce, a crispy cheese top, but I wasn't getting any bacon like they said there was in it and it lowkey just reminded me of digiornos croissant pizza. We waited probably less than 20 min and was greeted by a friendly staff member and placed our order , lemon meringue croissant- soft and flaky (it was so good ) filled with lemon curd & apple fritter - nice and crispy around the edge and warm and soft inside. We went on a Sunday afternoon ~3pm and there was essentially no line. They were out of most pastries by then, but we were still able to try the Salted Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie and Earl Grey Scone. The cookie was good but not a stand out. The scone was crispy on the outside, yet soft on the inside and had a nice strong earl grey flavor - would recommend. We also got a blueberry mojito (non-alcoholic), which was refreshing on a sunny afternoon. Please beware there is limited seating, with just 3 benches inside the crowded store. It is more of a grab-and-go place. We ended up driving to the nearby Arlington Garden and enjoyed our pastries at a table there. read more
I found out about this place through social media and heard that it was really good so we decided to go check it out. We came on a rainy day and the line was surprisingly still pretty long but the bakery did offer umbrellas out front. Unfortunately there was no signs to let the customers know that the umbrellas were for them so many of us didn't use those umbrellas and had brought our own. Once we got inside of the bakery, which was probably around 45 minutes of waiting in line, it went pretty fast from there in terms of us ordering the pastries and drinks. We got several pastries, such as the chocolate croissant, cinnamon rolls, cookies, butter croissants and two drinks. despite the long line, these pastries were actually really good and i can understand the hype. everything was buttery and flakey and delicious. the drinks were also really good! this bakery also does occasional collabs with brands like summer fridays and by rosie jane which is also fun and engaging. i would definitely come back to this bakery and hope that the line dies down but honestly can understand if it doesn't because this place is worth it! btw, there's free parking at the lot right next to the bakery and there's a little bit of seating inside, but this place is mostly for take away. inside decor of this bakery is really cute too, it gives vintage charm vibes. it has a lot of character and smells amazing! read more

Decided to take advantage of the rain today and check out Salted Butter Company. We got there around 8:45 a.m. and only had to wait about 10 minutes inside the store. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. We blacked out while ordering and somehow ended up with seven pastries for the two of us and we have zero regrets. My personal favorite was the ham and cheese croissant. There was a generous amount of cheese inside, and the Gruyère (I think?) was clearly high quality. I couldn't get enough. Another standout was the apple fritter croissant. I thought it was a super clever way to use the ends of their croissant dough, and it may be the best apple fritter I've ever had. However, the most memorable part of the meal was the Meyer lemon meringue croissant. It was absolutely stuffed with filling and probably weighed a good pound and a half. As a huge fan of lemon pastries, I was especially excited to try it. But honestly, I have no idea how anyone eats it without a fork, knife, and spoon. Lemon filling squirted out with every bite, and we couldn't stop laughing at how ridiculous it felt trying to eat it. We also tried a butter croissant, chocolate brownie Danish, brown butter chocolate chip cookie, and a croissant cinnamon roll. There are lots of croissant variations on the menu (rightfully so!), but next time we'll probably order fewer croissant-based pastries so we can explore more of the menu. Overall, the pastries were a 10/10, and we will absolutely be back. read more
Visited on a Saturday afternoon and surprisingly, the line was super short! I only had to wait about 15 minutes to order and get my items. I tried the Crookie, Good Vanilla Bean Latte, and the Iced Cloud Matcha and was so impressed! The crookie had two layers of chocolate chip cookie intertwined with a flaky buttery croissant. It was so delicious and had soft melted chocolate inside. The cookie itself is VERY sweet, but compliments the buttery croissant very well since it's not sweet at all. 10/10 would get again! The Iced Cloud Matcha had strong matcha notes with just the right amount of cream top and sweetness! Not overly sweet! There was too much ice in mine though. 9/10!! The Good Vanilla Bean Latte was just very sweet coffee! I liked it! 9/10 Parking is convenient as there's a free lot nearby! Seating is super limited inside (only like 2 benches). Thus, it can get very crowded inside! Definitely more of a pick up and go spot. It is on the pricier side, but i can't complain because the quality of the food and drinks are phenomenal! Arrived on a weekday at 9:30am, 30 minute wait, fast line. LA version of butter & crumbl but not assss good but a way shorter wait. Pretty standard prices $6-8 pastries. Pastries ranked: 1. Ham and cheese croissant: buttery flakey (8.5/10) 2. Earl grey morning bun: good tea flavor, soft inside crispy outside (8/10) 3. Apple fritter croissant: sweet apple, crispy outside chewy inside (7.8/10) 4. Lemon croissant: super super tangy lemon filling I like but overstuffed (7.7/10) 5. Ginger molasses cookie: chewy yum (7.5/10) 6. Everything but seasoning hot swirl: cool looking but meh (5/10) 7. Almond croissant: never not liked almond croissant but the paste was too liquidy and much, almond flavor didn't hit (5/10) read more
My husband and I love croissants and we have been trying so many places all over Los Angeles. We have a few favorites that we go back to. Yesterday we came to Salted Butter for the first time. A friend recommended it. Saturday around 11 am there was a line, we waited about 20 minutes. Customer service wasn't welcoming, they were just moving the line. Everyone was getting the croissants to go. There is no space to sit and eat here. There are two benches but very inconvenient to sit and eat in front of so many people. Best to have it to go. I got the ham and cheese croissants and enjoyed it. It tasted amazing. Crunchy and flavorful. The chocolate one wasn't a favorite but the plain butter croissant was good. They have a large variety so there is something for everyone. I even noticed chocolate chip cookies that looked amazing. Everything is over $6 a piece. So it gets pretty pricy. But that has become the norm in LA. They serve coffee drinks as well. Overall it's a good place to get croissants from. read more

The Naughty Knot collab was delicious! The spicy vodka sauce paired perfectly with the croissant, creating an amazing balance of sweet and savory flavors. I'd definitely come back for this one. However , I really wish the Crookie Croissant and the Earl Grey Orange Bun weren't dusted with sugar and powdered sugar. The pastries themselves were already delicious and didn't need the extra sweetness. The sugar overpowered their flavors. read more
The French onion danish was so tasty with the perfectly flakey crust, the sweetness of the caramelised onions and the saltiness from the cheese on top. The blueberry danish was too sweet for my liking but still pretty good. The store was small and cramped with a long line around the corner, but the wait was short and service was fast. I knew to come early, and I knew to expect a line. And I was in a good mood to do it all because I'm currently fixated on Almond Croissants and I just couldn't imagine that this place wouldn't have a delicious one. And of course, I'm right. It's large, appropriately flaky and just the right amount of sweetness and crunch from the pieces of almond. I'm sighing as I remember the bites I took. They also have delicious ham and cheese croissant, a spinach and cheese one that's great, and a unique apple fritter one that's a must-try if you love that kind of stuff. The service is efficient. There are a lot of busy bees (well-staffed) workers pushing out a large volume of pastries and allowing the line to move along fairly quickly. The inside space has some benches to sit and wait, but this set-up isn't for sitting and enjoying the pastries--so you can't fantasize and romanticize that you're in Paris (LOL)--or take aesthetic, relaxing pictures for Instagram that make it seem like you're in Paris. Grab your chosen pastries and walk back out to the line amidst the envy of people still in line (LOL). We ate all out pastries in the car. There are a lot of parking spaces, but not enough...and it feels tight. But at least, they have parking available--potentially. read more

Great selection of pastries and coffee. I stopped because I didn't see a line as usual. The pastry order was so quick but it's until the end that they take your coffee order which took longer than I expected. I think they should take your coffee order first so when you get your pastries, you also get your coffee. Anyhow, the pastries and coffee were very good. read more
The line was out the door- this place is popular and the line moved fairly quick. We ordered a variety of pastries to try and an iced strawberry matcha. Their croissants are flaky & have nice lamination. I love the variety of flavor combinations for both sweet and savory options. The strawberry matcha was a great color and I like that they make their own strawberry puree. read more
Came mid-morning on a Saturday and waited about 45 mins. We were also lucky to find a spot in the parking lot. There's a drink menu hanging above and their monthly pastries menu is posted on the display case. It was nice to see what was available before staff wrote down my order. Once they write down your order, they package it all up and by the time you approach the register and pay, it'll be ready for you. Here's what I ordered and tried: Earl Grey Morning Bun: They had me at "Earl Grey." It was so good! Loved seeing all the specks of earl grey tea throughout the bun. French Onion Soup Danish: Flaky, buttery and flavorful! According to an employee, it's seasonal so I had to try it. Croissant Apple Fritter: Was the warmest pastry in the box! Not too sweet. Croissant Cinnamon Roll: The frosting was surprisingly not too sweet, which I really liked. Everything was buttery, flakey, and delicious! read more
I guess I can include Salted Butter as part of my *coffee fix adventures* since the hubs & I both enjoyed the Salted Brown Butter Maple Latte (Iced) here very much. It is a bit on the sweeter side, but the coffee taste was good and paired nicely with the pastries we bought. Choice of whole milk or oat/almond (extra charge). As other reviews have said, their sweet pastries are *not too sweet*. I was so surprised by their cinnamon croissant roll because the oozy frosting looks super sweet, but it wasn't! I really liked this. Their apple fritter was good, but I liked this better warmed up so I enjoyed it at home. We also got some savory: ham and cheese croissant and the spinach artichoke danish. Both were fine, had a good crunch and held together quite well. If you are a fan of light, super flaky & airy croissant, then this isn't really that. But they are buttery! I'm not sure if all of their pastries change every month since when I came on Feb 1st, they still had their "January" Pastry Menu. I didn't realize there is so much hype around Salted Butter. Came on Sunday. Shared plaza parking lot is a bit stressful. They only have 2 designated parking spaces for Salted Butter. The rest are marked and blocked for other stores & restaurants; some marked for employees, etc. I saw a lot of people just parking wherever they could find a spot, though I don't know if it could be this lenient on a weekday. Also, 30 minute time limit is not realistic when the line wrapping around the side around mid-way through the wall already takes 45+ minutes. They also had a collab this past weekend, which might have been reason for the longer wait time, I'm not sure. Either way, I may try to come again on a weekday or super early next time to try to avoid the long wait. read more

Stopped by on a Friday before 11am and it wasn't crowded, which was nice. Parking can be a bit of a hassle though--I got lucky with a spot next door, but be aware most of the parking is reserved for employees or limited to 30 minutes. We tried a few items, and the cinnamon rolls were hands down the best. Warm, crispy outer layer, and packed with rich buttery flavor and just the right amount of sweetness. But what really makes it stand out is the frosting. They are not stingy with it. It's thick and generously piled on, so you get that gooey frosting smothered on your lips also! lol The only downside for me was that there was a bit too much frosting, but my husband actually loved that. Even after reheating at home, the croissant stayed crispy. The chocolate chip cookie was delicious... thin, crispy, and exactly the texture I love. Gooey rich chocolate in the center. Also tried the whipped ricotta hot honey danish, which was just okay, not bad. Was disappointed no apple fritter for another 30 mins but I'll get it next time!
