There were only chocolate croissants and cinnamon rolls left. Drinks: Matcha Cloud - 2/5 The cold foam was too salty and it ruined the taste of the drink. As others mentioned, it was also grainy. For almost $9 for the drink (+$1 for oat milk), I'd expect more. Strawberry Matcha - 2/5 The strawberry just tasted like jam. It didn't taste like it was good quality. Again, for almost $10 for the drink, it just didn't taste up to par. The roll was good. It was soft and not too sweet. Parking was okay during the time we went. Line wasn't crazy either. I highly suggest figuring out the line situation. If the place is crowded, you will definitely hit someone with the door. I think the layout should have been reversed or maybe use stanchions to keep the crowd controlled. OH! Cute little spot in Pasadena. I went during the week and early in the morning so the wait was not long at all. I tried the morning bun, cinnamon roll, and salted brown butter maple latte. Everything was really good however my drink was very salty and I tasted nothing else. The coffee is also very mild. I really liked how the chocolate chip cookie had a lot of chunky chocolate pieces--it was a bit too sweet for me but it was still balanced with a bit of salt. Arrived on a Saturday around 11 AM and 10-12 people or so were in line, with the wait being around 20 mins or so, which was better than I had expected. We got a few pastries to try: the earl grey morning bun, cinnamon roll, spinach artichoke danish, and chocolate chip sea salt cookie. Everything was incredible. Very decadent, but the flavors and textures were on point. To have a pastry be the perfect combo of flaky and soft is no easy feat, but they did it well across the board. Stopped by on Labor Day and wow, it was busy! Since they just opened recently, there wasn't really a structured line system yet, which made things a little tricky, but I'm sure they'll smooth that out with time. Sadly, their croissants were already sold out (a good sign they must be amazing), but we did manage to snag a brown butter chocolate chip cookie and it did not disappoint! The edges had the perfect crunch, the center was soft and moist, and it was packed with melty chocolate. You could really taste that nutty brown butter flavor, which took it up a notch. For me, it leaned a little light on flavor and wasn't very sweet, but if you're someone who enjoys more subtle, less sugary drinks, this could be your go to. Was excited to try out a new bakery near home. Called to see if it was open since it was Labor Day, and was happy they were. I was told they were sold out of everything but another batch will be out in 30 minutes. Got there to a fairly long line, luckily it was indoors and I see a new batch of baked pastries coming out. By the time I got to place my order only a few things were left. Hubby and I got the caprese Danish, chocolate au pain, and a browned butter chocolate chip cookies. Hubby got a drip and I got a matcha cloud. The danish was absolutely delicious, hubby seemed to enjoy the chocolate au pain, but I found the cookie to be too sweet for my taste. The drip coffee was tepid and not hot and the matcha cloud lacked the matcha flavor. After seeing this place go insane on TikTok I had to come by! When you park and get out you can smell the baked goods through the air. I've come twice now because that's how good they are. Sometimes there is a line but it goes by rather quickly with the system they have in place. I've tried a good amount of their pastries and even though I'm usually a sweet tooth I got to say their savory pastries such as the spinach artichoke dip danish are SOOOO GOOD!!! I've had people get the croissant cinnamon roll and they loved it! Of course these are a bit pricey but honestly I think it's worth it. It wasn't too busy on a Friday afternoon around 12 pm and upon ordering we were greeted and informed that all pastries were sold out. I was looking forward to trying the brown butter cookies. I ordered the iced cloud matcha and my drink was very grainy. The cashier offered for us to try the sandwiches and the one I got was already soggy when it was handed to me. There was a lot of flies hovering over the sandwiches in the glass display case. It may be due to the non self closing back door. Aesthetically pleasing interior and great music. Went to Salted Butter after work and got the earl grey morning bun and an iced salted maple brown butter latte. The cafe was very small, and there was a short line around the corner to get inside. Once inside, the space was set up in kind of a strange way, with the area where you pick up your drinks being blocked by the line for the pastries. The baristas were very friendly, but it did seem like they were overstaffed. I also found it strange that they were unable to warm up the pastries? Anyway, the pastry I got was delicious and had orange peel sugar that I thought was really unique. I noticed before I walked in that they use La Colombe coffee. While the flavoring of the latte was good, the espresso taste was just not it, and we can probably thank La Colombe, or whatever beans they use for their espresso, for that. Salted Butter knows its way around a pastry. My friend and I showed up on Valentine's Day bright and early and that proved to be a wise choice because there was a line. Still, service was so friendly and efficient and we weren't waiting long at all. It's an adorable little space with pastries on display, but it is small and can feel a little cramped so kudos to them for keeping the line moving. I tried the Spinach artichoke "dip" danish, Croissant cinnamon roll, a special Valentine's Day pastry with chocolate and cream, and the iced cloud matcha latte with oat milk. I was surprised by how much I loved the savory pastry; great flavors that were perfectly balanced. The cinnamon roll croissant reminded me more of a morning bun (with the exception of the gooey center), but it was still lovely and the texture on it and the v-day special was perfect. The matcha powder itself felt mid and not bold at all to me, but the salted vanilla cold cream was out of this world and really elevated the drink. I see why this place is popular. I remember coming on a Saturday morning around 8 AM, and waited about 20 minutes in line. Coffee here was not that impressive to me, but the pastries here are quite delicious. I work right across the street at the hospital, and they have said that next time we come back, we can get a discount as long as we mentioned we worked there/show our badge. I always see the long lines in the morning, and even longer on weekend mornings. So be prepared to wait in line! The shop is small itself, so that line may look long but could go by quick pretty quickly. Just keep in mind this is a takeout only spot ideally, due to its limited space. I was so excited to come try this place ever since seeing it go viral. I was having a bad day and figured a pick me up would be perfect but honestly I left feeling worse. As soon as we walked in around 2pm, the girl with the black hair taking the pastry orders seemed so annoyed and was very rude even though there was no line behind us. Then the line flowed to the register and I wanted to try a seasonal drink (which most were covered up with tape marking them sold out) so after carefully reading the other options I decided on a Banana Tiramisu Latte. We were told that the menu allegedly lists every ingredient in there but once getting it, I realized it had cinnamon which i'm allergic to and wasn't listed in the ingredients. I went up to the tall blonde girl at the register and asked if I could please have a different drink seeing as I paid $8 and couldn't even drink it. She tried to charge me another $8 for a remake and very snarky and rude told me that I should be making sure to read before I order something next time. I informed her that their list of ingredients didn't say it which is the reason why I chose it but she still seemed annoyed and had someone else do the remake after I refused to pay again. I honestly wish I would have just asked for a refund for my order but with the way all the employees were acting, they definitely weren't approachable or kind at all. I had a chance to check the menu while I was waiting. It made it easier to place the order when my turn came. I waited for around thirty minutes, but honestly the pastries were exquisite and worth every minute. I was lucky to find all the pastries that I wanted to try. The staff were very sweet, accommodating and helpful. I got many delicious pastries including; Chocolate croissants Ham and cheese Spinach artichokes Danish Bacon potato cheese Earl Grey morning bun Butter croissants while I was at the register to pay, I asked if I could add apple fritters. The cashier was super nice and she added it with a smile. I also ordered Chocolate Nutcracker latte and Strawberry matcha. Their pastries were exceptional! Very flaky, buttery, rich and decadent. As a chocolate lover, I wish the chocolate croissant had more chocolate. The seasonal Chocolate Nutcracker drink was heavenly. The croissants are heavenly - they ran out of the original butter croissant last time I was there but the brown butter almond one was still so good. Unfortunately my last two experiences here have been below par. The first visit I was apparently an hour too early for any of the savory items of which I was there to buy. This most recent visit my wife and I decided to make the 40 minute drive out again because she was excited to taste their pizza collab pastry. We came at a time that we thought would have been early enough to only again be disappointed. This item begins selling at 10am and they were sold out by 11:30. Folks are coming out with 4+ of these pizza pastry while others who are commuting from out of town specifically for this item are left with nothing after waiting more than a hour or more. Either implement a limit on purchase or make more. You'd be naive to think they don't understand this simple fact. This place isn't as dialed in as you'd expect. To add insult to injury, my wife needed to use their restroom after the long drive and wait time for us to be denied once we got inside because of "how busy it is." Who closes their restroom for that kind of reason? We probably won't be coming back. Maybe this bakery is good for the locals, but it's terrible for out of towners. read more

There was a minimal line and it took about 15 minutes to get to the case to place my order and another 5 to pay. I got the croissant cinnamon roll (CCR), brown butter almond croissant (BBAC), earl grey morning bun (EGMB), and a chocolate chip cookie (CCC). Note some these may be seasonal, as it seems Salted Butter has monthly rotations. CCR - 10/10. A less-dense-than-usual cinnamon roll with plenty of flavor and icing was superb. Would absolutely come back just for this. BBAC - 8/10. Very flaky and the brown butter was a pleasant addition. I liked that the almond filling wasn't overbearing. Would love to try their other croissant options next time. EGMB - 9/10. Light and true to its earl grey flavor. Ate this hours later the same day, probably would have been a fraction better fresh. I'm writing this while standing in line. This is my first time here, and the pastries look amazing. Unfortunately, the line situation is incredibly confusing. There's no clear direction on where to stand, and the person taking orders wasn't telling customers where to go to pay. People were just gathering in different spots and trying to figure it out themselves. The layout also adds to the chaos. The drink pickup area is right next to where the line forms, so people are constantly squeezing through and saying "excuse me" to grab their drinks. Also, why aren't the apple fritters on display with the rest of the pastries? I had no idea they were available until I overheard someone asking for one. This is a late review - our visit was back in October and I really needed these pastries for an event I was hosting so we were absolutely committed to getting our selections. In my opinion the MUST MUST is the apple fritter. It's mindblowingly good. I also LOVE that they have a savory selection beyond just a ham and cheese. They have their recipes down. It's the perfect textures and tastes, not a touch too sweet or too salty. Also the staff is great and so patient with the huge crowds and people musing over orders. This place deserves all the hype it gets. My top two choices are the Brown Butter Almond Croissant and their Vanilla Bean Iced Latte. Although the paste does get stuck on the bottom, you just need to give it a little mix and it's perfect. The service every time I've gone has been amazing ! Everyone is all smiles and although it's super packed, the staff is super nice and always offers recommendations. The location itself is a really nice place, pretty small which is why they have everyone wait outside. EXPECT TO WAIT!!! There's always a wait when I go but in my opinion, it's worth it. read more

Worth the wait?? Maybe! Came on a Sunday at around 7:40 and there wasn't a huge wait. We were in and out by 8:20? I really enjoyed the cinnamon rolls! The cream cheese frosting is really good. I also liked their ham and cheese croissants and apple fritters! read more
