So disappointed. As a Branson native, I was so excited to try this new steakhouse. The service was horrible. We had to get our own menus and silverware. The steak wasn't terrible, but it was nothing like what I should have gotten for the price we paid. I ordered the seasoned veggies as a side and it came with half a head of broccoli, intact. Do I have a lot to say! We traveled over 2 hours to eat at this place in Branson. Even purchased a gift card ahead of time. It was March 22, 2021 around 3pm The restaurant was located on Branson Landing. The placed was empty as we went inside, No body in the waiting room and tables galore that were empty. But, The guy standing at the front desk proceeded to tell us there was a 1 hour and 45 minute wait. He went on to tell us that because it was Spring Break they were booked. Our group on 6 would have to wait almost 2 hours for a table. My guess was this guy did not want 3 small kids in there Or maybe it was the dark skin guy that was with us.? So we Left. We sat outside down the path where we could see the door of the restaurant. Nobody went inside. So I decided to call after 10 minutes: I said I could be there in a few how long would the wait be? The guy on the phone said no more then 1/2 hour. I told him I was just in there in he told me 1 hour and 45 minutes. Then I ask to talk to the manager but he told me he was the manager. I didn't believe him. We weren't trashy or dressed inappropriate. Just had 3 kids and a guy with dark skin. Don't waste your time and money on a place who feel they are too good for kids or etc. There's plenty of nice restaurants that feel your money is just as good. We seen several negative reviews on this place and almost did not come. We are glad we did the service was great food and mixed drinks were great!! I would of gave 5 stars but steak was closer to rare than medium rare. But hey I still ate it and it was awesome!!! read more

My first time here. I didn't expect a lunch menu to be so expensive. I got the Chicken Fried Steak. I have never gotten a meal like it! The meat was only 1/4 " and real condensed and black. The breading was spicy and nothing like I have ever had on this kind of steak. Some how I didn't understand the waitress and only got the steak with gravy on it that had been sitting somewhere so long it had a scum on it on a huge plate, no mashed potato & gravy that I have always gotten with this kind of meal. I asked for a side salad. It was good except the dressing seemed watered down. They didn't have my favorite dressing, French! ! ! There was no price for soda on the menu so I got water. Waitress did a great job, there was 9 of us. It did take a long time to get our order in and a long time before we got our food. No one complained, all fairly new friends and embarrassed to cause an issue! No one cleaned their plate and no one took any food home! ! ! ! Waitress was pleasant but was programmed! Thank you! We were there Saturday May 27, 2017 and liked to eat there as we have a Condo in Branson and there a lot. This was our 7th or 8th time to eat there and most times we are with friends or family, so there is anywhere from 5 to 10 people. Saturday was a disaster. Wife ordered filet med/well and when she got it, it was almost raw. The waiter kindly took it back while the other 4 of us ate. We waited and waited and finally got the waiter back over to us and he said it was out of his hands once he takes back a recook which sounded funny to us but oh well. Another 30 mins. go by we ask for the manager and a young girls comes over and proceeds to tell my wife they lost her steak. I'm sorry. We were very nice, not upset as we know things happen but when we asked to reorder the manager says yes she could but I will have to pay for it myself. Needless to say we didn't want her to pay for it, so we asked for the bill. We got our bill paid with a debit card and when they brought back the bill it wasn't our bill. So they wanted my debit card again and assured me I wouldn't be double charged. Well guess what it took another 30 mins. the get the first charge off my debit card and I can check on my phone to see that it was. The kick in the butt for me was they even charged for my wife's drink. So this will be our last visit to the joint. I took my wife to Taco Bell to have her very late supper. 15 mins. and $8.00 she was happy to eat something. Never again(: read more

Had heard good things about Saltgrass so my family of 5 was excited about eating there and endured the 1 hour wait. Finally got seated, ordered our drinks and an appetizer. Very very slow. We were willing to overlook. About 15 minutes after we finished our appetizer and salads, the waitress came to our table and said she forgot to place our food order and it would be about 15 more minutes. OK. I ordered a drink, after 10 minutes, the waitress sat it down on the table next to us and walked off. When she walked back by, they told her they didn't order it and she brought it to me. Gross! Not even sure this is legal even when there is no pandemic going on. After slow service and our overall 2.5 hour experience, the food was so disgusting, cold and dry, we couldn't eat it. Don't order the Large Prime Rib. I order one last night and i was shocked to see how small a Large Prime Rib was. I complained to the waiter but he insisted it was the large size. It was about 1/4 inch on one end and 1/2 on the other end. 1/3 was fat. I let it go and finished the meal. The Prime Rib was good, just not much there. After getting the Bill i wish i had complained to a manager. We have ate there many times and always got a good meal. I may have to change my mine about going back. One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. First, we asked to sit under the heater and the hostess told us that we'd be fine at a different table outside without a heater (it got chilly). Then we waited for our food for over an hour and once we got it, one order was completely wrong. They attempted to bring out a new one and brought it to the wrong table and had to remake it again. It seemed like no one was communicating with each other and every table around us had issues with their food as well. After the food was brought to the table and we finished eating, we waited over another half an hour to get our check and never received it because they took our waited off of our table. When we spoke to a manager about our troubles he rudely told us that he'd comp the whole meal, but that he shouldn't because 2 of the meals were correct. I don't recommend coming here unless you want to wait 3 hours for an over charred burger and a well done steak. read more

I was really excited about trying this new restaurant in Branson, Mo. .....the wait was 40 minutes (not a big deal). The waitress took our drink order of a water and a lemonade. 15 minutes later, she brought my girlfriend's water but not my lemonade. I asked her about it and she said "unfortunately, that comes from the bar"...so I'm thinking....I don't care if the lemonade comes from the shoe store next door, just bring it to me, but I simply say "just plain lemonade" she replies "yes"....another 15 minutes go by and she passes out table several times, so I figured balky walk into the other room to the bar and immediately, the bartender looks at me and says "what can I get you"......I order a lemonade, pay with a $10 bill and let the bartender keep the change.....I walk back to my table and by now I see that our waitress has brought our salads, but still no lemonade. She comes back a few minutes later and said" I see you got your drink"...anyway you get it. I had ordered the "Texas T-Bone" medium well......it arrives well done and it was supposed to be 17 0z.....it was probably 12 oz at most, very thin, I was surprised (about 1/2" thick ) and it was well done, not as I had ordered it. Throughout the meal, I could here the same "I'm so sorry" being echoed by several different wait staff to their respective tables, so evidently, I wasn't the only one not have a great dining experience that night (Wednesday 12/28/16). I ended up tipping the waitress 20% anyway just because she knew I wasn't happy but I didn't want her to think I was just another customer looking for a problem (it just found me) bottom line.....decent tasting yet overly cooked and extremely thin steak. The best part of the meal was the side order of sautéed onions and mushrooms. I won't be back. Oh yeah, our waitress had no accent whatsoever at first and then suddenly developed a British accent. The 3 star rating is mostly for the food. We had the crab cakes as an appetizer, and they were amazing. Lots of crab meat and a delicious butter sauce to go with it. Salad was just ok. Very little dressing pretossed on it. Hubby had the New York strip and he seemed to enjoy it, because it was gone fast! I had chicken fried steak and mashers and it was also tasty. Very crispy breading and good creamy gravy. The part that was a little lack luster was service. We sat at the bar and they place mats in front of you if you're eating at the bar. Mine was soaking wet and had to ask a couple times for a towel to wipe it off. My salad came out before the crab cakes and didn't get silverware until the appetizer came. Never got salt and pepper to season our food and hubby had an empty beer for half his meal. I saw other people wait long times for refills as well. They had 2 bartenders working, and neither acted like they cared. Probably won't go there again for the amount of money we spent for that kind of experience. read more

The food was tasty, but average. Definitely not the best prime rib, although it was good. I really enjoyed the way the Brussel sprouts are made here; shredded and cooked with bacon! Delicious! And our two bar drinks were well-made and enjoyable. I was most disappointed in the cleanliness, or I should say...lack of cleanliness. I'm pretty sure what made this a more disappointing visit for me. It started with the dinnerware. I had to open two napkin sets to find two out of four clean(enough to be wiped cleaner) forks. One of the two knives were clean, and the second napkin had something that appeared to be dried food wrapped inside. And now that I've learned this is supposedly a newly opened site of Salt Grass, I'm even more surprised because both of the napkins appeared to be old and worn out. Maybe it was the quality of the fabric? I visited the restroom three times (twice to escort my elderly mother and once for my own use) only to find it very dirty two of the three times, and still slightly dirty the last time before leaving the restaurant. The area around the sink was wet and the floor had small shreds of papers and in great need of being swept/vacuumed. During the last trip into the restroom, the larger scraps of trash were picked up, but the floor still needed sweeping as there was still considerably noticeable amounts of specks of trash around. This review may seem harsh, but the reality is that when we arrived it was between the lunch and dinner"rush", if such a thing exists this time of year. (November 27) There were perhaps two other tables occupied, so there was no reason for the restaurant's preparation not to including a good cleaning between shifts. On the positive, the staff, including what seemed to be management, was very friendly and attentive to our table needs. The rest of my table guests enjoyed their meals as well. And note, I'm a frequent guest of Salt Grass in many other cities. read more

First time at a Saltgrass Steakhouse. Had dinner last night with brother & sister-in-law. It was delicious!!! I had mixed grill with baby back ribs, grilled chicken breast, & grilled shrimp. I ordered brussel sprouts as side. All DELISH!! ! My sister-in-law had the double bone pork chop. OMG !! Best pork chop I have ever tasted!! (She shared a bite. Yum !) SO tender! The timing was of a bit - salad and main course came to close together, but I can overlook that because the food was so good. A week ago we went to Saltgrass in Branson. We arrived a little after 5 and the restaurant was not busy at all. Our hostess that sat us was not friendly at all. We waited about 15 mins before our waiter arrived. Waited another 10 mins to get our drinks. We had to wait another 45 minutes after we ordered to get our food. When our food finally arrived the chicken was very dried out. The lettuce on a $15 steak salad was wilted. We paid $80 for 3 adults and only 1 kids meal and it was horrible. I would have understood the wait if the restaurant was busy. read more

Saltgrass is our favorite steakhouse. We stumbled in to get out of the cold one day while shopping, and have been back every time we go to Branson. We haven't had anything we didn't like, but the shrimp jalapeño poppers and filet/crab cake combo are personal favorites. You will not leave disappointed!! read more

This was our first time to this restaurant. Very disappointed in the quality of the food. Prior to ordering I asked the waiter if the food was served hot. He stated it was. I asked him to ensure that it was hot. Salad was very good. We were brought four steak dinners. All were cool at best. My potatoes were cold. My prime rib was very thin & fatty. Hard to believe it was 12 ounces. The two rib eyes were unbelievably thin & tough. For the quality it was way overpriced. I will not return. read more

I NEVER complain about food until today. I have always looked forward to going here and getting a steak because we never had issues until this time. Two people at our table had ordered medium rare steaks and the waitress said "ok that is a warm RED center". They got their steaks and they were gray. We mentioned it to the waitress and she took it to the window to examine it to see if it really was gray. She went to get the manager and he came out and argued for about five minutes and told us "well we can remake it but it will be the same way". He said multiple times (5 or more) "I can take you over to the light to show you that it's cooked correctly". Why should we have to get up to walk across the room to the light to look at our steak when we can taste how awful it is?! It was a situation that could have been resolved easily but the management was AWFUL about it. We weren't asking for a discount or anything. We ended up eating half of the steak because it was so bad and payed the full price. WONT BE BACK read more
