We're pescatarians so we researched restaurants ahead of arriving to Branson. SS Dockside made top of the list based on the menu itself; however, the food did not live up to how great the food choices sounded. It was mid, at best! Our server was good, but the food was lukewarm and not seasoned as well as we prefer! The restaurant was extremely loud; however, it was not really packed with customers. Loved the salmon. Our server, Nikki, was so nice and helpful from the moment that we sat down. Nikki explained some of the items on their menu and our meal was very good. My granddaughter ordered the crab and shrimp boil. It was a lot of food and she said it was delicious. We would definitely go back when in the area again. It's your average fried food. It isn't bad but it isn't spectacular either. It's a fun atmosphere with a robot server, but at the same time an actual human server has to come get the food off the robot. And of course the prices have gone up since the latest yelp review. Drinks are expensive and taste of your average tend pours. In summary, it really is overpriced and my wife said there was a used feminine product on top of an overflowing trash can in the women's bathroom. read more

We were heading to Branson to eat at Joe's Crab Shack on the landing. After some discussion, we agreed that the last few times we went to Joe's-- it was lacking. So, my partner had found SS Dockside Cafe & Pub. We decided to try it on a whim. Upon entering, we waited for the hostess to seat us. The restaurant was clean and a casual dining atmosphere. We immediately noticed robot serving machines in addition to human servers. We were seat quickly and drinks were served timely. We decided in the Coconut Shrimp meal ($21.95) and the Sweet Pepper Shrimp meal ($21.95). We did not order appetizers or drinks other than water. The coconut shrimp were very large, breaded, and had great flavor. We were both impressed at the size and taste. The sweet pepper shrimp was phenomenal. They were medium-sized shrimp wrapped tightly in bacon, grilled on skewers, and served with rice and vegetables with a sweet pepper sauce and a breadstick side. The flavor was great and the sauce was rich and sweet, not too spicy. The bacon wrapped around the shrimp were cooked very well and thoroughly, with a great texture add. It was fun watching the robot servers-- it appears maybe the chef places the food on the tray and it immediately goes to the table? We noticed the waiters scurrying to catch up with them! The service was great. The food was really good. And our total was under $50 for two very good seafood meals. We really enjoyed it and plan to return in the future. read more

This place was next to our hotel so we walked over on Saturday afternoon. They only had the bartender and one server for the entire restaurant. Our server was rushed and kept forgetting our food, side plates, etc. I barely ate my shrimp plate bc it was soaked in the sweet n sour sauce. The veggies looked like they came out of a can. This place is not recommended for food. We visited during Spring break and we were terribly disappointed. We ordered several different things. Kids had the chicken Alfredo and it was watered down and gave them stomach aches. Husband had the seafood boil which was very disappointing. We were told this was the place to get the best seafood in Branson and boy was that wrong. We knew Branson would offer coastal seafood level food but this was way below the bar. This was a decent dinner. We had wanted to get seafood at another establishment in town, but decided it was too nice with our little ones being loud and a bit rambunctious. This place had really good service. Our waiter was prompt and explained the menu very well, even adding in his own experience with the meals. I got a fish filet with some fries and rice. The meal was very average and did not blow me away by any means but the fish was definitely fresh. The atmosphere was nautical themed as promised and the place looked and smelled clean. One odd part is this places uses robots to bring out your meal. I found this to be horribly gimmicky, but the kids thought it was the greatest this ever so it goes into the plus column. We were visiting Brandon from out of state and are use to paying higher than average prices for good food. This place is a joke! The waitress was the only good part about the meal because she was friendly and always had a smile. 4 adults and 1 children was $175 for a few "strips" of catfish and 6 shrimp on a single plate that was a full meal. I grew up in the Ozarks so I know catfish and I am sure if you put all three plates together it may have equaled one fillet. Oh, but it doesn't stop there, any table over 4 is 25% automatic tip. We came here one night while in Branson. It looked like a good change of pace and we though we'd give it a shot. It was NOT on the water, unlike some of the pictures shown, which I had wanted to eat with that view. There was a wait, despite plenty of seating. They have a decent selection of items. I ended up going with the Prime Rib. It was huge - I took it home for another meal! It had a pretty good taste, and I dipped some of the fries into the dipping sauce. I am usually easy to please. But the seafood ravioli was swimming in grease (it was seriously gross) and incredibly bland. I had to let the grease drip off before it was edible. We arrived and found the parking lot adequate for our huge truck. Upon entering the restaurant we found it nice and much larger than we anticipated. However, the music was odd for a pub. That said, we ordered our drinks from the extremely friendly, helpful waitstaff. They took about 10 minutes to arrive to our table. My spouse enjoyed his brew but I couldn't stand my old fashioned. Unfortunately, I had to send it back. My spouse ordered the Hook, Line, and Sinker deal. Oddly, it had two pieces of chicken. He liked that with the catfish and shrimp which was well prepared. The French Fries were certifiably delicious! I had the blackened salmon with roasted potatoes and veggies. Oh my gosh, it was very delicious. The flavor of the potatoes and tender crisp veggies, alongside the salmon ... o la la! A cool thing was how the robot brought the food to the table and our waitstaff served it with a smile. First time visiting Branson with our friends and they recommended place and it did not disappoint! For the appetizers, we had the crab dip and stuffed mushrooms. For the main dish, I had the fish and chips and my husband had the coconut chicken. Our friends had the Cajun shrimp pasta and prime rib. All of the food was delicious! All of us left the place very full as the portion sizes were generous. Courtney was our waitress and she was friendly and helpful. The four star is because of their restroom being a bit dirty. Wanted to try out this restaurant as I hadn't been here before and rumor has it that it's from the same owners as Shorty Small's which I use to love. My friend and I dined here in the early afternoon so the dining room was not too busy. However the hostess was working the hostess stand AND serving all the customers. She stayed on top of everything and was friendly and helpful. We ordered a dish to share as they are large dishes. Everything was hot and tasty! I also enjoyed their sweet tea :) One thing I noticed that I didn't care for is that a photographer comes around and asks if you want your picture taken and then you can buy picture packages. I understand this is a tourist town, but I prefer to eat without the interruption. Note that he did not stop at our table, but did go to every table around us (which was fine with me). read more

Came on Saturday at 4pm. Only saw two staff working. They were friendly and were trying to move quickly. It was 4 table occupied when we arrived. No music. We decided to sit at the bar. TVs were present but not on. We had the Crab dip appetizer and the Admirals Seafood boil. No crab found in the dip but there was good amount of mayo, sour cream or cream cheese, seasoning and cheese. Kind of cool that a robot delivers food. Kind of odd that a photographer tries to sell you your portrait. Weird vibe there. Ribs were delicious and fell off the bone but were barely warm.
