    Steak limp fries and shrimp
    Daniel F.

I had ordered a steak and shrimp platter with fries and sautaied mushrooms. When I went to pick up my food. I asked these kids which were not very friendly matter of horrible costumer service i needed sour cream and xtra ketchup. The ketchup was good, but the 3 small containers they only gave me very little. Like the sour cream was hardly enough to cover the the bottom. No here where it gets interesting. The supposedly the sautaied mushrooms was very interesting if you look at the picture of the mushrooms, you see what I'm talking about. Not only they were small pieces more like discuting looking but not edible words can't really describe what is was. Now the Steak was ok but somewhat tuff. No the fries are a different matter very soggy not crispy like I ordered through there website. Overall It was a total waste of my money. I would not highly recommend Texas Road House in Branson. I actually only ate the steak the rest of it i through it away. This had to be the Worst meal I have ever had. Customer beware check your order before you leave the restaurant you might be very surprised.

They also have a kids' menu, even though it is not listed on the regular menu, which is nice to know if you are bringing children with you. The staff is always awesome, friendly, and welcoming. I also love that the restaurant is located inside an old historic hotel, which gives it such a cool atmosphere -- and maybe even a few ghost stories. Overall, it is a great spot with good food, great service, and a fun historic feel. I definitely recommend checking it out.

The poutine was fabulous. The fry coating was crisp and tasty and the gravy was full of flavor. The Reuben sandwich is outstanding! The way they cut that corned beef was nothing short of magic. An egg on there? What? I've never heard of such a thing, but yes please. And I had the brûlée corn; which I may need to learn how to replicate because I've never seen this on any menu in Chicago, but it's too far to travel as often as I'll be thinking about that dish! The old fashions were smooth! Went with vanilla and loved the subtle flavors. Everyone was so nice and the atmosphere was a delightful mix of old school pub/English castle. All of it was just what I was hoping to find. Food off the beaten path that deserves a huge shout out. In a town of bland flavors, this place shines like a real gem!

It seemed to take longer than I expected and everyone was so busy, it seemed like they needed a few more employees to service the crowd. But then I discovered this is a scratch dinner service and when the food came out, it was exceptional. I come to find out that this is a scratch dinner preparation, meaning Nothing is made until you order, and sometimes with multiple people at your table plates may not come out at the same time because they may be batched with similar orders that came in at the same time from separate tables. Take for example the Beef Cheek pasta. One person at our table was served the beef cheek pasta as well as somebody at a separate table. But the other three diners at our table were still waiting for our meal for quite some time. But it comes out hot and It comes out freshly prepared, because it is not sitting there under a heat lamp, waiting for the other meals to be prepared. When my roast did chicken did arrive, along with my wife's shrimp and another diners scallops, everything was hot, fresh, outstanding and well worth the wait. So please be prepared when dinner service is busy, as it will be this summer. You may wait a little longer, but the food will be well worth the wait.
