Been coming here about 4 years now and seems it constantly gets worse... today was the last straw. Show up at 3pm, not a busy time normally. As we walk up there are a few people sitting outside waiting. We walk in and the greeter says it will be 30-35 minutes... as I'm looking around I see 8 open tables and a couple more that are dirty. We've gone to this Saltgrass a handful of times, and every time the service is lacking. When we came today we were assured by our waitress that we were in time for the Early Bird special, but when we got the bill we were charged full price. We did not realize until after we left. The service was very slow, our waitress disappeared for a while. I was without my drink for a long while, and my mother's meal was forgotten and had to be made, which took longer than us eating. Nothing was done to make this right, no apologies. The steaks were cooked perfectly, but the "loaded" baked potatoes had a small sprinkling of toppings. I doubt we'll be back. read more

I came in here on a Thursday at 7pm by myself and was seated immediately. One person came and got me bread and a water and told me two times my server would be there soon. I sat at the table for 30 minutes and never spoke to a server. I can't rate the food because I didn't get anything except a glass of water and bread. The wife ate here with our son the other day and she had a lackluster experience with their food. Food was not piping hot, like she likes it. I had her order me a steak and mashed potatoes to bring home with a 4 count of range rattlers. To say the least, the steak and potatoes were awful and they forgot the range rattlers, which I was craving the most. I waited for a substantial period of time for my food to be rade only to have the m give me the wrong side. I was then given a full check with no visit from the Genteral Manager who was in the building and passed out table several times to assist other guests. When we teied to ask why he hadnt stopped at our table he was immediately aggravated and begin to be very patronizing and walked off during the conversation never to return. Our service was timely and we had our food just in time for our appetizers to get finished up. Excellent follow up on keeping drinks refilled also. Hiding behind a delivery service makes me angry. I wanted steaks delivered to show my elderly parents (with no car) that good things could be delivered to them. Well, Saltgrass forgot to make one of their steaks. It was a DoorDash order, so all they could say is, "call them." We went here to celebrate my Mom's 70th birthday and it was a nice place for this event. They seated 30 of us in the fireplace room. The only issue we had was the 2 long tables seating 6 people on each side were way too close together. The chairs were too close together as well this made it difficult to get in and out from the tables. The service was amazing. They had a dedicated crew to serve us and they were excellent. Let me share.. it's been a long time coming. On yesterday I had the MOST AMAZING dining experience at SaltGrass in Cedar Hill. Victor and I thoroughly enjoyed every beautiful moment of our pre-anniversary dinner. For years we've loved Saltgrass, a place where there's always good food/service. Well, for years that hasn't been the case for this particular restaurant. Substandard service was the new normal, even with the take out experience. Anyway, back to yesterday "it was amazing"! Our server was on point, Marshayyyyyy girl you restored my confidence in eating at the Cedar Hill location. She was maticulous, just amazing.. I haven't seen service like this in a lonnnnggg time. Being a select member, we always have the opportunity to speak with the Manager.. I had to brag on this jewel. I said this to let you know it's safe to go back to Saltgrass in Cedar Hill. Had a great experience tonight! We had a large party of 8 and were seated quickly. I loved the dinner lighting ambiance, restrooms were cleanly and stocked! Our server was Deborah she was wonderful, very attentive with friendly service to compliment. She took cqre of us and made sure our experience was perfect. The food and appetizers were delicious. The manager informed us there had been some recent menu changes which I was apprehensive towards however, the new menu brought for a great dinner. The team cannot get orders correct even after repeating them back to you. Ordered a steak, it was not correct and told the server. He stated that they could put the topping on the original wrong steak. We informed him no, then the Manager brings us the steak that was the original wrong with now the topping on it! I had the worst experience ever! I was loyal customer for many years!!!! The quality of service dropped off. The Hostess sat me down at a dirty table. and i went to another table! I should have just left but i excused this. My waitress had a nasty attitude and kept going outside to talk on the phone while my food got cold.! I was seated by the cooking area. And I saw my food just sitting on the hot rack for 40 minutes getting cold. They served my food cold and had my orders all screwed up!!! And the manager did not do anything and acted like I had the problem. The assistant manager was in the back area joking and dancing around instead of watching the waiters/waitresses and the head manager was in the back somewhere probably sitting down. What I have learned is when a waiter/waitress is being nasty and your sitting area is dirty, the best thing to do is just leave immediately because management will be just as nasty and will treat you dirty and your food wont be right!!!! Also, I gave big tips of 30.00 or more when I went to this place, but now, I wont be doing that anymore and matter of fact I rather cook my own food at home!! I'm just tired of the nasty attitudes and being done dirty. I just work too hard to be mistreated and pay out my hard earned money for bad service. Post #2 My daughter and I had lunch on July 22, 2023 at the Saltgrass Steak House in Cedar Hill and we had a horrible experience! My daughter ordered the chicken fried chicken and it was RAW throughout the chicken. We told the manager (lady), she took the food and told the cooks to redo it. The second chicken fried chicken was also RAW! This is unacceptable. I spoke with a different manager (man) and he gave excuses how the food is timed. I told him that this is no excuse and he needs to talk to his cooks and revise the time to fully cook their chicken! My daughter ate a couple bites of the second chicken fried chicken when she noticed the meat was raw. I'm praying that she does not get food poisoning. Both managers were very non-chalant about this matter. We will NEVER go back to this restaurant. The chicken fried steak I ordered was hard and not seasoned well. We ordered two Caesar salads that were dry and lacking enough dressing. There were also a lot of flies flying all around our food all over the restaurant! Someone name Bill called me on 6/29/2923; however, I was out of state. I called Bill on 8/2/2023 and left a voicemail; however, as of today 8/3/2023, Bill has yet to call me back. read more

Would come here quite often in the past. Through the years this has still been one of our go to restaurants for dinner with friends. They have good steaks and reasonable prices.... Service was attentive and very pleasant. Ordered the Ribeye and was not disappointed in the quality of meat for what they charge. The atmosphere is very 'Texas' with the rustic theme done well, but still polished with the finer things also. Great restaurant for comfort food and group dinners.
