It's well known I'm partial to this particular Salt Grass and I've given them 5 stars before. Stopped by today for lunch and as always the food was great. What really stood out was the service and engagement by staff. From the hostess who sat us, to the manager who wished me a belated birthday as he brought me my Laundry's' rewards card to our server Evan. Super friendly, really professional. Evan was a superstar. We celebrated my Grandma's 85th birthday, and she wanted steak. So, we had a group of about 10 people, and we headed to Saltgrass. We had made a reservation, but we still had to wait for a table Our server was very kind, and the ambiance was fine. I will say it was exceptionally loud, and it was hard for us to hear each other, and it was even hard for our server to hear us The food was alright. It is a somewhat affordable meal and steak, but it's nothing to write home about. I ordered a house salad, and it was more shredded cheese than salad. In fact, there were many clumps of shredded cheese, and it was not at all appetizing I ordered a sirloin and a baked potato with extra sour cream. My plate arrived and it was a pathetic display. The plate was large and the steak and potato looked so small and unappetizing. Also, instead of extra sour cream my potato came without any sour cream. I asked for some and got a small dollop. I also asked for steak sauce, and was given options of Heinz 57 and A1... I said A1, and I was promptly given Heinz 57 There were multiple order issues at our table. It was also made somewhat worse in that after our meal was delivered it took 5-10 min for our server to check on us I will say that our server was very pleasant. They were kind to my grandma, and even gave her a complimentary scoop of blue bell ice cream with a candle for her birthday. Other than that, servers were attentive. My friend had to ask for her to-go order that she placed with her dine-in food, after waiting 30 more minutes after payments. I came here during lunchtime to eat something quick and stumbled up on this place, which I am glad I found. The server Kiara was outstanding and the manager Willam was amazing! I am part of the Landry's select club and this place happens to be where I can redeemed my awards. I asked the manager to see if this works and my food wasn't at $25 and he asked if I wanted something else. He suggested cheesecake so I won't lose my award and didn't really charge me. He was so sweet 10/5 for an outstanding service! Steak salad was phenomenal but without the eggs. Very nice and friendly people! I would come back and suggest them to everyone! Dropped in for early dinner on a Wednesday afternoon. Great service at the bar. Drinks were perfectly made as ordered. All of the appetizers on the happy hour menu are at great prices. We chose fried mushrooms which were excellent and a large portion. Caesar salad was fresh and crisp. Dressing is very good. Salmon Oscar was also a large portion and delicious. Not bad as far as chain restaurants go. Least favorite thing to do is wait a long time to be seated, so one of my favorite things is the ability to make a reservation online. It's easy to do and I really appreciate that. Their prices are higher than some of the other steakhouses, but the vibe is a little more upscale. Our service was wonderful tonight. Drinks stayed full and my husband got his A1 sauce quickly (he usually waits to get the condiments before he starts eating so he gets pretty impatient pretty quickly). We had the cheesesteaks, which were delicious. My chicken fries chicken and Mac and cheese were good, but lukewarm. I prefer a piping hot plate, but it was still good. Well, our baked appetizer came out before our drinks......we witnessed another couple arrive, sit at the bar and get their El Jefe margarita and glass of wine before us......all the food was delivered timely and the staffs teamwork in running food seemed like a well oiled machine......BUT THE BAR SERVICE SUCKED!!!! He reminds you that happy hour is about to be over if you want to make any more orders. We never had to wait long for drinks or food. Manager came to the table but did not share any information about delays in the kitchen or offer any compensation for the cold food. Been awhile since I had a good steak so headed to SG. I was very impressed with the service. Both managers on duty even stopped by to check on our table. I couldn't ask for a better waitress. I went with the Porterhouse "T" bone, ordered rare. Came out perfectly cooked and seasoned. The filet mignon side was huge, I lucked out and received a great cut of beef.
