The steaks were cooked exactly as ordered -- juicy, flavorful, and seasoned perfectly. Consistency like this is rare these days and makes a big difference. The bread was warm and fresh, impossible to resist. The sides were satisfying and memorable, not just an afterthought. Portions were generous and fair for the price. Our waiter, Keon, deserves special recognition. He is newer to the role but clearly has a big heart. He stayed attentive throughout the meal, worked hard, and genuinely cared about giving good service -- it really stood out. Overall, service was friendly, attentive, and well-paced. We never felt rushed or overlooked. This is exactly the kind of experience a steakhouse should provide. A comfort food, hearty meal kind of place. I tried the cheeseburger, which did not disappoint - flavorful medium center with a bit of grilled crust. Since this was a to-go only shall speak about the food and service only We had ordered the Center cut Fillet 6 oz with 2 Range Rattlers and Garlic Mashed Potatoes and cup of Potato Soup. Along with this we ordered the Cheeseburger with Fries and the grilled Salmon with steamed Broccoli and cup of Potato Soup . First, they sealed off the to-go bag so determinedly, it seemed fishy and only on reaching home when we actually cut open the bag, we found major misses! They missed out on including 2 items - the Range Rattlers and the cops of Potato Soup completely. And the Garlic Mashed Potatoes had no garlic and the steam Broccoli was just served as is, not steamed. Since they had charged $9 for the Range Rattlers that they missed including in our order , we decided to call customer service who directed us to the manager of the franchise. The first thing we were told there would be no comp-off ( even though we had not asked for it directly), we just sought options. They asked us to come back and take the Range Rattlers, so that's what we did. The missing cups of potato soup were never discussed or given. Now about the food quality: As you would see in the photos attached, overall packing was without a thought to preserve food quality or freshness of preparation. The filet was the only item that was adequate in taste and cooked correctly ( medium rare) The accompanying Garlic Mashed Potatoes was garlic-less and just a lump of puréed potatoes, quite bland and saltless. The Cheeseburger patty was a stiff lump of meat not quite cooked enough after thawing the frozen puck and without much taste or flavor, while the accompanying fries were actually ok. And the Grilled salmon had great char marks but was way over cooked to a rock hard consistency. As mentioned earlier Steamed Broccoli needed to be steamed more . All in all, does not entice us to go in for a dine in unless above noted issued are verifiably corrected. Overall not a value for money spent. read more

My daughter treated me to lunch this past Monday for Mother's Day - the atmosphere is just so nice and quiet!!! Our waitress was superb!!! Unfortunately - my daughter's meal was incorrect - the manager immediately addressed her issue and she soon had the correct food!!! We were hesitant to try a chain steakhouse, but we were pleasantly surprised. The shoestring onions were not oily. We ordered filet mignon, salmon Oscar, and a ribeye. We had an early Easter "Linner" at 4:00 pm so it wasn't too crowded yet. Our steaks were cooked to perfection with a yummy char but still medium and juicy on the inside. They took the Steak and Cake meal off the menu, but hubby got a NY Strip with a crab cake side - they are soooo good! My filet Oscar was divine, and the deep fried asparagus - - OMG!! I have been a long time Landry's member and I think it's pretty sad that you can't even get a ribeye steak now on the lunch menu and their prices have ultimately went up and they took off the bone in thick pork chop. Y'all also changed the salad mix, but the ranch is still good and the Diet Coke. Honestly, I had always enjoyed eating the steak there with the garlic butter, but my rib ribeye today that I shared with my mom for $40 was not all that fantastic the steak that cheddars offers as far more tastier and tender than Saltgrass and more affordable. read more

I've been coming here for 12 years if not more. I am also a landry's member. This was by far one of my worst experiences I've had at a restaurant. It took 10 mins before anyone even came by to ask for our drinks. Food took a lot longer than normal but then we heard some plates drop and we just had a feeling it was ours. It was manager came by and apologized food was very good as it usually always is. However, we were in a hurry this time and it really set us back and made us late for our event after. When we got the check I didn't expect to get some discount but I just thought man that would be nice as we waited extra long, our drinks sat there empty, server was gone the entire time but no, full price. Such a disappointment someone who has brought countless people here, and had several birthday dinners here I will NOT be back and will tell everyone I know not to come here either. read more

I took my wife and daughter out for my wife's birthday at Salt Grass. Excited to try a new restaurant. We liked the ambiance, very nice inside and impressively high ceilings. The service was slow which led to use getting soup and salad after about 15 minutes after ordering. Before we had a chance to take a bite our entrees arrived and were all scrambling to make room for them. My smothered steak came out unsmothered. The soup and salad were fine, nothing special. The entrees were not good. The shrimp was plain and needed seasoning. My steak was over cooked but ok. My baked potatoes was probably the best of the lot sadly enough. Eventually my smothering arrived for my steak in a ramekin on the side. Super disappointing. My daughter said she enjoyed the Kraft macaroni and cheese she had. So that was a positive. We met a group of people here for a 60th birthday party. We had 12 people so it was a large group. It did take a few minutes to seat us but not bad. Our waiter was awesome. He handled the large group with confidence and humor. He got all our orders correct. I had Maureen's center cut fillet and a baked sweet potato. The fillet was amazing, it was extremely tender with a perfect flavor. It was one of the best I've had at a steakhouse chain restaurant. The sweet potato had all kinds of yummy stuff on it. So good. My husband had the chicken fried steak with green beans. The steak was HUGE!! It covered the whole plate. It was tender and well cooked. He loved it. The green beans were coated in lots of seasoning. I tried them. I wasn't a fan. They had some spice to them. I think they were either baked or fried. He expected the boiled with bacon kind. I ordered two cheese burgers over a week ago for pick up. when I got home the order was not complete. only meat cheese and bread. I called the restaurant spoke with Mary a manager. I was informed I would receive a refund. I called a second time and spoke with Jessica she gave me the same run around. She told me Mary was not in. I had not been to this place for around 15 years. I used to go 2/3 times a week. I had family over this weekend so wanted to spoil them with a meal from one of my fave places, how shocked i was with the food and the service. One of the things we ordered was a bowl of soup for $12. We did this order via grubhub, We ordered 4 meals and all of the food including the chicken fried steaks were awful, tough and just bland, the soup arrived and at first i thought it was a joke, it was a tiny container with no more than 1 mouthful in the container, maybe 5% of a cup not even 1% of a bowl. I called the location the food was picked up from and spoke to some super rude young lady, she pretty much told me the option was drive up myself or call grub hub, no apology, no regret just blaming grubhub despite the fact grubhub does not make the food or make the mistake. The waiter service was exceptional; I must say, perfect. They need to change the cook. When I returned, he was argumentative and even grabbed the steak incorrectly. I went to Saltgrass for my birthday and it was a gigantic miss! It took 45 minutes to get our food and when the steaks arrived, they were undercooked... the wait person knew toward the end of the meal. It was my daughter's steak and she said nothing until the end. The wait person notified the manager. He never stopped by. I ordered an espresso martini. They brought it over in a water glass, I declined it - a martini is fun only in a martini glass. It came back a few minutes later in a proper glass; however, it was bitter. This was a restaurant that I'd been looking at since moving to Texas over a year ago. The only thing was I never made time to actually try the food until Valentines Day.
