My wife and have visited many of the Texas Roadhouses in DFW. Our experience has been mixed (The Grand Prairie location always has a 1 hour wait time. But we love the bread! We took a large party of 9 people. Everyone was full and satisfied. Our server was so attentive and gave us extra peanuts and bread. And even gave us extra bread and peanuts when we left! Texas Roadhouse gets five stars. What's not to love? The price point is great and the portions are big. The two-meat options give you a lot of value, and the sides are always solid. The famous bread with the cinnamon whipped butter is reason enough to go. The service is usually friendly and quick, and the whole Texas atmosphere makes it a fun place to eat. First time here and honestly a really good diner style experience with above average food and large portions! Walking in there is usually a line, but you can join the waitlist online. They gave us fresh, hot rolls but delicious cinnamon salted butter that was super good (and iconic!), and you can order seconds as much as you want! For food, we ordered the Blooming Onion appetizer, got the 20 oz Ribeye, Full rack of Pork Ribs, chicken fried steak, with sides of loaded baked potato, seasoned rice, green beans, and buttered corn. The Blooming Onion appetizer was pretty good, HUGE with a good crust and pretty good spicy mayo dipping sauce that you can get extras of. Recommend to share this as it's a large size! The 20 oz ribeye was cooked to medium quite well, seasoned well, and was overall a good steak especially for the price point! Same for the pork ribs, they were pretty tender and had a nice smokiness to them. The chicken fried steak was also good, nothing particularly stood out but it was pretty good. For sides, the loaded baked potato was standard but quite salty, especially the bacon. However, the seasoned rice was quite flavorful and paired well with the heavy meat. The same goes for the buttered corn, where the sweet corn and rich butter went well together. The green beans were okay, pretty standard. The McKinney location has maintained a high level of quality for 5-6 years . Routinely if I don't cook my own steak at home,Texas Roadhouse is first on my list. Tonight I needed easy and craved steak. Took the path of least resistance and headed for Texas Roadhouse McKinney. I'm gonna stream of consciousness now so hold on; Excellent family place. I counted more than a handful of tables with grandparents,kids and grandkids talking their heads off and having fun Loud atmosphere is contagious if you drop your guard and relax. This spot is darn good! From start to finish. The wait staff is fabulous! And boy does it get busy! Always lots of folks waiting to be seated. The food as usual was perfect! They keep warm rolls /butter at the table and the drinks stay filled. Whether you're drinking water or tea, the glass is never empty. I stick to the 6 oz sirloin with a simple baked potato. It's served to my liking of medium rare! Today I had the NY strip! It was pretty good with the exception of a tough membrane on the outside of the steak. I'm going back to my usual of a sirloin. You can't go wrong with anything you order from here. I usually have a salad and the bowls are full of good stuff. They have varies homemade dressings to choose from. Whatever you want they have. This place is always hopping and I highly recommend you come here for either lunch or dinner. They have lots of booths available for seating. Come the weekends they are super busy! This location does not offer peanuts. I miss that! Not sure why they don't. Pre-Covid they used to have big barrels of peanuts. Came here last night for dinner and mostly had a fantastic experience! I ordered the Barbecue Chicken with a Baked Potato and a house salad, and everything was spot on. The chicken was tender and flavorful, the potato was perfectly cooked, and the salad was fresh. And let's talk about those rolls! Seriously, Texas Roadhouse's rolls with the cinnamon butter are crazy good. I could make a meal just out of those! Our server, Paulina, did an absolutely amazing job. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Give her a raise! My only real criticism, and it's a significant one for a place this popular, is their table wait system. It's really loud in there (which is part of the lively atmosphere, I get it), but we saw multiple instances of people missing their names being called for a table. Even more concerning, we witnessed a couple of situations where it looked like someone either knowingly or mistakenly took someone else's table. They need a better system to manage the flow and ensure people get their rightful spot. Despite the wait system hiccup, the food and service (thanks, Paulina!) were excellent, making for a very enjoyable evening. We'll definitely be back for those rolls alone! read more

So, we decided to take the family out to Texas Roadhouse for a little "let's leave the kitchen behind" kind of night. It was a Friday, and the place was bumping--like a concert, but with more napkins and less actual singing. We were greeted by a friendly staff member who led us to our table toward the middle of the restaraunt. The food? Well, let's just say it was a bit of a mixed bag. My wife and daughter went for the ribs, and they were delicious. Apparently, these ribs had been kissed by the grill gods themselves. I heard my daughter say something like, "These ribs are life-changing," which, considering she's 18, I'm assuming means they were really good. They were tender, juicy, and everything you'd hope for in a rack of ribs. Now, as for my son and me--well, we both went with steaks. I ordered the rib-eye, thinking I'd be sinking my teeth into a thick, juicy cut of meat that would make me feel like a rugged cowboy. What I got was a rib-eye that was so thin it could've been used as a bookmark. I mean, I didn't expect it to be a flank steak in disguise, but it was pretty close. My son, being 15 and in that awkward "I'm growing but not quite sure where my appetite ends" phase, also ordered a steak. He made the same face I did when we saw how thin it was. "This is a steak, right?" he asked. I was like, "Yes, but it's a steak that's been on a diet." The flavor was fine, though--just not the meaty masterpiece we were hoping for. Still, I didn't let it ruin the night because, hey, the company was good, and the rolls... oh, the rolls--if you don't eat those warm drenched pieces of joy, you're doing it wrong. The staff? Super friendly. You could tell they were hustling with all the tables packed, and they still made time to smile and joke with us. They really deserve a medal for keeping things moving while ordered and ate our meals. So, in the end, it wasn't a perfect steak night, but the ribs were a win, the rolls were life (again), and the staff made everything more enjoyable. Maybe next time I'll ask them to skip the diet steak and go for something a little thicker. Or, I'll just get ribs too. Either way, I'm definitely going back for more of those rolls! Went for an early Sunday dinner (5:30). there was a good size line already. but for just myself, I was able to grab a seat at the bar immediately. Noise level normal. Ordered the 6 oz filet with side ceasar and mashed potato. Bar tender was quick. Salad was out in 5 min and fresh. Steak was out after about 20 min. Asked for medium. came out med-well and was exceptionally DRY. Not withstanding the dim lights at the bar, the outside of the steak looked like it had been patted down with a paper towel. Zero juices flowed out of the steak as I cut into it, at all. (wonder if it had been put on the grill from an overstay and recently pulled from the freezer). Did not bother complaining, as I didn't have high expectations since my last visit (over a year earlier). Not long after this place first opened, I used to come 3 times a week for their 16 oz ribeye, sweet potato & ceasar. For many months it was spot on. Then the quality of the steaks started going down hill. And they continued getting the cook wrong. Back then I'd get med-rare. After a years time, they messed up ribeye 2x and the third one brought out wasn't much better. So I gave it a LONG wait before returning. Then, about 1.5 yrs ago I figured let's give it go. Got the ribeye, mashed, ceasar. Cut was not good, overcooked. Hadn't been back 'till a few days ago. Really wanted a steak. Thought let's try the filet this time. Should still be tender even if it's slightly overcooked, right(?). Supposed to go med. these days 'cause of heart transplant. NOPE, didn't work out. I'll just stick to buy'n my own prime at the market and making sure it's cooked properly. Why go spend so much money, +18% tip, and come out so dissatisfied. Go to H-E-B or Costco. Their prime (ribeye or filet) can be much better value and a quick and satisfying dinner with time for a movie afterwards. read more

Nice people but I'm pretty disappointed in the level of service. I brought my 9yr old here for his birthday and brought our own cake. Never got any song. Never acknowledged. We didn't even get to eat our cake because the service took too long. Food was the level expected from a chain but the experience was not great. We won't be returning. I can imagine how busy a Friday or Saturday evening could be, forget about it! We waited about 10 minutes, which wasn't bad since lots of people were waiting to be seated. We went to Texas roadhouse on a Sunday night during the Mavericks game! There wasn't much of a wait, so we were seated immediately! We were immediately served a basket of their iconic bread and butter while we perused the menu. I got TT bone steak with macaroni and a loaded baked potato. My husband got the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and french fries. the steak was a little overcooked but still delicious. I would definitely get the baked potato again, but hard pass on the macaroni and cheese. The cheese sauce seemed watered down and lacked flavor. I would recommend getting your steak cooked maybe one level lower than what you would like. The employees were super nice and able to find the game on the TVs for us! While this place isn't the most upscale of steakhouses we'll be back for sure! The prices are pretty unbeatable for the amount that you get! My favorite Texas Roadhouse! I visited here recently and had a great experience. I have dined at multiple Texas Roadhouses before and this location definitely stands out! We started with the rolls of course and they were perfect! Each roll was fresh, warm and buttery as always. We ordered the All-American Cheeseburger and the Ribeye steak, as well as the steak fries. The steak was cooked to the requested doneness of medium rare and my burger was surprisingly one of the best burgers I've had recently! For such a cheap price, it was definitely a great deal. I called in a reservation for 12 and was told that was fine. I arrived and was told to wait for 10 minutes because the tables were being cleaned. Then a "manager" Aubrey arrived and told me that we couldn't be seated because our whole party wasn't there. Then our party went from 12 to 7 and went still couldn't be seated because it would take another 30 minutes to seat us. I will never eat at another TRH due to this. It was my birthday dinner and I couldn't be seated with my family and friends because a few people hadn't arrived to the restaurant yet!!! We had forgotten how yummy the TRH rolls were .. homemade, hot, cinnamon butter. I completely blew my Weight Watchers diet for the day. Totally worth it, lol. I've had Texas Roadhouse in California, and it was NOTHING like this! Had the prime rib and bone in ribeye with bake potato, mash potatoes and Mac & cheese. Both the prime rib and bone in rib eye was not only cooked to perfection, but the portion was HUGE! The quality of the meat was unbelievably delicious! I have to say it was way better than some of the fine dining steak houses I've been to in TX so far. I didn't imagine it was going to be this delicious. The potatoes weee good. The Mac and cheese was not good, but everything else made up for it. I loved the dinner rolls and butter that came with it. The place is very commercialized, but they are a chain, and is a fun, lively environment. They also have free bags of peanuts. A lot of parking, but watch out for the giant bugs at night that love to hover around the bright parking lights. Our server was good, but did go on a lunch break without another server to wait on us, so we were just kind of hanging out for a while. Wait to get a table was about 45 minutes because this place gets busy! But overall, will be coming back and bringing my California visitors to this place. read more

Our drinks didn't take long and we order an appetizer shortly followed by our meal. The table fills quickly but I appreciated the timing and routine clearing. Wonderful steak!!! Haven't been here in a while but glad I came back. Only about a 10 minute wait for a Monday night, big booth with lots of room so it's great for large groups or families! Of course, the bread rolls are irresistible and delicious dipped in their creamy butter, just wow! We ordered a combo appetizer with fried pickles, tater skins and boneless wings which were all subpar. I would describe everything except the steak and rolls subpar as well. Steak was undercooked the first go, they took it back and it was perfect on 2nd try. I think this establishment cuts corners on everything but the steak so they can give you a great piece of meat for a very decent price, which I'm ok with. Service was wonderful and food was quick. Honestly food wise it's seems like this place scarified the quality of all the dishes in order to sell a good steak cheap. The appetizers were horrible(it's hard to make fry food that bad) the sides were bland and made from low quality ingredients. The rolls were amazing though a little too sweet for me. The steak was the king of this meal it was good quality and priced with sanity in mind. I do have good good words for the service and staff, they were fast, kind and caring. Grilled Salmon was excellent. Mashed potatoes and Cesar salad. All perfect. Salmon not overcooked and Lexy was very attentive. Second dish was Barbecue Chicken with rice and house salad. The kids meals and the regular menu are the same portion and it's not worth paying 20 for a "Texas sized combo" with "two sides". I got barely one side of my steak fries and the chicken made me sad. Overall I would recommend dining in, so you get your moneys worth. The staff is friendly and welcoming! And the vibe in the restaurant is great. Just wish the kitchen had higher standards for how they treated their pick up customers. I got the chicken critters and ribs combo, and this is what it looked like. Not the best visit tonight. First, my salad came out 30 seconds before my steak. I didn't get to enjoy it. My steak was medium, I asked for med rare, but I ate it. After a few bites the manager, I think, ask how dinner was. I said up front that I'll eat it, but I told him what happened. He then offered another side, at first I said no, not to worry about it. He then rattled off sides and when he said shrimp, I stoped him there and said the shrimp. Well, guess what didn't show up, the shrimp. Never mind the fact my tea glass was empty the last half of my meal. I'm very disappointed in this specific restaurant, the first time I've been to this one. SALLY R SMITH One evening last week my friends and I decided to have dinner at The Texas Road House, Muncie, Indiana. There were eight of us. At least three of us chose "Fall off the Bone" Ribs. Ha-ha! There was hardly any meat to fall off the bone and it was tough and burnt! Mine was the worst! When it arrived there were three little bits which looked like black rocks. The ribs were so charred that they were completely inedible! I don't even know why it was served to me, unless it was meant to be funny! Not only that, but the server was a very surly young man. Because there were so many of us sitting at the table with a small extension, it was very crowded; but he didn't bother to remove any of the used plates in order to make room for our next course. I was sitting at the far end of the table (by the wall) and I am quite deaf and he seemed to be quite impatient with me because I couldn't hear him. My husband ordered prime rib - it was barely lukewarm, but more edible than mine. No-one had a meal that they were satisfied with. We did not go there a second time. We are in this town once a year - let's hope that next year this location will have got better, otherwise it will be crossed off our list of venues to go to during the week. read more

Amazing food and customer service! My friends and I order food for takeout here when they were close to closing. We managed to order online and drove a short distance for pickup. On our way there, they called a couple of times to inform us that our order was ready for pickup. Upon arrival, you receive a text message and reply with your parking location then someone brings your order directly to you. The salmon, grilled shrimp, broccoli, mashed potatoes, and the rolls were all delicious. Although it's a bit pricey, you get a lot of food for your money; definitely worth it. read more
