I went with the meatloaf since I kept seeing people call it the best thing on the menu, and they were right. It came topped with that house glaze and a pile of mashed potatoes, and it honestly tasted like something my grandma would have put in front of me on a Sunday. We also tried the pot roast, which was fall apart tender, and made room for the cobbler at the end even though we were stuffed. Big portions, fair prices, and the service was warm without being over the top. There is a sweet little story behind the name too if you flip the menu over. This has quietly become one of our regular stops in McKinney and I do not see that changing, especially with the great service and atmosphere!

The taco salad was just okay , my husband liked it more than I did, but it wasn't something I'd personally crave. The burger, however, was great ! The meat was cooked just right , juicy and tender. The French fries were very flavorful, though slightly on the oily side. For dessert, I tried the cheesecake brûlée and really enjoyed it. The top was nicely burnt, just the way it should be. I also ordered the sangria , I have to say it wasn't really my taste, but my husband liked it since it was on the stronger side. Overall, a good experience and I wouldn't be opposed to coming back .

Hopdoddy is a cool spot to have drinks. I enjoy sipping on the LIL Larry adult beverage. It's cold, refreshing and packs a big punch. LIL Larry makes me feel PROUD! It has a good taste. The bar is a fun setting and the staff is friendly. The happy hour menu offers a variety of drinks. It's clean at this location. They offer a variety of seating options. Next time I will eat it's been awhile since I have been to Hopdoddy. Eventually I may switch to a BIG Larry, but for now little Larry works!

I spent over $45 for two burgers and fries....wow...so not worth it. I paid over $9 for the worst French Fries I have tasted in a long time.....I mean it's French fries.....if you charge that much money then the fries should be spectacular. But, I also ordered the sweet potatoes french fries and it was good....not the best I have ever tasted, but good. This was a first and last time experience. I wish someone warned me to not waste my money. Consider this your warning. I will tell you that I told you so, if you go anyway....you will hear my voice after you finish eating saying....."I told you so." Good luck people and stay safe out there.

The Common Table (DFW Area)…read more How Did We Get Here? Somewhere between "just grabbing a bite" and curating a whole vibe... you realize not every table is common. And this one? Understood the assignment. I landed at The Common Table looking for something easy--but what I got was an experience that felt intentional, social, and just elevated enough to make you stay longer than planned. Let's get into it. The Atmosphere: Indoor-outdoor energy with a patio that breathes. Dim lighting, soft conversation, a little buzz--but never overwhelming. It's giving: date night, business casual meet-up, or "let's decompress after a long day" energy. The Menu: Extensive--but not chaotic. From elevated comfort food to curated cocktails, it's clear this place is designed for options and experience. This isn't fast dining--it's stay a while dining. The Crowd: A mix of professionals, creatives, and people who understand that where you go matters just as much as what you order. Translation? You're in the right room. The Experience: Easy flow. Good pacing. The kind of place where conversation lingers and no one is rushing you out the door. And honestly... that's rare. Final Thought: If you're anywhere near DFW and looking for a space that balances elevated without trying too hard--this is your move. Because sometimes the best places aren't the loudest... they're the ones that feel right the moment you walk in. And somehow, some way... we ended up exactly where we were supposed to be. -- How Did We Get Here?

Both were flavorful, and the sauces had a nice kick. I ordered the Cajun chicken pasta, which tasted good, but the pasta was overcooked. The same issue came up with my daughter's mac and cheese. With how saucy both dishes were, an al dente noodle would have been better, but it wasn't a dealbreaker. Service was good, and everyone else enjoyed their meals. The real highlight was the music bingo happening during our visit. We played, won a round, and walked away with a $25 gift card, so we'll definitely be back to try other items.
