We love to visit all the Saltgrass locations, we were sitting at the patio, the host was friendly but she ignored the fact that the table and chairs were super dirty with much dust all over them. She stated that, "all the tables were like that." Who wants to sit on a pile of dust and eat on a table with so much dust? I asked for a napkin or something to clean it myself, she brought a paper napkin, instead of asking an associate to clean it... I used a cloth napkin from my table. Bri came to serve us and she was nice, and friendly.

Tried something new today and it's going to be my go to for a while now. The vaquero tacos are no jokeeee. 2 large brisket tacos, comes with a side. They are not on the lunch menu but their lunch is also amazing it goes until 6pm on weekdays. Service is always great, food is consistently great as well.

Salt grass had amazing lunch specials! The appetizer with brussel sprouts was not all that great but the 10oz steak was very good and forfilling. The vegetable sides and baked potatoes was amazing! The Service was good! Only downer is to get those happy hour prices you have to eat at the bar. I had sangria but they did not put they heart and soul into making that one but the happy hour prices is very good. The Ambiance was simple nothing to out the ordinary.

Wow. Just wow. I came to Saltgrass in New Caney, TX on a Wednesday around 8 PM and ordered a side of shrimp at the bar. Somehow, I was charged for a full order. When I questioned it, the manager literally took the leftover shrimp off my plate--as proof to justify charging me for a full order. I nearly choked when she said it. So, I handed her the entire plate. She looked hungry anyway. No apology. No accountability for the bartender's mistake. Just a manager treating me like I was trying to pull a fast one, despite the obvious portion size left. That's exactly why I ordered a side, not a full entrée. It wasn't my fault. It wasn't the shrimp's fault. But what a waste--and what a way to treat a customer.

My 1st time here, the loud music almost turned me off. Nevertheless, the food and the service (by Jason) were good. I like the spinach salad and I was surprised how good it was - Greens (spinach), had protein (egg), and crunch from the nuts. If ever I have the chance to comeback I plan to order it.

The day after Christmas and my wife and I were gifted two $50 gift cards... Obviously, based on my past experiences with this Salt Grass location, I was not too thrilled to have gotten them, but again my wife asked me to take her to Salt Grass.... as the saying goes " Happy wife, happy life." The time is 8:15pm. As we walked in we were greeted by the hostess in less than 5 minutes. I was very pleased to be seated immediately with the accommodation of a high chair. The restaurant was clean and you could see Beverly the manager on duty watching every table and every employee, which made it a pleasant surprise considering the last time I came the manager on duty was chatting it up with another employee. We were almost immediately greeted by our server Betty once we were sat. She gave us the special and the drink menu. We ordered waters and the fried peppers and pickles appetizer. Within a matter of minutes we had our appetizer....HOT! I thought, "So far, so good." Betty came by shortly after we got the appetizer to take our order. I ordered the Cajun Steak (medium rare) and my wife ordered the Shrimp Pasta. My potato soup came out and I was again surprised how hot and visually pleasing it was. We made some small talk with Betty about our baby and of course my past experience with this particular Salt Grass location. I don't know but something felt different from the moment we walked in.. I did notice that the manager from my last post wasn't there. So far, hot and delicious food, friendly server, and an attentive hostess. We now have been eating our appetizer and soup for about 15 minutes and our food was taken to our table. I. WAS. STUNNED! You may not be able to tell from the picture as I have already started eating, but they NAILED it! Cooked to my preference! I ate every last bit of my food with nothing to spare! My wife ate everything on her plate as well. So I guess she liked it. Hahah I had to find the manager and tell her personally what a great meal her kitchen made, the service Betty gave us, and how much the experience has improved. I don't know what has gone on since my last visit 7 months ago, but I did notice different staff and management. Please, keep Beverly and Betty happy. They really were the reason for this update. Regards

Sadly, that was where the good times ended. The decor is an eclectic mix of studio pictures from the attached photography studio. Random yet quaint. The hilarity of brown paper bags stuffed with white claws at the other tables lent a certain added character to the eatery. Certainly interesting. It is a BYOB establishment so you will be left drinking canned sodas or tea. Not a huge issue, but certainly sad. We ordered the lobster bisque as an appetizer. Fishy. I'm not afraid of fishy but I fully expect lobster to be sweet and the bisque to add a burst of creaminess. It was very obviously not fresh lobster. For entrees we ordered the lobster Mac and Cheese and the Blackened Stuffed Flounder. First, the lobster was no less fishy in the Mac and Cheese which was bland and not very flavorful. Secondly, the flounder was a huge disappointment. It wasn't blackened so didn't have that familiar character flavor profile. It was soft throughout. Like a pile of bland mush with zero flavor or texture. I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't previously frozen and possible microwaved. To fail on all levels beyond the service is inexplicable. Sadly, this will not be on the rotation of wonderful restaurants to visit in the Kingwood area.

We try to support local Kingwood are restaurants and hadn't been to Union Kitchen in quite a while. We arrived and asked for a table for 6, the dining room was busy so they said it would be a few minutes. Then 3 more of our group we hadn't expected arrived and the hostess quickly let the servers know to make our table larger. We only had to wait 8 or 9 minutes and were seated in the side dining room which was great as it was not crowded so it was easy to talk without a lot of ambient noise from the more crowded main room. I believe one of the assistant managers began taking drink orders as our designated server was finishing up some tables nearby. She had a great sense of humor and quickly went to get our drinks. FYI, they have both an All Day menu and a lunch special one which we hadn't seen before a their website so that is an option and is a bit less expensive with smaller servings than the All Day one. As it was April 15, they had a special small Tax Day menu where everything was prices at $4.15! What a cute idea! We all ordered our lunches and soon we were enjoying what was brought out. I had the special lentil soup and the blackened salmon tacos, my wife had the 1/2 lb classic burger and the house made potato chips. Everything was excellent. Glad we stopped by for our group lunch.

We saw it online and loved the vast menu selection so we thought we'd give it a try. From the exterior, it doesn't look like much almost looks like you could be walking into a craft store or a boot barn cause it's just in a shopping mall strip center. But once you enter inside, the dark wood, the wine bottles, the lighting all creates a very nice ambience of an upscale restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised. We were just grabbing a bite to eat before a movie and this place turned out to be much nicer than me. I previously anticipated. We decided to order off of the Happy Hour menu so that we could try several things. We got the queso dip of course...because, when in Texas...We also got the crabcakes and a cheeseburger with truffle fries. They had some great drink specials, but we got ice tea instead. That was plenty of food for two of us to share. Out of the three items that we ordered off the Happy Hour menu, I would say the cheesburger was the best! The bun was small enough to not be overwhelming and the meat had a very nice barbecue taste. The crabcakes were OK as was the queso. Our waiter gave excellent service! Can't remember his name, but he was tall and I believe had dirty blonde hair. The entire meal was super yummy with excellent service and convenient. Couldn't ask for more. We definitely recommend this place. We wanted to get beignets for dessert, but we were too full to order anything else. Oh and if you go at Happy Hour, even if you're not drinking, everything on the Happy Hour menu is 50% off. Check it out!

It's clear the restaurant is very intentional about their food choices. The manager even wrote a personalized birthday card for me and gave us a follow up call the next day to check in on our experience which was very kind of them. In regards to the food, it was delicious but we didn't find it exceptional enough to justify the high price point. The meal started off with complimentary bread service that you could choose with sea salt or garlic parmesan topping. The bread was so fluffy, warm, and comforting. We ordered the Braised Pork Belly, which was surprisingly tender and juicy, and the sauce complimented it very well. We ordered the regular size bone-in KC Strip to share. It was a huge portion and they give you extremely hot plates so that the steak stays warm and sizzly on your plate once you eat it. We were pretty impressed by how juicy and tender it was. The corn creme brulee and Boursin cheese whipped potatoes we had as sides were great complements to the dish. At the end of our meal, they treated us with a complimentary Cookies and Cream Popcorn Sundae which was super unique and really delicious. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant if you're willing to ball out and celebrate for a special night.

From the moment we entered, we were treated like special guests. The ambiance is rich, but not overdone or stuffy. Simply classic and relaxing. Our booth felt private and unhindered by conversations of nearby diners or wait staff bustling past. Our cocktails were perfect. The calimari we ordered as an appetizer was probably the most tender and delicious either of us have ever had. And when our burgers arrived, I was so happy. It was exactly what I had set my mind on when selecting my birthday dinner experience. The blend of brisket and chuck was absolutely delicious, set atop a perfectly buttered toasted bun, with some crispy onion straws on top. And the fries... oh my! I rarely if ever eat fried food - so clearly this was my big day to completely go off my standard fare, but those fries had the perfect crunch and flavor. Apparently, when my husband made our resv, he told them it was my birthday, so our server brought out a delightful complimentary spiced cake dessert after we were finished eating - for us to share. It was the perfect finish to an already amazing meal. Thank you to the entire staff at The Chefs Table yesterday, for helping to create a memorable and delicious birthday feast for my husband and me.
