The NY Strip was cooked wonderfully, had great flavor and the sweet potato was a bit overcooked, but it's understandable, have to be for the masses that want it mushy. It was a lovely meal. The bar is always clean and well lit, stocked and they had the shaded down today, that midday sun was not playing around. Landry's started charging for soda water, $3.79, that's STEEP. I understand they buy CO2 and that I don't have to eat here and it's their right. It's unethical though, a bit greedy. I have done the math on the syrup, it more than covers the cost of the filtered water and the CO2. At the end of the day, they have the right. It rubs the wrong way though. read more

I took a client of ours to lunch here , as it's his favorite place. He told us that at one time in his life, he would go to this restaurant 5 times a week!! Apparently his son loved the restaurant that much! For lunch, I ordered the chicken sandwich with fries - pretty standard fare. The restaurant has a real "Texas" feel to it with the decor. I wished I had tried a steak, as this place is known for steaks. There's not much you can say about a chicken sandwich - it's fairly standard fare. The service here was very good, the servers are all friendly and it seems the restaurant is very well managed. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as a good place on the restaurant rotation in the Houston area. read more

Just got home from dinner with the family. Came here for my daughter's birthday. Our waitress Briana was great! Couldn't have asked for better service. I had the country fried steak and washed it down with a michelada. I know I know not the standard meal and drink for a steak house but it was delish. Pretty solid steakhouse! I've eaten here a couple of times and both times I've tried their grilled shrimp and fried shrimp. They are always nice sized and fresh! The fried shrimp almost reminds me of a chicken fried chicken batter with a light bite and the grilled shrimp is so charred, buttery and seasoned to perfection. They also have very good baked potatoes and buttery garlic mashed potatoes. While the green beans are cooked perfectly they can be a little bland at times, and i'm not the biggest fan of their salads. The ranch has more of a dill flavor to it if that's your vibe and the caesar tends to be heavy on the anchovy but it could just be my location! Also, from what I remember many years ago when I would eat here more often their bread used to taste way better. Now it's just very dry and doesn't really taste fresh. Overall, I would return and am hoping to try more items! read more

My wife and I sat at the bar and we're pleasantly surprised at the A1 service from the bartenders, especially Oscar. He kept checking in on us to make sure our drinks were filled if we wanted and also check to see if our food order was as expected and if there was any issues. The Pats ribeye was cooked to perfection. The potato soup I could eat that 24 seven. I was not expecting great service being at the bar, but I was pleasantly surprised. I came in after a hard day work and left with my stomach full and a couple of drinks. This is a wonderful establishment to come to, and I will be back because of the pleasant service. They continuously filled my water glass when it was empty, even though the bar was busy. I gave all three of the bartenders five stars. I will be back. read more

One of my faves that some overlook. Amazing ambience at every visit with top tier service. We have hosted family days, business meetings, church groups and more. One of my favorite Date Night spots when we don't want a large crowd or go crazy spending. We always get the Range Rattlers for appetizer and also they make fried green beans like the asparagus and I pair with that bomb buttermilk ranch dressing. For entrees wife always gets chicken fried chicken and shrimp and I get Pat's Ribeye 16oz Med Rare or Silverstar Porterhouse 22oz Med Rare and never have any issues. Great cocktail offerings for sure. Desserts are so amazing as well. read more

I went in today to use a gift card I had received as a gift. As usual, the place was clean and inviting as I walked in. We were seated immediately by the hostess. She was friendly. Our server Brianna greeted us shortly after and suggested drinks. She was also friendly. We gave our drink order and I ordered the Range Rattlers, of course. They were good, but not as good as all the previous times I've had them. I could tell they were a bit overcooked. The fried onions were also overcooked. They had a slight burnt flavor, but not unpleasant. I ordered the tenderloin tips and was not disappointed. The meat was tender and full of flavor. Brianna was attentive throughout our meal. Me and my 90 year old great grandmother attended a Mother's Day dinner at your establishment with family, on Saturday may 9th. When our meal was brought to our table, a whole bowl of hot potatoe soup was dropped on top of my great grandmothers face. Luckily my cousin was sitting beside her and immediately wiped the hot soup off her face before it could blister, it was so hot. Yes we did get an apology and my great grandmother said she was okay, but nothing was offered for the inconvenience. Her food wasn't taken off, they didn't offer anything. Most establishments would loose sleep if an event like this occurred and especially when their employees didn't do anything to take care of the situation. Also, 90% of customers would have probably tried to sue salt grass for the way this was handled. My great grandmother is not that person, but upper management has to recognize that this was handled terribly. I will make sure not to visit this salt grass again and hopefully other salt grass locations will not handle this type of situation the way this location did. read more

After trying this location 4 times we finally decided it was the last. Service is so bad I don't what I was thinking going back after the first time. Food is ok. Meat quality seems to be getting worse and flavors mediocre. I remember Saltgrass used to be really big on customer service but apparently this location didn't get the memo.
