Me and my husband pass this establishment all the time, and the parking lot is always packed! So we finally decided to give it a try for Friday date night.. The place looks much bigger from the outside (not that much seating). Overall, the food was very delicious! The bar service was a little delayed, as expected during happy hour at the bar area. This was my first time eating here. We were coming back from a trip and it was near our path home. My date had been here before. I wanted a good cheeseburger and sweet potato fries (no up-charge!) and that is what I got after somewhat of a wait. I also tried a pricey beer ($8) Mortal Wombat IPA on tap. I gotta tell you- it was great! Just note it has 6.7% alcohol. My date had the chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. Which she thoroughly enjoyed. For dessert we had a mini Spice Bundt cake with vanilla ice cream. Great dessert! I have never had anything like it before at a restaurant. The server, Ramonna, was attentive and friendly, adding to the good experience. Now for the down side: 1. I received a Supplemental Fee $1.41 - gotta find out what that is all about. (Update: this is a fee for using a credit card) 2. No military discount. Not only is this unpatriotic it is not in keeping with the proud tradition of the south and especially South Carolina. (Update: They do donate to a veteran charity according to their correspondence. However, this does not change how veterans, who are paying customers, are regarded.) The service here was great. Ashley was our waitress and she was terrific. I wish I could say the same for the food. I had the seared scallops with creamy grits and sautéed spinach. Excellent. Made a reservation since it was our first time and it was Fri. Our table was already set up when we arrived. We started with homemade Pina Coladas. Very tasty and refreshing. I had beef medallions with garlic mashed potatoes served with a house salad. My husband had fried shrimp with fries and cole slaw. We both enjoyed the food and atmosphere. A small group of us came for quick drink while we waited on a wedding party to show up nearby for a rehearsal dinner. The environment was very laid back and casual. For a Friday evening (around 5 pm) it was fairly empty. Despite being on the Saluda River, there is no outdoor seating which kind of seems like a missed opportunity. For drinks we ordered a margarita and a tequila sunrise. The drinks were good but not very strong. We did look over the menu and prices seemed decent. And the plates looked good floating by! My husband and I finally got to visit this restaurant and I would say overall the place is great! We came on a Tuesday night and it was fairly busy. We got seated right away and were seen by a waitress just as quick. We ordered the SRG Spuds and they were 7/10. We felt like they needed to melt the cheese more; however, their ranch is to die for!! It's so good! My husband ordered the 12oz NY Strip medium rare, fried shrimp, Mac & cheese, and a side of fried okra. His steak was cooked perfectly! The shrimp was an amazing addition. And the Mac & cheese... wow, just wow! It tasted home made & had so much flavor. I ordered a side house salad & grilled salmon that came with corn risotto and spinach. The house salad was really good with the ranch. The salmon was cooked perfectly and paired very well with the corn risotto; however, the spinach was okay. For dessert, we got the dessert quesadilla & it was good, but we could've went without it. I wish they had more dessert options, but if one just wants savory food, this place is it! read more

Very good! There were four of us, and we all took advantage of the Monday prime rib special with two sides for $11. We all ordered a variety of sides, from cole slaw to mashed sweet potatoes to mac n cheese, and everything was delicious. The prime rib was flavorful but somewhat dry, but was still very tasty with help from the au jus and horseradish. Our server, Michelle, was friendly and kept our glasses filled. The restaurant itself is a large space, formerly a mill, with high ceilings and an upscale, rustic ambiance. With the river running next to it, it seems like it would be a nice setting for an event. Its a nice building beside the river, very picturesque.... "And i do not Relish beating up on a business post covid". BUT the food was okay, but not up to the price we paid, we started off with the artichoke dip. It was okay just okay. With ordinary tortilla chips. We then had a plate of fried seafood, no sauce and when we asked we got a yucky over sweet ketchup. The chef should create a signature sauce to go with fried seafood. And make it pop. The cocktails are not good ,over sweet and no heart in the making ,as if they were made by some one who does not drink or even enjoy one themselves. It was not a bad experience. Wow! We were not expecting this place to be so beautiful inside. We passed by the restaurant/bar (mostly bar) and decided to check it out for a beer while on our way somewhere else. Outside, the large building is right on the river, and really had a stunning view. Inside all looks upscale and brand new! We sat down at the bar, which takes up maybe a third of the inside-it's huge, and although we initially only wanted beer, we felt compelled to try their fried green tomatoes. They were really great, and came with a ton of pimento cheese. Even my boyfriend, a lover of pimento, thought it was too much cheese. However, the tomato salsa-esque sweet chutney it came with was so delicious, but minimal, so we got a whole thing of it on the side and loaded up on that, which really knocked the tomatoes out of the park. I hope to come back here soon to try some other menu items! On a side note, if they built a patio outside overlooking the river, this would easily become our number one local hangout! There's a few tables outside by the entrance, but they're very much in the shade and without the amazing river view. read more
