I've been wanting to try this newer restaurant in Rocky Hill for a long time. It was recommended by my Italian hairdresser lol. I heard reservations are recommended on the weekends so we snuck in on a Thursday evening before it got too crowded. The restaurant is busy with lots of good chatter. We sat in the large main room and could see every dinner made to order coming out of the kitchen steaming. We ordered the famous cheesy garlic bread. It was too good! Then tried the calamari which was delicious. Next we ordered chicken parmigiana and two shrimp pasta dinners. Absolutely delish! What REALLY impressed me aside from the food was the staff. Our waitress Nancy was wonderful and was always checking on us even though she was so busy. Always with a smile on her face too. We also had at least two managers stop at our table to check on us (I'm sorry if I forgot some names). You could tell the staff here is very experienced and knows how to make their customers feel comfortable and satisfied. I can't wait to come back ( and maybe try the bar area which looked very nice too). If I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would. Thanks for a great night! We'll be back!! read more

We met friends this Saturday for dinner here,our first time going. I felt funny taking pictures while with our friends so I will just have to do a written review. We started with a round of the cherry limeade cocktails which were well made and tasty. We ordered the garlic bread and calamari to split and start our meals. Both arrived fresh and hot. The bread was crispy on the bottom yet soft inside covered with cheese and garlic, very tasty. The calamari was both small rings and tentacles plus hot peppers lightly fried and dressed with drizzle of aoli, very good. I decided on the Sunday supper, a moderate sized bowl of linguini with sauce a two massive meatballs. My wife got the meatball salad which was topped with two of the same massive meatballs. The other couple got the steak special,NY strip grilled with veggies and roasted potatoes and the rose pasta dish. Firstly, let me say every meal arrived steaming hot ,with exception of the salad of course (but the meatballs were hot). My dinner was delicious and the meatballs were moist ,full of flavor and not tasting of sitting in a warmer for hours. My wife loved hers as well. Our companions both enjoyed their meals . Overall, we were quite happy and had a lovely evening. We will definitely come back. read more

I knew Salute had opened this location and I had been meaning to give this place a try. Needless to say, I was happy to hear it had been chosen for a team lunch. I drove into a parking lot with ample spaces and walked past the patio seating to dine inside. The restaurant is very spacious and bright inside. My teammate and I each ordered one of the specials. My colleague ordered the scallop cioppino and I ordered the sesame crusted seared ahi tuna with roasted button mushrooms and fingerling tomatoes and salad. The salad was so fresh and the potatoes and mushrooms were delicious, as was my fish. My colleague also had very good things to say about her meal, which looked mouth-wateringly delicious, by the way. The lunch portions were just right and service was friendly and attentive. I think the structure lends itself to loud acoustics, even at 1/3 capacity so bear that in mind if you are looking for a quieter dining experience. I am looking forward to return and I hope that when I do, the scallop cioppino is on the menu again. read more

I'm a big fan of the htfd salute never had a bad meal there and was very exiting to have this restaurant in rocky hill! The service was great, the food beside the garlic bread was less than desirable! The chicken gnocchi tasted like bullion cubes , heavy sticky chewy not good, my shrimp Fra diavlo was average lacked flavor, tortellini rose was ok. I know that they are new but it's nothing like the other location, I come from an Italian family and was a cook for years. I hope they work it out! read more

We went to the restaurant based on the reviews. We were not disappointed. We all enjoyed our meals. The service was great and the food was as well! I highly recommend the Chicken Alla Bella. I had the warm apple strudel bread pudding served with vanilla ice cream for dessert and loved it! We are planning to visit again. We loved the manage, Stan, and our waiter, Nate. They were both so attentive. They gave us walnut biscotti to take home after paying our bill. read more

Have patronized Salute in Hartford many times and never have been disappointed. Anyone who has ever been there knows they have the best garlic bread on the planet. today my wife and I gave their Rockyhill location a visit for lunch. The service was prompt and impeccable. We both had the chicken Parm lunch portion along with the garlic bread of course. Our meals were cooked to perfection and the portion size was just enough for lunch with a little bit leftover to take home for a warm-up. If you were anywhere south of Hartford and looking for a decent place to eat, Salute is worth the stop. read more

Recently hosted a luncheon for married couples from my church at Salute. The food, service and atmosphere was great!! I stopped by a week before to take check out the space and was greeted warmly, viewed the location and was assured everything would be fine. Sure enough everything went absolutely well. On the day of the event I arrived a little early to decorate the space and the staff was so helpful. Once the guests attended we received excellent service and were so accommodating. Food was served hot, timely and delicious. The staff was attentive to our group the entire time we were there. I will definitely return to the restaurant personally and for a future group event. Was so happy to hear another Salute opened! They are one of the best Italian places around. Genuine Italian food. Unlike fake places like Cava (Southington) and The Ave (Berlin). We got the calamari along with Fra Diablo and the short ribs. All excellent. Also if you ever go to Salute I would highly recommend the cheesy garlic bread and the tiramisu for dessert. Both are great choices. Just as good and friendly as Hartford location. This is a cant miss for me. read more

If you think your garlic and cheese bread will look like the photo in their ad, think again. Ours has been burned every time. Pasta dishes are small portion and come without a salad at a pretty hefty price considering. The chicken in the Alla Bella was scare and overcooked. The sauce was runny. We gave Salute a few chances and now we will look for other better choices for dinner. read more

From entering Salute till the time we left we encountered the most friendly attentive staff. From the Hostess to wait staff to I believe owners greeted us with smiles and welcoming words. The party of 6 quests were so impressed with our server Michelle who was awesome. She offered suggestions and made sure we had everything for a great night out. Every entree was delicious I especially enjoyed my hanger steak. We all were sent home with a loaf of garlic bread ready to bake at home and biscotti. Literally made a yelp account to write a review about this place. It was our first time in and right away it smelled like fresh Italian food. We were greeted by John and Sean and they were so welcoming and even showed us seating preferences. The pasta entrees just made your mouth water. We felt very taken care of by Cliff, Woody, Chris, Anthony, John, and Sean. The atmosphere was very lively yet relaxing, they didn't rush us out the door and were able to enjoy our three course meal. First time here and will definitely be returning. We booked a reservation for our group of initially 7 about a week in advance. We received a phone call the day of our reservation to confirm, and they were kindly able to add an additional guest to our reservation. The food was delicious, the staff was so kind, attentive and accomodating. We even left with some biscotti on the house. The portions are quite large and most of us left with leftovers.
