Had to go back and see if our first experience was a fluke. Nope, another wonderful weekend at Saluti!! So nice in fact, we booked 2 more weekends and joined the wine club! How could you not? The wine makes that little extra drive to get there way worth while. Their wine is only sold at the winery. This time we only hung out at the winery enjoying some great R&R - only to leave to grab a burger at the local biker bar for lunch (Tina's suggestion, thank you very much). We have visited many vineyards in El Dorado, Amador, Sonoma, and even Napa counties. I have to say Saluti is one of the most impressive and a world class venue. A must visit if you like exemplary wines, and friendly folks with an absolutely unbeatable ambiance. Took my girlfriend on an impromptu trip to Saluti Cellars after having a great wine tasting experience at Nella Olivo in placerville. We had high hopes for this off road winery as we drove in and saw the beautiful landscape. Unfortunately, the service was practically nonexistent which made our experience unenjoyable. I can't say much else for the wine offered, it was one of the worst tastings ive experienced as a wine connoisseur. The guy working never checked in on us to even provide us with wine descriptions or offer any water on a hot august day. He never even tried to sell us on a bottle of wine... He stayed inside the whole time to continue drinking and conversating with what seemed like local neighbors or family. Additionally, we brought our dog since online they stated they were "dog friendly" but upon asking for a dog dish for water he pointed at an old used slimey and grimey dish that looked as if it had been untouched for months that was nestled underneath some old patio furniture. He then told MY GIRLFRIEND to rinse it out and fill it up with the hose herself.... I hope he does not use the same nasty and unhygienic dish to care for his own dogs, "Moke" and "Zeus". The downright lack of customer service and customer appreciation has been noted and we will not be returning to this establishment in the future. read more

During this pandemic, my husband and I were having so much trouble to find a venue to have a small, safe gathering for some friends and family so that we could get married. We were referred to Saluti and I am so grateful!! Tina and Randy went above and beyond to make sure that every detail was perfect for our special day, but also made sure that we and our guests were safe and healthy. Our server, Dana, was so helpful and catered to our every need (sometimes, before we even knew what we needed!). The grounds are stunning, the wine was excellent and the pizza was delicious!! A few weekends ago we stayed at Saluti Cellar's B&B for my husband's Birthday. We absolutely loved it! Tina and Randy couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. We enjoyed hearing their story and how they came to own this beautiful piece of heaven in the Fairplay wine region. You can tell it's a labor of love because they have clearly thought of everything. I believe they have the most beautiful property in Fairplay. Our 1st morning we went to the tasting room for breakfast. Tina had made yummy pumpkin muffins, a hearty egg souffle, a fresh fruit cup and coffee. Then we went for a hike around the property. Their dog Moke saw us going up the road and decided to join us. We had met Moke the night before while tasting their delicious array of wines. He made sure we found our way back to the "Grizzly Flat" the room that we chose. When we heard there was a Clydesdale "Norman" who slept in the barn right below the flat we knew that was the place for us. Tina and Randy are thoughtful animal advocates. Most of the animals on their estate are from rescues. In addition to Norman they have 3 delightful goats, a few cats and then the hens for the farm fresh eggs. We did go wine tasting later that day and thoroughly enjoyed the area. We had dinner at the Gold Vine Grill which was delicious and the next evening we ate at The Place. Both were just right. Needless to say we look forward to the next time we are able to escape the Eastbay and spend a relaxing weekend at Saluti Cellars. read more

This is a top-notch wedding venue location. We drove out to take a look and do some wine tasting on the side, and were greeted and served right away by Tina. Even though we just were dropping in, we were given a complete tour and a rundown of their wedding services. The grounds and amenities are truly immaculate. There are overnight accommodations onsite which were impressive, indoor and outdoor seating options, and a cave where they can do rehearsal dinners! The proprietors seemed to be very experienced and knowledgeable and I felt very confident in their abilities. Additionally they just struck me as warm and trustworthy. The location is a bit distant for us, otherwise I felt very strongly about booking at Saluti. In parting they made suggestions as to additional locations in the area for us to consider. Wow, we were so lucky to receive a gift certificate here. My husband and I stayed here for our one year wedding anniversary as a gift and had no idea what to expect because neither of us had been to a B&B before. We arrived late Saturday evening and were able to go straight into our room which was ready for us to just plunk down and rest. -- The Room -- We stayed in the Mouvedroom, which in my opinion is the superior suite because it is small, cozy perfectly decorated and my only complaint would be that the other suite has a better view. The shower had a lovely rain shower and very roomy. The bed was a pillow top king size mattress, really plush. The pillows could have been a bit more fluffy but as pillows go they were fine. The fridge has complimentary snacks and a few Ghiradelli chocolates and water bottles (which was nice after all the wine everyday). No robes, the website said there were robes, but maybe they took them out on account it was summer and people don't wear robes in summer. There is hotel size soap, shampoo and lotion in case you forget yours, nice touch if you ask me. The curtains pull across the sliding glass doors to the private deck and make the room super dark which is great but you could sleep in till noon that way. -- Breakfast -- I can't say enough about this. We would have come just for the food. Again I didn't know what to expect but I was thinking pancakes or pastries something quick and cheap. I was wrong. Coffee and creamer were delivered to our deck 30 minutes before breakfast for us to enjoy on the while we waited for breakfast. -- 1st Morning -- Orange Juice, huge slice of breakfast casserole which was sooooo good! Corn Muffins with honey butter, fruit, coffee. We cleaned our plates and were full for sure. -- 2nd Morning -- Saved the best for last, Orange Juice, an individual Mushroom/Egg frittata, Cinnamon Raisin muffins, bowl of fruit. Again I tried to eat everything but it was sooo much and sooo good. In the afternoon between 5:00-6:00 guests are welcome to go down to the tasting room and have some wine and a cheese/cracker plate which was yummy. Although after a day of wine tasting we were spent. We were worried we wouldn't like the wines after staying there, but they were great. We took home a bottle of 07' Syrah and would have taken home more like the Capiche but we already had so much. The first morning I took a walk around the grounds and pet the horse and saw the chickens in the coop walked through the vineyards and by the pond. The house dog is so loveable make sure you give him lots of love and attention hes big but very gentle. Over all I would recommend anyone to come here. Over the top value for the price and so many wineries a short driving distance. We sampled 10 between two days. Please Please Please do yourself a favor and stay here if your going to El Dorado, Fairplay, Placerville to stay. You wont regret it. read more

My husband and I visited Saluti Cellars for the first time a few days ago while on a Wine Tasting Trip to the area. I came across the information and description for this Winery on the El Dorado County Winery Association's website, and then read some great reviews here on YELP! I can see why other wine enthusiasts are singing their praises. First of all Randy and Tina are wonderful, welcoming people. When you step into the Wine Tasting Room at Saluti Cellars, you feel like you are stepping into their home. Tina was behind the tasting bar pouring. She has a very enthusiastic, infectious personality, and was a lot of fun to talk with. She made sure each and every guest was well taken care of, and at one point she served samples of a homemade pumpkin soup she had made earlier in the morning. Apparently, every Sunday, she makes a soup that is to be paired with one of the wine pours. Talk about feeling warm and welcome! The wines we tasted were delicious. The first wine poured was an award winning Viognier. Generally speaking, I am usually not a huge fan of Viognier, but Randy at Saluti Cellars has won me over. We ended up buying a bottle of the Viognier, as well as several bottles of the 18 Hands Bordeaux Blend; a wine made as a tribute to their resident Clydesdale Horse, Norman. During our last pour, Randy told everyone in the Tasting Room to bring our glasses and join him for a tour of the Wine Cave. At the end of the cave sits an enormous wood dining table made by Randy himself, and all of the side chairs as well. It's a gorgeous piece of furniture. This setting is utilized for wedding rehearsal dinners as well as some other Wine Club Member events. What a great place to break bread and have some wine. At the end of our tasting, my husband and I went out to the patio to set up our picnic. I had chosen this winery in particular to have lunch at that day because I had seen some photos of the grounds and property. It is just as gorgeous there as I had imagined. The grounds are lush and lovely, with a beautiful man-made pond as the centerpiece. At one point, Randy let Norman into the fenced in area around the pond so he could have "his lunch". It's quite a site to look down at the pond and see a Clydesdale horse grazing at a Winery. We had such a relaxing time and enjoyed the atmosphere so much, when all was said and done we realized that we had been at the Winery for 4 hours! Randy and Tina said if we wanted to stay for a bit longer, they were going to light a bonfire down near the pond. If we hadn't already been there for so long, we would have gladly joined them. Like I have said, Tina and Randy really make you feel welcome. We can't wait to come back to Saluti Cellars on our next trip to the area. First I would like to talk about the wine. I am by no means a wine connoisseur but each and everyone that I tasted at this location was very good. Secondly the owners Tina and Randy are very welcoming and friendly. And to top it off their mascot "Norman" their Clydesdale had the personality of a pet dog. I live semi locally to this location so most likely I will not have the need for one of their log Cabin B&B's. Saluti Cellars knocked it out of the park for my daughter's wedding over the weekend. Tina and Randy, the gracious and very accommodating hosts and owners of the winery, put on a 10-star wedding, but I can only leave 5-stars. Everything about the experience and the wedding was amazing. The whole process was seamless from start to finish. The setting is breathtaking and beyond perfect. The rolling hills with grapes still yet to be picked to the water feature in the background and the over the top reception area, which was quaint yet lavishly furnished to the point of absolute perfection. The guests were thrilled with the wedding and venue. We had many comments, all positive, come from those who were able to join us in this celebration. While the venue is superior and easily the best in the area for weddings (we checked them all out), they also produce some of, if not the best, wine in the region. As I stated earlier, Tina and Randy went out of there way to make everyone feel more than welcome. We rented the B&B accommodations, and the service down to the home-cooked breakfasts was excellent and exceeded our expectations. The first time I walked into Saluti was at the end of a day of wine tasting--which I'm grateful for because if we'd started with Saluti I would have never left! The wines are spectacular and the owners are genuine, lovely people. After mentioning that my sweetheart and I were chefs they invited us back to design a six-course meal paired with their wines. The experience was one I'll cherish for the rest of my life--even though after they busted out the reserve wines things got a little fuzzy. Way more than just great wine!!!! We have two very young children so we don't get out very often but were able to break away for a short wine tasting trip a few weeks ago. Out of all the wineries we went to during our visit, this One stood out as the best by far for the following reasons... This is absolutely the most beautiful property in the somerset/FairPlay/ Eldorado county area!!! Beautiful picnic areas, gorgeous log cabin style house with tasting room, a pond, swinging benches made from wine barrels, a rock cave filled with wine barrels and a "King Arthur style" dining table in the back of the cave, immaculate guest houses with a hot tub, beautiful vineyards, farm animals, a modern-yet rustic (yes those words usually don't go) immaculate grounds and breathtaking peaceful views. the hospitality was absolutely incredible and the owners went far above and beyond to not just make us feel welcomed but to make us feel comfortable and at home. The wine was my favorite!!! I am a white drinker and I loved the viognier and the chard, My husband loved one of the red blends and the muscat. We even joined the wine club :) Randy took us on a tour of the cave and also showed us the beautiful dining area in the back. Which is so cool- definitely a must see! Tina is a riot and had us all laughing the entire time we were in the tasting room. Randy invited us on the wagon/tractor to show us the barn and animals. (Yes, I said animals! They have a bunch of goats, a bull, chickens, sheep and a clydesdale horse. We even got to pet and feed the horse apples. (not everyday I get to see/pet and FEED a Clydesdale!!!) ) He stopped while we were driving thru the vineyard and broke off a grape bunch and gave it to us to taste (which was a first for all of us) so cool to get to taste it before it ended up in my glass :) He let us take a peek at the guest rooms (which were beautiful) very clean, roomy and comfortable and we will definitely be staying there for our next visit. I am not a review writer, but we had such an incredible experience at Saluti I wanted to share with everyone so they can get a chance to check it out (there is probably about 100 wineries in the area so if planning a trip there is no way to make it to all of them. I just recently had my wedding at saluti cellars. It's such a beautiful venue no doubt! Randy was so helpful to us. Helping us set up and clean up. But I do recommend if you do book this venue that you get a wedding planner. We asked if Tina had any recommendations for wedding planners and she told us not to waste our money and that she would be the wedding coordinator. She told us not to worry about anything and that she would handle everything! Which was amazing to us so of course we said yes. When the day arrived, I only saw her once and I had no idea what was going on. You shouldn't feel that way on your wedding day. When we got the alter, the rings were no where to be found, the guys didn't have their boutonnieres on, and Tina had been rushing everyone, clapping in their faces saying that we needed to hurry up. My father ran up to grab the rings, as randy gave him a ride up saying they would be right back. But Tina insisted that we do the ceremony without my dad. So my dad missed my wedding and didn't get to walk me down the isle. That was heartbreaking and it's something both my dad and I will never get back nor get to experience again. The missing rings were not the issue, we could have gone on without them if that meant my dad could have walked me down the aisle. My parents ended up talking to randy (Tina refused to take any responsibility or apologize) and apologized and gave my parents half of there money back. My parents wanted randy to keep his half since he did help tremendously. We were also told that we would get the two rooms at the bed and breakfast when she gave us the tour. Then a few days up to the wedding she told us that it was not included and that we would have to pay 170 extra for the room or she would rent it out to other people that day. Mind you, it's one building that we would be sharing with people we don't know on our wedding night. So of course we ended up paying the extra. Other than the ceremony being somewhat a mess, the reception was great! Everyone had a great time and again, randy helped out tremendously! Beautiful venue! But I definitely recommend getting your OWN wedding planner/coordinator. read more

Advice: don't let your customers see that far behind the curtain! When the wife left the room, the man pouring was incredibly smug. He just kind of gave the vibe that he was "too cool". In fact, he was being so coy and smug that he only gave one or two word smart-ass answers to the questions we had about the wines and the winery property, which was quite beautiful. As I look out straight ahead approximately 75 feet below me I see people enjoying themselves playing horseshoes and bocce ball. As I look off into the distance to my left, I see their beautiful Clydesdale horse grazing alongside the pond, what a great way to take in an already beautiful day. Now, if you're are Like many, this is a site you want to wake up to. So when you make your way in to the cave style tasting room, be sure to book an overnight stay in their bed and breakfast room. The views from the bed and breakfast room are simply breathtaking!! Just had a wonderful wedding at Saluti. It is a beautiful place to have a wedding. A secluded winery with great views of the vineyards and pine trees. Beautiful wedding reception area that hardly needs any decorations, since the high wood ceiling, chandeliers, string lights and barn animals added all the ambiance I needed. Tina and Randy, the owners are very helpful coordinating the wedding before and during the wedding. Prior to the wedding she was very responsive to any of my questions and very helpful giving her advice on certain aspects of the wedding. I appreciated her honest advice to advise me away from certain ideas that I add that haven't worked for other brides. Since we had a smaller wedding, she was flexible with some of our requests to have the ceremony by the tasting room and the reception at the Back 40 pavilion. The also gave our guests rides down to the reception on a wagon, which was a big hit. My guests said that this is one of the best wedding they have ever been to. I did have a lot of DIY coodination, since the reception area doesn't have a kitchen and I didn't hire a full service caterer. Since I just had BBQ, I hired a day of wedding planner to help set up decor, bring ice, set up and bus tables and clean up everything at the end. We got married last night at Saluti Cellars on 9/21/19, it was the best day of our lives! Randi and Tina, the owners, are both incredible people who are warm and welcoming! They are so flexible and worked with us in every way to make sure we got everything we needed. They helped us have the most amazing wedding we could ever ask for and paid attention to every little detail we wanted. They worked tirelessy to make sure everything was pristine for our wedding. We could not recommend Saluti Cellars more for a wedding venue and winery. It's truly not just a winery, it's an experience!!! Every one of our guests talked about how beautiful the property was and how good the wine tasted! They have it all....wine caves, vineyards, hitchwagon and tractor, Norman the Clydesdale horse, goats, a beautiful pond, the impressive back 40 barn and so much more! The property is so beautiful, the wine is even better and the service is impeccable!! The bed and breakfast was the perfect ending to our first night as husband and wife with an amazing view of the winery over coffee on the patio in the morning. Thank You Tina and Randi for giving us the wedding of our dreams!! We will be back here year after year to celebrate where our beautiful marriage started! read more
