I came in with a disaster of a haircut (from someone else) and she gave me one of the best haircuts I've had in a very long time. It's been two months and its still looking great. Charyl is amazing! My husband and I have been coming to her for years. Both of us have very different hair types and she does a fabulous job working with our uniquely unmanageable hair (mine is thick and wavy, his is fine, thin and curly). She's a great listener and gives you exactly what you show her in a picture-- I've been to other expensive stylists in the past but they've never gotten it right, or I've had to spend a ton of time styling to make it look ok. I've been between hairstylists for a few years now due to moving, life, etc. I had to get a hair cut within two days notice for a job I started the next week and found Charyl through Yelp. She was able to fit me in on short notice. The room she works in is super cute. Parking is ample as it's in the Westgate Shopping Center. She checked off a lot of boxes on what I'm looking for in a hairstylist. She is super gentle and makes sure not to pull at knots in my hair or dig into my scalp, and as a member of thinning hair anonymous (T.H.A.), that's important to me. She asks a lot of questions, and as someone who is in inarticulate anonymous (I.A.), it's good to have someone make sure everything they're doing to your hair is kosher. The haircut looks and feels great, the texture is beautiful and the layers are seamless. I love Charyl! Was recommended by a friend (who always has fabulous hair) to Charyl and I've been hooked ever since. She's totally sweet and not stressful to be around and really listens to what I want. Two visits ago I left with an awesome cut/trim but realized when I got home my bangs were just slightly longer than I liked so instead of calling Charyl I decided I would just trim a little. Big mistake! My husband was like, "why would you do that?!" He insisted I call her. So I did and Charyl saw me in the evening and fixed it right up, no extra charge. Such a sweetie! I will never try to cut my own hair again. Anyhoo, I now go for a trim much more often than I used to when I saw other stylists. I actually learned about Salvage and Rescue through my mom. She was getting her haircut in the same building that day, I needed a last minute cut, my mom's stylist was able to text Charyl, and Charyl was able to hook me up last minute. I usually go tight on the sides and keep the top longer. Charyl did a great job blending the sides into the top, which a lot of other places have messed up in the past. She used awesome technique on the top of the hair to thin it out while still keeping the length and texturing it. This all came along with a hair wash and shampoo before and after the cut, at under $50. The vibe of the studio is awesome too. There is cool art on the walls, television, music, multiple different products, and a sweet scent diffuser. I highly recommend Charyl if you are a guy looking for a cut in the area! read more

I went to see Charyl for a cut and tone of my brassy long crazy hair for the first time and she. was. amazing. I needed my hair salvaged and rescued asap before an interview, and she fit me in right away. I slightly balked at the price of the haircut as it was the most I ever spent on a cut, but the combo of a tone and a cut was just a little more than I would have spent on just a tone elsewhere so I just went with my gut feeling! I've been seeing Charyl for my haircuts for a couple years now. This is actually the first time I've ever written a Yelp review and to be honest I had never even signed up, but I thought it would be worth it to support one of the most stellar hair stylists I've ever been to as she endeavors to branch out on her own! I am usually very timid and shy about my hair, especially when it comes to meeting new stylists. My hairstyle isn't too fancy or anything, but I do happen to be pretty particular about how it looks, and often have trouble verbalizing it. I prefer to have a stylist that I feel comfortable talking to, and that I feel I can trust with my hair. Chary has fit that description perfectly ever since the first time I sat down in her salon chair! She always seems to know what I want, even if I'm super vague and boy-ish about it, and she is always super honest with me when I ask her opinion about how something might look or what direction we should go with my hair.
