Where do I even begin? I have never had such an uncomfortable salon experience in my life. First, communication was a disaster. We had been texting before my appointment, and I later realized she was using a translation app because she speaks almost no English. I have absolutely no problem with someone speaking another language, but when you're using bleach on someones hair, communication is extremely important. I was simply trying to make sure she understood exactly what I wanted before putting bleach on my hair. Instead of answering my questions, she kept saying, "If you don't want it, then I won't do it." She said it over and over instead of taking a minute to make sure we understood each other. I wasn't refusing the service I just wanted to know that we were on the same page before she started bleaching my hair. Thankfully, another stylist in the salon, an Italian gentleman, stepped in. He was patient, respectful, and explained exactly what she was trying to say or at least tried. Once he explained it, I understood immediately bc he spoke clear english. I thanked him and told her we could move forward. Then things got even stranger. She suddenly looked at me and asked, "Do you believe in God?" I said, "Of course I believe in God." Then she asked, "Are you Catholic?" I replied, "No, I'm Muslim." I had no idea why my religion was being brought up during a hair appointment. I came there to get my hair done, not to discuss my religious beliefs. The conversation was awkward and completely inappropriate. She then said, "Believe me, I'm scared to do your hair." As soon as she started, she dropped the tray of foils twice. She had only put about four foils in my hair before she started making me help her by handing her foils. She was grabbing the foils out of my hand and telling me I needed to hurry because I wasn't passing them fast enough. Excuse me? I didn't come there to assist with my own hair appointment. I'm paying for a professional service. I asked her, "Are you going to rush through my entire appointment?" She said she had to rush because she was applying bleach. I completely disagreed. Applying bleach doesn't mean you rush through someone's hair, especially when they're paying hundreds of dollars for a color correction. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable and told her I wanted to stop. She removed the four foils that had bleach on them and rinsed the bleach out. While she was doing that, she spilled water all over me. I had to stop her and tell her, "You're spilling water all over me. What are you doing? Dry me off. "After that, I told her she needed to blow-dry my hair because I wasn't walking out of the salon with soaking wet hair. She then offered me a free haircut. I told her, "Absolutely not. I don't want you touching my hair after this. "To make matters worse, she was also late twice. The night before my appointment, she changed my appointment from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Then, while I was already driving to the salon the next day, she texted me again saying she couldn't make it until 12:30 because she had to take a family member to the emergency room. I understand emergencies happen, but combined with everything that happened afterward, it was one red flag after another. The only positive part of my experience was the Italian stylist who helped translate and explain things to me. He was kind, respectful, and professional. I truly appreciated him taking the time to help. As for the rest of my experience, it was stressful, chaotic, and unlike anything I've ever experienced in a salon. I walked out without getting my hair done because I no longer felt comfortable or confident in the service. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this stylist based on my experience. Came here for the first time a few days ago to give Tatiana a try. A few things went wrong starting with her thinking I canceled my appointment and had to cut someone else's hair at the time I was to start. I am a new mom and had to bring my baby with me, so it wasn't an easy task to begin with. Next, she asked what I wanted for my hair and I told her... keep the length and thickness, long bangs and light layers around my face only. She asked if I wanted layers in the back, which I kindly and persistently said no. She started cutting away... many times while she was cutting I repeated that I don't want my hair thinned out and I DO NOT want layers in the back (they are just so hard to grow out evenly again). She said, no I'm not doing layers just giving a style. At the end, the haircut was NOT the one I wanted and my hair feels so thin I hate it. I have layers in the back, thinned out hair and the only thing she got right (hence the 2 stars) is the bangs. I paid $100 for that. Won't be coming back again. Josephina - thank you for your reply. The salon is really nice, very bright, clean and in a good location with enough parking. It also just got better with curly hair expert, Lindsay. My daughter and I have been seeing Lindsay for 10+ years combined and we will not have anyone else do our hair. I have curly hair and my daughter's is wavy. Not only does she have curly hair and understands our exact needs, but she makes it a point to always ask us. One example is when we say we want a certain length, she will ask if that's the length we want with wet or dry hair... Yes, it makes a big difference. She takes her time before starting. We tell her what we want and she gets it done. At other salons I have gone to before her, I was never happy with my curly hair and the cut was always off.
