I decided to try Salvatore's on a whim while in Newark for a conference. It was conveniently located and easy to spot since it's pink! I went with the $10 special which was two big slices, a cookie, and a soda. Pretty good deal! Their menu also features sandwiches and salads. The pizza was good, definitely generous portions. They had parm, red pepper, garlic powder, etc. available. The cookie was a standard chocolate chip (they also had peanut butter available) and was pretty decent. Service was very friendly and fast. Overall, a great spot for lunch if you're pressed for time and want a good lunch for a reasonable price. read more

We ordered a large with extra cheese , pepperoni and sausage. The cheese didn't cover the pizza below it, very skimpy on pepperoni and sausage. Went to the Newark location with my two grandsons, 3 & 4 yos. Ordered some slices and drinks, paid, and sat down to eat. After a while the boys were hungrier than I thought so I ordered another slice from the table, & would you believe they refused to bring it to the table until I paid! It was only me, grandpa, and the two boys, they saw I had my hands full, but still had the audacity to make me get up, leave the boys at the table, and pay for the slice before serving it! Meanwhile the slice was in the oven warming up, and was overcooked when they finally took it out after I paid! Really?! The manager said "it's policy" that it must be paid for before it's served. Okay, but you can't make an exception seeing the situation? Were you that worried Grandpa, with his 2 grandsons in tow, was going to skip out paying for a slice? Ordered 2 sheet pizzas for a Christmas Eve party today. Both pizza's were so over cooked left in oven way to long, so dry and hard they both were inedible! So bad my guests left hungry. I've ordered from you guys many times, been a few mistakes here and there. But nothing major until today. If I could rate you less then a 1 , I would have. We were so embarrassed that our guests couldn't even chew it. Wasn't even cut all the way threw. They knew when they pull it from oven it was bad. It's the calzones!!! There are several pizzerias within a few blocks of this Salvatore's location, but this is the place to get the BEST pizza in the area. I love their pizza and at least one of the employees at this location recognizes me and even lets me know when I have earned enough points for FREE PIZZA! You can't beat that! I ate here twice, ordered a salad once and a sub the other time. Both times, there was something rotting/molding in the "fresh" greens or tomatoes so there was that terrible taste ruining my meal. I have been ordering pizza here for a year and I loved it. They offer triple cheese as an option and as someone who loves cheese I get this every time. Recently there has been an issue that despite paying for triple cheese I am clearly not getting triple cheese by the standards of what I have received for over a year. The first time was clearly that the employees gave me the wrong pizza. They remedied the issue and I was happy. The second time when we went back the employee said "it will probably be greasy with all that cheese" And yet it still wasn't triple cheese. I ordered again today. Again not triple cheese, it appears to be the standard amount. We call and the gentleman who answered the phone said he is the owner and that is triple cheese. Clearly they have no set standard. I don't like to complain and I could see it if I came up with the whole "I want triple cheese" order but they offer it and I willingly pay the extra every time and there pizza isn't cheap. (Not that it has to be) I think if you aren't going to sell it as you give an option for it than don't offer that option. I picked up a pizza tonight, opened the box and it was burnt. I called to see about getting a replacement and spoke to Brian the Manager, whose tone was dismissive and snarky: what did I want, a credit or a replacement? no "I'm sorry." Probably one of there nicer looking locations that I've seen around the Rochester area surprisingly. Since it's in a rather small population area like Newark. I've ordered there wings and pizza mostly. There wings are decent and there pizza out here was pretty good actually. I ordered the supreme and it comes with a hefty amount of toppings and it's a little bit of a money saver in comparison to getting a large and adding all of the toppings individually. This place is the most disgusting place in Newark, NY. Ordered a Swiss Mushroom burger what did I get? A burger sub with shaved mushrooms on only part of the sub. The taste...well I hate Burger King, this taste worse than there. The fries were burned. Overall disgusting and I wouldn't even serve my dog this food. I'm relatively new to the gluten-free scene, and I know that there are some things that just don't translate well into gluten-free recipes. However, having recently been to another pizza place, I know that gluten-free pizza can be done VERY well. Interestingly enough, it wasn't even the gluten-free crust that was terrible, don't get me wrong, it wasn't great but it was edible. Had the rest of the pizza not been of such poor quality, then you wouldn't be getting this review today. So, the gluten-free crust is very thin, and was unevenly cooked. I can overlook that. They don't specialize in gluten-free, it's just an option that they offer to make us dietary challenged people feel included. What I can't overlook is the burnt pizza sauce which was slathered in a layer thicker than the pizza crust, weighing down the dough and making it impossible to eat as a slice of pizza. Yes, I said burnt sauce. Like they left it on the stove for about 3 hours too long, and over-reduced it. Behind the counter wasn't the usual guys we see if we go in at night. It was a couple of replacement girls, who started out the conversation with "we are closed" at 8 pm. I don't think they were thrilled to have to make a specialty pizza. My dining companion, also known as my work partner, wouldn't even eat the gluten-free pizza. So, he went back inside and got a couple of slices. They were the nastiest, dried out slices I have seen in awhile. I've never had a bad experience here before. Hoping this is an isolated event. read more

I ordered two subs, a meatball and a pizza. Big sign on door says"curbside delivery we will bring it to you". When I ordered they didn't ask what I was driving to pickup curbside so when I pulled up we called to let them know we were here. I was put on hold and hold and hold and hold, 16 minutes, then I hung up. Meanwhile, I could see in the store and no one was near the phone. My husband called and he was put on hold. I called again and before I was asked to be put on hold I said "no, I'm outside are you bringing our order out", the person answering the phone says I can come in and get it. Why are there big signs on the windows inferring I shouldn't come in? Food was good and manager was apologizing for the wait and discounted order $5. Management needs to address the signs in the windows and get more help answering the phone! read more

Salvatore's is always a place for great food no matter what you're looking for. My wife likes salads with grilled chicken and finds theirs to consistently be fresh and packed with all sorts of goodies. I like their pizza's and tried their sandwiches which are excellent as well. The pizza is usually pretty good, but the price is insane. Almost $30 for a medium pizza delivered, and that is before you tip out the driver. For that money, I'm eating steak! They used to at least offer a coupon that made it a little more reasonable, but it looks like that's gone. Also, whenever I've called, I have been put on a long hold. I can't really recomend this place. Too bad too, I like to support local if I can, but not this place. Almost always a problem, the staff has an okay attitude, some are no smiles and kind of demanding. This time, they started talkin about a tip before they had even finished the job, and then the sandwich was wrong. Also they never toast the bread, no matter how many times I go in there for an order for toasted subs. I have gone back and had it toasted afterwards, kind of done with that. read more

This was my first time ever at a Salvatore's. The staff was cordial and my order was ready upon pick up, they were prompt upon my entrance into the restaurant as far as acknowledging I was there. The sub I ordered was delicious and the boneless wings were crispy just the way I like them. It was lunch hour in a busy part of town so service was excellent based on that. Definitely love the eclectic menu and appearance of this location. Too bad google maps put it on the wrong side of the road. Wow! What a sandwich. The bread was fantastic and the meat High quality. We stopped in while at the NCAA Baseball tourney and ordered sub's. The Italian mixed was the bomb! Great value for the size you get and great service by the "Boyz" at the counter. Also you have to try the house pizza with the sweet and sour sauce with chicken! I really don't like to write these things, the truth is, you pay good money because it's convenient and you want something delicious, more delicious than you can make yourself. I ordered The New York 19 with green peppers. I was told it would take 20 to 25 minutes.I arrived within the time.I took the pizza home, a short drive,The pizza was not hot almost cold it seemed and was very soggy and wet on the bottom. I know thin crust is flexible and soft, but this was wet.The cheese was very burned .I did remove the moisture by putting it in the oven. I called the manager and explained to him the issue. He said it was normal. I explained to him that yes , maybe a soft crust is normal ,which I guess he thought I meant by my description of soggy, but it was wet on the bottom of the crust like it was sitting in water. He wanted to know what toppings I had. I had peppers which were not a lot, very few actually, and he explained that the peppers will make it do that.That may be true for Salvatore's pizzas but I have never experienced a soggy ,wet, burned,thin crust pizza because I had a few peppers on it. I guess that may be normal for Salvatore's thin crust pizzas as he stated, but I have never experienced this for thin pizza. So I have decided that I will no longer go to Salvatore's.There are other places that are much better and do not try to justify an unsatisfied customers experience by saying it's normal. Two stars because after he had said it was normal, I stated that I was not happy with it. He said he was trying to fix it. I stated that he can't be trying to fix the problem that he believes is normal. After his statement, I felt pretty ridiculous about bringing the matter to his attention. I came in here to order chicken wings and saw a few of the workers eating while preparing the food. I had asked that none of those workers handle my order. They had mentioned my concern to one worker who rudely came out to me and said she wouldn't handle my food because she didn't want to offend me. As I waited for my order I noticed more people looking in my direction and whispering while continuing to eat food without washing their hands as they worked.
