I told the cashier I had been waiting five minutes and no one even acknowledge that I was there. With an attitude her response was he's training and making a sandwich. (the sandwich must have been a to go order because no one else was waiting in line). So you can't just lift your head for a second and acknowledge a customer. This wasn't the first time I received this type of service here, but it will be my last at this store. Today was the last day this store will ever get my business including even purchasing gas. Totally disgusted with the type of work ethic these employees have. Must be an awful place to work if everyone is so rude and disrespectful.

Rather than pre-packaged sandwiches prepared somewhere, then shrink-wrapped and shipped in, here they make your sandwich right before your very eyes. One more interesting things about the deli - half sandwiches are on the menu. With my minimal appetite, that sounded like a good idea. Well, I couldn't finish a HALF sandwich! Yes, the portions are that large. I'm from Wisconsin. We take our dairy very seriously so of course, at a place with dairy in the name, I expected something pretty good. I found it, too. Kwik Trip, my favorite chocolate milk, your title of best chocolate milk is in jeopardy with the great chocolate milk from Pittsford Dairy. Pittsford Dairy, you better be aware of Byrne Dairy because their chocolate milk is also something remarkable. I'm not picking a winner here, but I will tell you that all three are better than anything I've found in a grocery store. (New Yorkers, Kwik Trip is a mid-west chain based in Wisconsin.) I like this store! Now, I probably won't get back to Newark anytime soon, but it appears Byrne Dairy is an up and coming chain that reminds me of Kwik Trip back home. There doesn't seem to be a store near my current location, but I will be watching for Byrne Dairy in my travels around Western New York.

My mom and dad love this place. My dad is no longer with us, but this was one of those places he loved going to. They both like the mom and pop type restaurants and for good reasons... They almost always have amazing food, great service, large portions. This places checks all those boxes. Waitress was very nice. Very on top of all her tables. Restaurants could benefit from having more waitresses like the ones at this place. Canal View... so the view is behind the restaurant haha. I posted a pic from the day I was there. The colors were amazing. So Autumn and Winter (if there is snow) would be the best viewing of the canal. Too bad they can't add like a back deck of something for Spring, Summer and Autumn. Eating outside here with that view in the pic..would be incredible. Yes, it's chilly in the Autumn months, but it was like 55 when we were there. Other days there are ways to warm an outdoor patio/deck. One last thing, I really wanted to buy one of their brownies. Priiiiiiceyyyy! Just a heads up. The brownies, pie, cake up front when you check out....ain't cheap haha! I'm sure they're absolutely DELICIOUS! But I opted out of buying one. Maybe next time. Prices of the plates are what's important and they are not an expensive restaurant. Good prices, good food, amazing portions. Go! And...enjoy!! Thanks for reading, YelperViewers! Cheers!

My husband had a plate of salad and a half cup of soup. I had a plate of salad, then went back up for a small dish with some pasta salad that I didn't want to mix on my plate of greens. We got the check, and were charged for 2 salad bars. We were told " soup wasn't included" (even though we were here a month ago and were not charged for soup), and I was told that only one trip to the salad bar was included - I certainly could have carried both plates in one trip had I known. Our dinners both showed "salad bar" as a side option. It seems to me that this is a very underhanded way to pad their bill. We would have been better off paying for a cup of soup and a bowl of Mac salad if we had been given the choice. After being treated like that, we will not be back.

They also have a couple of specials, like the glazed pork chop, which is absolutely wonderful. Round that out with an extensive beer on tap list and you have a winner. I had a Genessee Mango Peach Kolsch, which was a great beer. After years of making fun of Genessee-branded beers I had to eat my words. Highly recommend trying it. The place itself is rustic and relatively quiet, even though they were quite busy. The service was great and friendly, the close-caption TVs were tuned to the Padres game - 2,500 miles from San Diego and we still got to watch our hometown team. The kitchen was a little slow turning out dishes, so when my wife's Pesto Pasta turned out to be something else, she didn't even say anything. It was a pasta dish, just not Pesto and she said it was very good, just not what she ordered, which cost Parker's the one star.

The hot food was piping hot and delicious. We had the crispy chicken, spicy crispy chicken and the crispy chicken deluxe. I feel like this is the best chicken sandwich I've had in my life. The breading is exquisite and seasoned perfectly with a moist, juicy whole chicken breast inside. I ordered the sandwich and shared the waffle fries because the sandwich is so big. Another in our party ordered a salad and reported that the salad was fresh, crisp and bursting with numerous tasty toppings. It was NOT one of those sad fast-food salads that look "tired." The waffle fries were perfectly crisp and salted just right. My lemonade hit the perfect note of tart and sweet with nice little bits of pulp like homemade lemonade. I've never had better restaurant lemonade. Chick-fil-A had a bit of a wait--maybe 10 to 15 minutes, but it was a busy Friday night so one can't expect instantaneous service. Those serving us were very friendly and had our order for four ready in just a few minutes. The server forgot to mention we needed to order sauce for the sandwiches (maybe she didn't realize we were such newbies!) but that was quickly remedied, so no big deal. We will be back for sure! I look forward to trying other things on the menu as well. It's obvious why Chick-fil-A is growing.
