The customer service was great. We tried to order the captain's platter and whole belly clams but he advised that it's a lot of food and the platter already contained whole clams. I listened. The fish was super thick and we had an issue with it and he replaced it . Coleslaw was good. The onion rings were frozen :( not the string my kind. It's is nothing fancy - paper plates and 20 oz sodas in the fridge. You pay at the counter and they bring the food out. They're patio seating and also more seating in the back parking lot . Would i go back? Absolutely! But I'll order bellow and try the lobster. The surrounding area could be cleaned up . I didn't like parking in the back.

BYOB is a great addition. The food is delicious however something strange happened both orders we had were fried, with fries....they were served freezing cold.....this is extremely unusual they were definitely cooked, quite possibly a bit over fried.....hmmm! Definitely couldn't eat the cold fries. We also noticed another couple sending their food back, we didn't say anything, it was just a quick bite for us....We will try this place again.....looking forward to HOT seafood!

Also, the owner reported to have specials of soft shell crab. I had the whole bellies. The batter was light and very tasty. We also ordered the fish tacos. The order came with 3 good size tacos, fries, and small coleslaw. Everything was good. The coleslaw was a bit watery but tasted ok. They do have outdoor seating available. The portions are large.

Plenty of places around here that I would go to instead but I feel like they are some good seasonings away from a great place! Prices were fair, portions were good, get some flavor!

I ordered the whole belly clam platter for dinner to go on the phone. When I went inside to pick up, the restaurant was decorated really cute so I was very anxious to get home and see what was in my bag! It was absolutely disgusting. The clams were completely overcooked! They actually tasted on the verge of being burnt. The fries were undercooked and soggy. The portion was very small. I am so disappointed I gave them a 20% tip. I just threw away $42+. It was literally inedible. I am sad- I was so looking forward to it....

What a grand experience for a not so fancy location. As far as portions go this place is very generous. $50 fisherman's platter was HUGE and packed with juicy fried shrimp tons of calamari, clam strips, whole belly clams and scallops. The fried scallops were my least favorite & a bit too cooked (understandable). 2lb+ lobster was HUGE! Truthfully a tough location to survive-- but a 10/10 for freshness!! I hope this MOMs Nothing Fancy sticks around. They've got everything a local seafood lover needs. read more

Great service on a Monday at lunch time! Got the fried whole bellies and fried shrimp, excellent. Kids got chicken nuggets (one kid got to eat FREE) which were real chicken not pink mash! Grandfather got a burger that was huge! I would come again, great little spot! read more

Loved it! Small place, you order at the counter and they bring they food to your table. Nothing fancy, plastic forks and stuff. The food was delicious and fresh. They were out of clam strips because they drive every day to RI to get them and I had gone there close to closing time. Fried shrimp were delicious and some of the best clam chowder I've ever had! Owner was nice, he stopped at every table to make sure people were happy. Support small business and give them a try. Only been open a month at time of post. read more

Fish n chips and lobster bisque was awesome. The fish was fresh and flaky, fried light. This is not the beer battered type of fried fish, it's on the lighter side. Lobster bisque was very very good. Customer service was on point. The owner was nice and attentive. We will come back for sure. read more

Another great place to share with everyone thanks to Facebook recommendations...I've been dying for some clams and there are such few places around that do real strips...WELL let me tell you if you haven't been to Mom's Nothing Fancy Seafood place YOU ARE MISSING OUT!!! First I will say the nothing fancy in the title is just that so if your looking for a 5 stars Michelin Atmosphere this isn't your place, BUT if your looking for a great mom & pop where everyone knows your name this is the place. I got the clam strips my husband the scallops, both portions were perfect. Everything was cooked very well. The tater sauce was spot on I'm a stickler for good tater sauce, the coleslaw is also very good. The owner Mike came out talked with people, checked in with people coming in to explain how things worked, while eating if everything was ok or did you need anything & very appreciative when leaving. I hope they are around for a long time to come because this area is in need of a good mom & pop seafood place. read more

I'm not a fried food person so this is why I ordered broiled scallops and broiled cod for my husband. The first thing to happen was the person who packed my order did a poor job. When I went to lift it out of the car, the bag broke at the bottom and now my car smells left like fish. Food quality, poor. My scallops were rubbery and over cooked. Were they even fresh? My husband's cod bland and tasteless. I'm gonna take a guess and say their specialty is fried fish. Not my cup of tea but to me each his own. Needless to say, I will not be returning anytime soon. read more

Decided to try the new spot as I had heard it was worth the time. Also heard the clam chowder was delicious. Hmmm. Not so true. It would be best called potato chowder with a few clams. Moms nothing fancy is also nothing special...so far anyway. I will try a platter at some point just to give the benefit of the doubt this was an isolated incident. And of course if it seems a worthy dish...we'll see. read more

I went there today for the first time with 2 of my other friends to try it out. We had the worst meals, I had the whole belly clams which was there were only 9 small clam and one large clam. Cost 27.99 and came with french fries which were very cold, VERY DISAPOINTED with the whole meal and was a waste of money. My friends had the fried scallops which contained 6 very small scallops and cold fries. I would not recommend that place at all. Very disapointed read more

With so many other choices for local restaurants, I can see why a lot of these franchises are closing. This place is also on the pricy side.

I thought the pricing was very reasonable. We just split that big slice of pizza for dinner and enjoyed it -thin crust, plenty of cheese, plenty of sauce and overall excellence across the board. No doubt we'll sample one of their grinders next time, and you can rest assure there will be a next time. Last night was our third time dining with Nataz and first time in the new location. They did a…read morenice job with the new space. It is way more spacious than their previous location and nicely decorated. We sat in a nice Modular Half Moon Restaurant Sofa in the back. Felt like I was looking down upon the rest of the guests having dinner. Nice table just felt a bit like we were on display however I still enjoyed as I love the style of these tables. Our waiter I think was new and definitely did not know wine. We asked for a bottle of the Merlot, which he pronounced back to us "Mer-LOT." I couldn't help but chuckle a bit when he left the table. Someone else came and opened the wine for us and when our main server came to check on us, he grazed the side of my glass and freaked, telling us the glasses are $500 each and if he breaks one, it comes out of his paycheck. Ummm what? This stuff we probably should not know! Again, I think he was new, probably not having much experience as a waiter. He definitely needs training on how to pronounce wine! Moving on to the cheese, they used to give you a cheese board with a few different cheeses. It's a bit different now. They give you whipped butter, a few pieces of cheese (last night was Cheddar), roasted red peppers, and whipped goat cheese with a touch of honey on top and some bread. Not sure if this changes/rotates at their new location. We chose not to do the raw bar or appetizer courses (fyi those are extra). For my salad, I chose the Signature Salad (forgot to take a picture of this course). This is where things went downhill for me. I asked for no apples. He said no problem. He did not tell us they ran out of the dried cranberries and caramelized nuts which to me make the whole salad. I used to love this salad at the old location. So, when telling us the specials he did say he "thinks" they had one salmon entree left, but had to check. Restaurants run out of things, and I get it, but take that salad off the menu if you're out of 2 ingredients and the customer asks for no apples. All that we got on our salads was lettuce, gorgonzola and fried potato skins. I feel like I had French fries on top of lettuce. It was awful. Also, I'm the only one that asked for no apples and my boyfriend got the same salad I got with only potato skins and lettuce and gorgonzola so clearly they were running out of things. We then saw other customers getting the same salad lacking main ingredients. For my entree, I got the Heavenly, which was supposed to have a lobster sauce. I couldn't put my finger on what the flavor of the sauce was. It was strange. It wasn't bad, it just didn't really go with the lobster. It had a brown tint to it. The manager came over after we ate and asked us how things were, and I told him about the salad and asked what the flavor in the sauce was. He told us a crab style sauce which made sense. Boyfriend had the filet. He said it wasn't Ruth's Chris good, but it was good. Mashed potatoes were very bland. Presentation was pretty bad. Dessert they get from a third party. I had the flourless chocolate cake which was the best part of the meal. Desserts are where they have improved with the new location. They used to give you petit fours style desserts, and now they give you full size desserts. It was delicious. I really want to like this place more because I like the concept of what they do. I guess on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays the chef creates whatever he'd like for guests for $25 a head. Mystery meals. The manager said that's where the name "Adventures in Eating" comes from. Again, we had come here previously, and I had a problem the last time with the Branzino where the waitress didn't tell me it came as the whole fish. Servers are friendly here, they just aren't top notch. Food is ok.

For dessert, we had the flourless chocolate cake, coconut custard bar, and tiramisu. Everything was delicious and we left very full!! Service was friendly and the prices were more than fair. We all agreed that we will be returning to Nataz soon.

I ordered the hotdog 10 inch, with mustard, onion, and sauce, in order of onion rings and a Pepsi. After a little bit of a wait because of the lunch rush, my order arrived, and I dug in! The hotdog so flavorful with a snap upon my first bite, and was brilliantly cooked on the flat top, stuffed inside a perfectly grilled New England style hotdog roll. The char on the outside of the roll was a masterpiece. The meat sauce was perfect, with a kind of gravy texture, just the right amount of flavor, one of the best hotdog sauces in my opinion for Connecticut. The white onions accompanied this masterpiece placed upon the hotdog and the yellow mustard. This has to be one of the most perfect hotdogs with toppings in Connecticut. I love coming here for their hotdog. This 10 inch was priced at I think $4.59 with the mustard onion and sauce. I think that's a pretty good deal. The onion rings were restaurant supply chain delivered type I think. They didn't look like they were homemade. They were crispy, but not seasoned. After a little bit of salt, I still didn't like the flavor that much so I added ketchup, which I never do. And the flavor came through. All washed down with a perfect Pepsi, I really enjoyed my lunch. Three different waitresses took care of me, which I didn't mind. They were all polite and attentive.
