Musubi, teriyaki beef, rice, teriyaki chicken
    Janelle C.

Fresh made to order musubi and Hawaiian bbq dish plates. I ordered a teriyaki beef, rice and Mac salad plate and was given so much beef it had to be in its own container! Also, a teriyaki chicken plate and it was delicious. I took some leftovers to work the next day and everyone commented how good my food smells when I went to reheat it so I had to brag where I got it. It made me realize that I want to re order again for tomorrow as well. Great environment for a quick eat in folsom with friendly staff. I'll be back soon!

    Make It Mini

I was craving Hawaiian BBQ and decided to grab takeout from here. I like that they offer a "mini meal" option, but I was a little disappointed with the portions. I ordered the Pick 2 plate for my husband expecting it to be packed (like Ono Hawaiian BBQ usually does), but it wasn't nearly as full. The "make it mini" was $11.99, and they charge an extra $2 just to have all mac salad, which felt a bit pricey. The BBQ chicken itself was pretty plain and dry, I ended up having to drench it in the teriyaki sauce on the side for flavor. The mac salad was solid, and the cabbage was a nice palate cleanser, but overall the meal fell flat. I wish the chicken had more flavor and was juicier because that's what really makes Hawaiian BBQ hit. Unfortunately, it just wasn't there for me, so I wouldn't come back.

My honey had a client in El Dorado Hills and picked up some food on the way back. I wanted baby backs but she found this place. We go to Hawaii frequently and have eaten at various luaus and local restaurants so I believe I have a good palate for this cuisine. Hawaiian BBQ Chicken BBQ Beef Kalbi Short Ribs Meat tender and full of flavor the short ribs are amazing. Mac Salad In general this dish is normally a mayo bomb anywhere in Hawaii. Here it is perfect. Rice Good. Kalua Pork It is ok. If ever in the area would like to try Loco Moco and Katsu Moco. For anyone reading this review the short ribs are a must!!!

Fresh, tasty and quick! The Mini plate is the perfect amount for lunch. I ordered it with BBQ chicken. The chicken was tender and had great flavor. I put some hot sauce and teriyaki on my rice which kicked it up. Great bargain for the price! I'll be back

The kalbi ribs here are so yummy and their mac salad is incredibly delicious! I always judge Hawaiian BBQ by the macaroni salad and Big Island delivered. We also ordered a mixed plate with chicken katsu, BBQ chicken, and BBQ beef. I'd say my favorites out of the four meats are kalbi and chicken katsu. They upcharge on plates if you order the kalbi ribs, but they are worth it! The meat is seasoned very well and it was so tender. We immediately dug in. Service is prompt and friendly. Our plates took a little longer to come out which tells me the meats are cooked to order, so I do not mind the extra wait! Definitely a great spot. I will be returning soon. Perhaps for a Musubi Monday, when they offer 50% off on musubi!

Since our first visit, we've been coming back for more. The portion has improved greatly, esp. the meat portion was bigger. Our favorite is the chicken katsu & kalua pork. The chicken katsu was perfectly cooked: crispy coating with tender meat. The kalua pork was tender and tasted delicious. The chicken teriyaki has sweet flavor and tender meat. The fried fish had crispy coating and well seasoned.

I had this combo plate with Kalua roast pork and BBQ chicken. Great portions and tastes reminds me if back home on Oahu.

Food was great & service was spot on. Menu had a great selection of good food found locally from my home state if Hawaii

So so good. I mean soooo good! My son is obsessed with the Spam Musubi. Every thing I have had is tasty and delicious. We even used this restaurant to cater a team party and all the parents and kids were happy! Definitely get the dole whip. Chicken Katsu is crunchy and delicious. On our last visit, they had a sign saying they were adding burgers. I'm sure they will be delicious too. Customer service 10/10

The owner is an incredibly kind, genuine man from Atlanta who brought authentic Southern barbecue to Folsom, and it shows in every bite. This isn't just another barbecue restaurant; it's the real deal. The beef ribs are my absolute favorite. They're perfectly smoked, incredibly tender, and packed with flavor. Honestly, I've tried just about everything on the menu, and I have yet to find anything that wasn't amazing. Belly Barbecue is in a league of its own, and there's simply nothing else like it anywhere around here. The only downside to Belly Barbecue being so amazing, they run out of food! But that's what happens when you make barbecue this good; people line up for it. My advice: get there early, because once they sell out, they're done for the day. If you appreciate authentic Southern barbecue made with pride and passion, Belly Barbecue is an absolute must-try. I can't recommend it highly enough!

A buddy and I split a tray with brisket, turkey, and pork ribs, plus grits, mac and cheese, and banana pudding. The turkey was good. It may not be anyone's first choice at a barbecue joint, but if a place knows what it's doing, the turkey should still be solid, and it was. The pork ribs had great flavor with perfect tenderness and just the right amount of bite. The brisket was the star of the meal. It had an excellent bark and reminded me of some of the best brisket I've had in Texas: simple salt and pepper seasoning done right. I also got my wife a beef rib and a side of collard greens to go. The customer service was outstanding. Everyone was friendly, accommodating, and made the experience even better. I'll definitely be back. I also liked how the owner stayed in the front and engaged with every customer. Definitely a family feel coming here.

We saw the smoker in the front of the building. I do luv me some good ole BBQ. So off we went. We ordered a double down plate $26: two 7oz protein choices with cole slaw on brioche and an 8 oz side choice. Brisket and pulled pork were our protein choices with and potato salad. We bought another side, macaroni salad. We requested that the pulled pork be placed on the side and additional sauce. I dislike being that customer with persnickety preferences. But we were, and they didn't blink an eye. Super accommodating. The pulled pork had a deep smoky flavor. Tender shredded pieces. Mmm. The sauce was served on the side. That too was delicious. Hubs had the brisket and wolfed that down before I could swipe a piece. Darn. The potato salad was tasty. Slightly tangy, which I really liked. The place is family owned and operated. It's a sports bar and family friendly bbq joint. Giving off family friendly vibes. But hey, a bar and family friendly? Yes. They both co-exist harmoniously. Talking about sports. The TVs of course are tuned onto sports. All of the screens are strategically placed throughout. They even have framed signed football jerseys from USC Trojans, Denver Broncos, and 49ers to name a few. Pretty neat.

There's plenty of parking spots as it's in the same plaza as Raleys. It's a smaller shop that poses as a restaurant on one side and a small market filled with Filipino snacks on the other. There's not much for ambience, but it's clean and cozy. The owner served me, and she was super warm and friendly and very welcoming. I had questions about the food and their menu and she was very patient going through all of them. She introduced me to pitchi pitchi which is a sweet and salty cassava dessert that reminds me of mochi. The cheese threw me off a little, but I read that sometimes it's served with coconut flakes. I ordered two halo halo desserts, two combos, the cassava dessert, upgraded the rice to garlic rice, two orders of lumpia, and picked up a couple of calamansi drinks and garlic peanuts as a snick snack. Total bill plus tip was over $100. The menu changes every day, which I think is interesting. And every Sunday they serve lechon for $18 a pound. Check out their Facebook page for updates in case I got this information wrong. For the food, I had half pancit and half rice. I had adobo chicken, butter chicken, and two pork dishes that I don't remember the name. I like that the pork had a good combo of fat and lean meats. I wish I could've eaten it there but we had lunch and then decided to stop here. I felt like the food being warmed up after sitting in the fridge for a bit, It kind of made all of the entrées taste similar to each other. Next time I will vary my order, like I'll get a saucey dish, a sour soup, and a bbq skewer. All in all the food tasted very homey and delicious. It's heavily seasoned. I can see myself ordering lumpia and pancit to a party. Can't wait to go back and try their lechon and pork belly.

We were seated for dinner pretty quickly. The only problem I had was deciding what to order. The luau shrimp salad? Meatball sub? I finally decided on the lobster mac and cheese. I hope management addresses these concerns, as the kitchen is clearly doing a great job.
