    Scallop special
    Taylor W.

My husband and I stopped by Tangs Sushi a few nights ago for dinner. We ordered the edamame, a scallop special, and a few rolls. The edamame and scallops were both full of flavor and definitely stood out. The rolls were good, but for us they felt like they were missing a little punch compared to some of the other items. We do love this spot and have had great experiences here before, so it may have just been the rolls we chose this time. We will definitely be back to try more!

Crazy how 7/2/26 was my first time ever at Tang's Sushi!!! I only know it will definitely not be my last! Service was top notch and omg the yummy food was really the best!

I love this place!! I forgot how much o love this place since it's kind of tucked away and out of the way from my house but OMG. Love is in the air. The sushi is so fresh and the sushi chefs get creative. I always sit at the bar and just tell the chef an idea of what I'm wanting to eat, and he says "I'll make you something", and it's always delico

Tang's is a sushi restaurant that I visited numerous times for many years. However it had been a few years since my last visit and hubby had never dined here. My last review was 3 stars and this review is 3 stars again. Hubby ordered the bento box for a whopping $27! Crazy high price for a normal, nothing special bento box. I had a bite of his salmon teriyaki, and it was tasty, but didn't warrant this high price! I ordered the 3 piece BBQ white tuna. Nowhere on the menu does it say the BBQ sauce is a spicy chili sauce. I wasn't expecting that and could not eat much of it due to the sauce. Service is good, and the passing by sushi rolls to other tables looked good. But this restaurant prices are just way too high to warrant a return for me.

We were eagerly greeted and showed to our table. The waiter gave us a run down of the menu and with no pressure to hurry up and order. The restaurant had great uplifting fun music playing that made the experience so much better. We ordered and she asked for a special roll that they don't have on the menu and gave the chef full go at making it. He knocked it out the park, after we stayed and talked to him and listened to what became his inspiration to make it. He later told us they might put it on the menu. Not going anywhere else while in town before going back to Texas.

I remember seeing Tang's always popping up on my Yelp with great reviews and delicious looking photos, but when I came in to dine with a group, I was sorely disappointed. The sushi rice had such a gummy texture that it felt similar to the Snowfox pre-packaged sushi sold in grocery stores. We also ordered a sashimi plate to share and the maguro felt highly questionable. The texture felt too soft and gummy, it lacked the bite and body of a normal maguro. The taste of it was also very fishy as well. Based off photos and other reviews on their omakase platter, I'm going to believe that Tang's does their experimental/seared/saucey/Americanized items quite well. But I wouldn't recommend Tang's to someone looking for sushi with delicate flavors and authentic techniques that enhance the natural flavor of the fish.

    Tuna

Good enough, not great food. First visit. Friendly greeting. Immediate seating. Water brought promptly. Young staff eager to serve quickly. After the wine & beer are graciously placed before us, we order food. Tuna for Bambie. Bento box for me with 2 upgrades which bumps the price up $4. So the meal was $27 which is highest price for a Bento box dinner in any Roseville Japanese restaurant I've eaten in so far. I've eaten at ten others around town. Flavors, textures, plate appearance is all acceptable. Pretty much average for any Japanese American restaurant in this price category. I ate all the food placed before me. It was generous potions to satisfy my normal ravenous appetite. Is this my favorite Japanese restaurant in Roseville? No. I like the food, table service and dining rooms at Azayaka (over by Costco on Galleria) and ITS Sushi on Junction Blvd a WHOLE lot more. Though Tang's is very close to my home I'll drive the extra 10 minutes to the other preferred places in the future.

Sj all day roll, Fendi, and lobster chips

We will be back very soon! Our server, Gary was fantastic, not only did he give us special sauces, but recommended a roll off the menu that was superb. The "Fendi" which had fried shrimp, spicy crab, albacore tuna, crunchy garlic, miso glaze and a hint of BBQ sauce. The lobster chips are also a secret menu item that are a must try. Be prepared for a wait that is well worth it!

I'd say Tang's is the best sushi in Roseville but truth is it's the best sushi ANYWHERE! Sushi is my favorite food and I travel a lot so I'm always trying different places all over the word and I have yet to find anywhere that compares to Tang's! The quality, the atmosphere, the service, and the employees it's all just incredible and on point! PS: highly recommend trying the secret menu items (Swag roll & Mc'lovin roll)

    Sake flight
    Gretchen T.

Came here a few minutes after they opened for dinner hours and was seated right away at the sushi bar. There were a few tables seated already. I got a sake flight and the omakase. The sake flight was a nice mix of dry and sweet sake. The omakase was amazing! The sauces, the textures, the freshness. So good. It was the perfect amount for one person. The little Pringles appetizer, the ceviche tostada, and the baby scallop on cucumber were my favorites. The sashimi was so fresh and perfectly lightly seasoned. The total was around $80 before tip. Would come back to try everything again.

    Pepperfin & chirashi
    Alesia i.

Wanted to try something new. Prices seemed reasonable. Sushi was great. Had the pepperfin app & chirashi. The only complaint was there wasn't enough "sides" on the chirashi. (Ex fish eggs, tamago unagi) like other sushi spots. Customer service was great. Definitely would come back!

Lobster roll and sweet corn. Delish!

Ask the Community - Tang's Sushi

For the sushi rolls I am wondering if the crab salad is gluten free, or what the up charge is to make it with real crab instead of imitation? Is the spicy tuna inside a roll gluten free? And Are any of your sauces gluten free?

Do they have fresh raw oysters?

    Do you have reservation service?

There are not reservations, just first come first serve.

Do you have gluten free options?

I can't speak to whether or not the soy sauce is 100% gluten-free, but for those who are avoiding wheat flour, wheat gluten etc, most of the dishes offered are made with rice. The ceviche is served on a fried wonton wrapper which is also made from…

Our server greeted us right away and was very sweet and attentive. You could tell she was still in training, but everything went smoothly. The only small thing I would suggest is having more napkins at the table, since we were only given one per plate and ended up needing a few more during the meal. We had originally reserved a tatami table, but quickly realized it wasn't the best fit for our group since we had some older people with knee pain. Just a heads up, the tatami seating does not have recessed flooring. Luckily, we were able to adjust to a regular table. Once we were settled, we looked through the menu and ordered a double toro roll, a wagyu roll, and a dinner bento with unagi-don. Happy to report everything we ordered was delicious! The double toro was very fresh and refreshing, and the wagyu roll had a rich, savory flavor that reminded us of a yummy steak. We enjoyed every bite. I was especially impressed with my bento box. The presentation was beautiful and the portions were very generous. The bento came with steamed egg, a fresh garden salad, assorted tempura, and unagi-don. Everything in the box tasted great. The tempura was light and crispy, and the unagi was savory and satisfying with egg ribbons in the rice. I think it might be one of the best bento boxes I've had in a long time. Overall, we had a great experience at Azayaka Japanese Fusion. The food was delicious, the service was warm, and we would definitely come back to try more dishes.

First, I want to say the chef was younger, but he put alot of care and effort into each dish, so he should definitely be acknowledged. However, as soon as we walked in, there was no greeting from both of the female servers, only cold stares. Many servers do not give great service to younger tables and assume they won't tip. This occurred throughout our dining experience and we didn't feel welcomed at all. Our table also wasn't the biggest and there was no pre-bussing done to clear our dining space. Also, as a recent graduate, I brought my cap to receive a $15 gift card for their promotion. Instead, she gave a "neighborhood" discount (10% off which made it $10 off). I didn't mention anything since I did not feel like coming back to this location. Then I looked at the receipt, wrote a 20% tip, but this was where I felt scammed. It's difficult to explain and I wish I took a picture, but please check your math on the suggested tip. Total with discount: $98 Previous Total: $108 Suggested Tip: 20% = $20 and Suggested Total: $128 I don't mind tipping $20, but the suggested total would include a $30 tip? I don't know if it's intentional and the server wanted to pocket the discount as her tip, but it did not feel fair. We had two younger kids with us and I didn't want them to notice, so we just left after paying. We been to the Sacramento location many times, but their Roseville location was disappointing. Horrible service.

We ordered an $8 oyster shooter, most come with either hot sake or cold sake, theirs was room temperature, a little roe, tiny oyster in a very tiny one shot glass. It took 30 minutes before it was served. We also ordered sea salt edamane, stuffed jalapeños, sunomono salad. The cucumber salad was very good, the edamane looked like they had been frozen then defrosted and served, and the stuffed jalapeños tasted off, we ate them, 4 total. My wife ordered a spider roll, it had a strong gamy taste like a lower grade fish that was used. My wife tried two pieces, swallowed the first and spit the second into her napkin, to her it was awful. I ordered the Shashimi Regular, that came with a small salad and miso soup, they were both good, I received the shashimi last, long after the spider roll; it was interesting, but the fish was more of a class C instead of a class A. Their prices were class A and the fish didn't meet that expectation. It was an $84.50 meal but didn't meet the expectations of a class A sushi meal. The waitress was very professional and asked us about the meal, we were honest and she took the spider roll off the bill. She offered an other roll but by then my wife was done. My wife declined the offer. The restaurant's ambiance was modern and very nice. I would not recommend eating here to my friends.

For a raw dish that requires no actual cooking, that kind of delay in such a small space is hard to justify. We also had the broiled oysters ($15) and oyster shooters ($5), which were solid.
