I always crave Chaodown Poki! I'm thinking I need to be here at least once a week! I was just in here the other day and thinking... I have been to other poki places and nothing compares to the freshness, the flavor... and THE PRICE! I am always satisfied with the flavor and I am so happy that after getting a large bowl (5 scoops of protein!) I have enough to make 2 meals out of it! I always go with their fresh salmon (there is tuna and scallops available as well), but let's start with the base... I have them put in some spring mix in the togo container and then cover that with some white rice. Brown rice is an option as well. Next, you pick your protein. In a separate bowl, they put your protein into it and you have your choice of success they can toss it in. I like a sweet and savory, with some spicy, so I go with sweet and spicy mayo, salty sesame shoyou, sometimes sweet unagi, and definitely add sesame and chili oil... what can I say, I am a saucy girl! Then they put that tossed fresh fish over the base. Then you pick your toppings. There is a soft boiled egg, cucumber, pineapple, crab mix, seaweed salad, kimchee, masago (they also have spicy), jalapenos, green onions, and so many more choices. To top it off, you can add the chili oil, soy sauce, furkake, and crispy wontons. For measly $22 and change your got an easy 2 meals. Please, don't forget to leave a tip! I like to sit inside and eat half here. They are always working hard with online orders and customers walking in. I like to use the chopsticks, but I also get a togo fork as well in case my daughter eats my other half (highly likely!) The biggest reason for this review is that this is the best price around. The best fresh flavor around! If you guys like poki bowls, I absolutely encourage you to come to Chaodown Poki and I promise you'll be a fan, too! Great spot when you're craving poke in the area! Parking is easy in the plaza, and service is quick and friendly. The store was empty when we arrived at 1 PM on a Saturday. The place had a casual and easygoing vibe to it. We ordered a large bowl to split, but honestly they loaded it up with rice and a bit less fish than expected, so it felt a little light on protein for the size. Still, the salmon and yellowtail were solid and flavorful, and I really liked that they have chili oil as a topping to add some heat. Overall, it's a good option to satisfy your poke craving. I found this spot on Yelp and the name made me laugh! We were in the area and hungry for lunch so we came in and so glad we did. Chaodown has lots of great protein selections. I got the regular bowl that has two scoops - and they were big scoops. I went with the Chaodown mix - which is marinated tuna and salmon, plus yellowtail. The yellowtail was low so she added fresh yellow tail to mine. I did half salad mix and half brown rice. Lots of great toppings and sauces too. I went with the spicy sweet mayo and the wasabi cream - Wasabi cream was really spicy - I sneezed after my first bite -but I thought it gave it a nice kick. My husband had the XL and it was enormous. Five scoops of protein! Personally regular was plenty for me. I thought all the fish looked really fresh and loved all the topping choices. Plus the bowls were really reasonably priced compared to others we've visited. They also have lots of drinks, mochis and other desserts. I treated myself to a fish ice cream with matcha - one of my favorite desserts. So good. It's a family owned place and has a great friendly vibe and plenty of seats for a quick lunch. We were in the area and were craving some poke! This place had great reviews so we decided to give them a try! Boy, we were so glad we did!! They had extremely fresh ingredients and huge portions!! Look at how packed my bowl was! I was so happy that they had a vegetarian bowl option with reasonable price since I have a hard time justifying having to pay regular prices for tofu and not seafood. My friend and I came here after a trip to the Galleria on a Saturday afternoon around 4 PM. We were craving poke and found this spot on Yelp. Since we weren't super hungry, we decided to share one poke bowl with two scoops of protein. It was around $15, and honestly, for what we got, it was so worth it. We asked for three scoops of salmon and basically all the available toppings. We ended up with a mountain of food--partly because we chose salad greens as our base, and they really don't skimp. I can't remember the exact sauce we chose, but it was a soy-yuzu mix, and it paired perfectly with everything. The staff member helping us was incredibly sweet. My friend doesn't like jalapeño or pineapple, but I do, so she put those in a separate bowl so we could split everything easily once we sat down. Which was a thoughtful touch. Everything tasted fresh--the toppings, the greens, and especially the fish. The interior also has plenty of seating, and it's a nice space to sit and enjoy your bowl, which we did. Upset. I went out in the pouring rain to pick up my order and I am again disappointed with the pre-order. I placed online through grubbhub and I'm missing items that I did request as topping in my bowl. As the screenshots show I requested an egg and crab salad and found neither in my order. I'm giving h them a 1 star because I hope they can somehow compensate. This is not the first time this has happened however it is the second consecutive time this has happened I love it here and I am really disappointed because I was really excited for lunch. I ordered a regular bowl (half white rice and half spring mix) with tuna and yellow tail as my proteins, three sauces, and too many toppings. No worse than some I've eaten on Kauai, where I vacation every year. Salad greens are crispy fresh. The spicy tuna mash tastes like the stuff I get in Hawaii. The shrimp tempura is some kinda batter that's shaped into a cylinder, breaded and fried. For the same price as a McDonalds combo burger meal you can eat something here that's much healthier, more tasty and will set in your stomach much more peacefully. Lo and behold, I came across Chaodown Poki, which came highly recommended, so I decided to try them out. For starters, the service was excellent. The young man making my bowl was very polite. I told him this was my first time coming here and he made helpful recommendations about the sauces, which I asked about, as I wanted to know which one of their sauces were comparable to the ones I get from my local poke place. The portions are generous and well worth the price! I ordered the x-large for $20.50, which comes with 5 scoops of protein. For my protein, I got tuna, salmon, scallops, yellowtail, and shrimp--all were unmarinated. I loaded the rest of my bowl up with mostly all the veggies and toppings, and I must say that I really liked their variety of toppings. I finished my bowl off with their sweet unagi and Chaodown sauces; they are sweet sauces, which I like. I also got avocado, which was an extra $2.25, but totally worth it because the portion of avocado they give you is huge. Some may see poke bowls as pricy but I see them as well worth the cost for fresh sushi grade meat! Also, the x-large bowl can easily feed two people, although my fatty self devoured it singlehandedly. The bowl easily weighed 2 lbs when the young man handed it to me. The portions are very generous, the ingredients fresh and healthy, the service comes with a friendly smile and conversation and the place is overall clean and presentable. Dirty countertops, on which some of the salad I was getting fell and the employee proceeded to pick them up and put them in my bowl. Umm, no thanks. She also was using gloves, in which I saw her pick up the iPad along with other couple of other things, to push down the food in my bowl ... honestly gross. I love the food but that's unsanitary and not safe. Also, after all that, I ended up getting my bowl and it was sticky , with sauce all over . I read all the great reviews on yelp and wanted to give this place a try. I'm pretty upset that it was so expensive and definitely not worth it. I got the regular bowl which is supposed to be $15.50 and I got an extra scoop of protein. I was informed is gonna be extra. I agreed and said okay but wasn't told how much it was going to be. When I got to the register, my total was $21 and some change. Absolutely outrageous to charge an additional five dollars for one measly scoop of protein.
