This is my first visit here flavor was good but as shown in the picture I posted the veggies inside the House Special Carlos burrito was more than I prefer. The sauce that was used over the burrito also wasn't anything special could use more kick, overall the burrito was okay expected more from the house special. I also ate the whole burrito in one seating which was more than likely due to the amount of veggies in the burrito didn't leave me full after I finished. I wouldn't go back for the burrito but would go back for tacos and chips. My husband and son got carne asada tacos which were good and would be what we would go back for. read more

Sammy's is easily my favorite SoCal Mexican restaurant. I had a beef, carnitas and chicken taco, with rice and beans. Everything I ate was fresh and perfect. The homemade salsa went great with the rice, too. I'll keep coming back as long as they're here. read more

Of course it will say that once the food is given there are no returns. Asked for a burrito with no onions and of course they would give me the wrong order and I can't do anything about it but to go back in line and buy ANOTHER burrito. This review is for the Sammy's on Sierra Highway. I've been here about 4 times in the past 2 months so needless to say I really enjoy their food. Here are my following reasons: PROS: *Very authentic and fresh Mexican food. *Most of the menu is fairly priced and inexpensive. *The employees are friendly if you have questions. *The location is small, but the food is prepared fairly fast. *You can call your order in whether or not it's for pick up or drive-thru. *They have a huge variety of food (Why do you think I've been there so many times?). CONS: *The area in which this restaurant is located is not the safest, but at the very least you can take it to go. *It's small and not a fancy place to impress anyone (But it's clean). I've tried the shrimp cocktail, menudo and burrito ranchero. The shrimp cocktail is delicious and one of the best ones I've tried in the Antelope Valley. The menudo and burritos are tasty as well. There is a second Sammy's location on Ave L. That location's interior is nicer as well as the area. Both share the same quality and taste of food. I've tried Mi Ranchito and Domingo's. Please check my review of Domingo's if you plan on visiting. I really enjoy Mi Ranchito, but after trying Sammy's (including their chips and salsa), I think Sammy's is my top choice (so far). read more

We recently stayed at the hotel next door to this restaurant, and found it had good reviews when we checked online. First I had to check on the gluten-free aspect, and was extremely pleasantly surprised to find out that the young woman - the daughter of the original owners -is gluten-free herself, so I had nothing to worry about as far as eating there. The frying oil had just been changed the day before, and all that had been fried in there so far was the chips, so for a change I was able to have them since they weren't cross-contaminated with gluten. The salsa I chose was SO tasty, even though it was a bit hot for me, I couldn't stop eating it. I had the taco salad without the taco, with some more of that salsa on it, and it was delicious. My husband is a bit of a food critic, very particular, and he said his meal was outstanding. We had a very nice chat with the daughter, who was also able to suggest some GF restaurants in other parts of the state we were visiting. This was extremely helpful for me, rather than having to worry about accidentally getting glutened at some random place. There were other customers in there at the same time who were locals, who said it's their favorite restaurant in the area and they eat there "all the time", as well as another traveler who comes through town regularly and always eats there when he does. read more

Tortilla chips are fresh and there are plenty of salsa's to choose from. Shrimp cocktail is outstanding!!
