I recently got a membership and I always look forward to my shopping experience. For a smaller family, this warehouse is adequate. They sell items at smaller quantities. For example, the shredded cheese comes in 2 smaller bags vs the competitor's giant size bags. They also carry a wider variety of items(candy, chips, snacks, clothing) that you can find at a regular retail grocery store. Interesting items I found: whole Mexican papayas, fresh coconut juice in the shell, freshly squeezed orange juice, meat pizza, delicious birthday cake with whipped icing, machine that gives out household samples to name a few. I purchased my membership when it was discounted so watch out for it. read more

It was my first time at Sam's Club (8/7/26) and I encountered two extremely rude employees. I had a curbside pick up order but went inside the store to pick up a few groceries in store. When I checked out, I asked my cashier if I could pick up my curbside order in the store instead. She was very friendly and super helpful! She flagged down another employee to double check that this was okay. The employee she flagged down was extremely rude to both the cashier and to me. The cashier even apologized on her behalf to me! I was able to pick up my curbside order thanks to my super nice cashier and the man that helped me was friendly too. When I exited the store with my orders I encountered the rudest employee! She informed me that "I didn't clear and she needed to see receipts." I told her I did have a curbside order in my cart maybe that is why I didn't clear and she told me in a very mean aggressive tone "that is not what I asked you! I need your receipt." She did not specify which receipt (the curbside or in store order) so I just handed her my in store order receipt. She started barking orders at me demanding to see all my groceries. I know this sounds dramatic but I literally felt like she was interrogating me acting like I stole from them. I told her it was my first time in store so I wasn't aware they needed to recheck my receipt like they do at Costco. She just scoffed and told me the groceries didn't clear from the "technology." Trying to make small talk I asked about the technology they use and she just said "I don't know it's AI." I have never encountered such a rude person at any restaurant or grocery store like that! I usually go to Costco and it is way busier than Sam's Club and the folks at the exit are usually really friendly and understanding. Because of those two employees alone, I don't want to renew my membership next year. I'm lucky I got it on a deal and it was only $15. read more

Right before our fishing trip, we decided that we wanted to pick up some freshly made food items that don't involve being heated up or cooked. As I had just remembered that I had a special introductory price to join Sam's Club membership, which only took me 10 minutes to do online. After that, the email proceeded tell us to go to the customer service to get our physical cards which we did the service was fast, pleasant and easy, considering the only had one associate working the area to remain calm, cool, and collective and polite. We proceeded to browse a location which we were pretty excited about as the membership will be more beneficial than a Costco membership, and there are some similarities on the setup of things that are offered within a Sam's Club location as well, but being that they're only two adults and a pet in our household. This seems the way to go. We saw everything from the furniture department meat department produce, Café, optical, and a spot to purchase automotive tires, wiper blades, etc. We also noticed that they have a corner location towards the front entrance/exit of their order online or through the app pick up location. Another great thing is that Sam's Club accepts all types of payment form. Their café seems to offer a small variety of food choices, but price wise it still enough to feed a family or a couple during their visit. Through the Sam's Club app we ordered two Sundays two beef hotdog and two drinks for a total of just under seven dollars in this location in establishment in the Folsom area is kept very clean and organized and you will always see associates staying busy while out on the floor. Yikes. Look at the best purchase by date for their prepackaged food. I didn't and noticed when I got home that the Svenhard pastries date was 3 months old. This was before I broke the plastic wrap. So I didn't get to look at the pastries up close. Either way, I'm not eating it and back I go to get a refund. The associate, at the return counter, was terrific. Easy enough to get a refund. But I go back shopping recently, and I find a pile of Svenhard pastries with even an older best purchase by date on the sales floor. Good grief! I reached for a pack of Archer Jeff jerky. Lesson learned, I looked at the date before putting it into my cart. Glad I did. The date was May 2025. Double good grief. It's December. 7 months past the date. (Sigh) read more

I know this might be a controversial opinion, but I prefer Sam's Club's pizza over Costco's pizza. Sam's Club's four meat pizza is delicious particularly for the price! It is very convenient that you can pay for Cafe items through the app in the parking lot and then go into the club to the Café counter to pick up your order. The last two times I have ordered, the wait time was pretty short for the pizzas to come out fresh from the oven. The brownie sundae was delicious and a great deal! I also use the curbside pick up option and sometimes there is a longer wait than expected, especially on weekends versus weekdays, but I still think that the convenience is worth it! read more

So I've always been a loyal Costco girly, but my mom's a big fan of Sam's Club, so I decided to give it another shot and see if maybe it could win me over. At first? I was almost sold. The selection wasn't bad, I actually found a few things I don't normally see at Costco, which had me thinking, "Okay, maybe I'll grab a membership and give this a real try." Then I got to the register... I had some heavy items in my cart, so I left them there with the barcodes facing up to make things easier for the cashier. (And honestly, to avoid making her lift them. She was this sweet older lady, and it just felt like the considerate thing to do.) She was doing her job, scanning what she could, and everything seemed fine, until a younger staff member, who was apparently management, walked over and scolded her right in front of me for not lifting the items out of the cart. Let me be very clear: the items may have looked small, but they were heavy, and there was absolutely no reason to put that kind of pressure on her, especially not in the middle of helping a customer. It felt disrespectful, unnecessary, and honestly... embarrassing for them. That moment changed the entire vibe. If this is how Sam's Club treats their employees, especially the ones going above and beyond to be kind and helpful, then I want no part of it! So if you're deciding between Costco or Sam's Club... take it from someone who just gave Sam's a chance: Costco all day. Sam's Club, do better. Your team deserves more respect than that. read more

Waited 18 minutes in the return merchandise line while a single employee dealt with the same couple checking online, phones, back online with NO RESOLUTION. There were 7 people in line and two of us left after the 18 minute wait during which the counter person did not even bother to look up or acknowledge we were even there. Place has a good selection of items, good prices, not very crowded and good return policy, but dont abuse it. They have a good selection of fresh bread, muffins, cookies and other pasties. Also they have a smaller selection of sushi rolls which are a good appetizer. Selection of tires is pretty good and better than average prices. They only carry one brand of car battery but their price is hard to beat. There is a lack of helpful employees but do your own research. read more

I purchased gift cards from Logan's Roadhouse thinking there are restaurants close by only to find out that the closest restaurant is in Chico which is 88 miles away. Why would they sell gift cards when there are no restaurants in the area and refuse to give me a refund? This is ridiculous. Sam's Club isn't horrible they do have good items and decent prices, and most of the time I don't mind shopping here. The cashier I had on my most recent visit was actually really kind and helpful. That said, I've been in four days in a row, and three of those days I used self checkout. For some reason, one specific product wouldn't scan no matter how many times I tried. I even tried to flag someone down for help, but no one ever came so I just put the item back and moved on. On the fourth day I decided to go through a regular checkout line instead. The cashier was great, but the same product still wouldn't scan. She tried multiple times and finally had to call a manager (I think she was an Indian lady). Unfortunately, the manager was very unpleasant and rude no greeting, no smile, didn't even acknowledge me when I said thank you several times. The whole interaction just ruined the experience. After waiting about 20 minutes the issue finally got fixed, and I was able to purchase the item but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Sam's Club can be a good store, but the customer service definitely needs improvement. Manager definitely needs some training. read more

I'm a Costco person at heart, but there are some items that Sam's Club has that Costco does not. Sam's Club is definitely not as crowded as Costco, so that helps with saving time. But then again, they don't have most of the items I usually get haha. If you don't have the Sam's Club App, I highly recommend you download it. Their "Scan & Go" is an awesome feature that I didn't know I needed. You don't have to stand in line for check out. You are your own cashier, so if you feel you were over charged by scanning an item more than once, you only have yourself to blame haha. The convenience factor of their "Scan & Go" feature is a huge plus over Costco. I mean, what's really the point of the Costco app aside from showing your digital membership card haha. read more

Attention Weights and Measures: I have a job for you. This has to be the most poorly signed store in Folsom, if not Sacramento county. On the bright side, even though the prices are only loosely correlated to the signage, most of the prices are still pretty fair. Also, all of the produce that I've purchased here so far has been great. If my rating were for quality alone, it would be five stars. If my rating were for service alone, it would be four stars. The cashier didn't make any effort to investigate or fix the incorrect signage, but she did knock a couple of bucks off of the main item in dispute. It was still a dollar more than the sign said, but, what can I say, I wasn't in the mood to argue, and it was still a really good deal. I've only been in three times so far, as I just recently received my membership card last month. When I texted my mom about the pricing issues, she seemed to be very well aware. "I always just take pictures of the signs while I'm shopping and then show them to the cashier when I'm checking out." Okay, I'm pretty sure it's not normal to have to take a picture of every single price tag as you shop. As to the picture of raspberries I posted, the signage is actually correct, but it's still really confusing, in my opinion. It took me longer than I'd care to admit to figure out that the more expensive raspberries on the left were organic, while the cheaper ones on the right, which look nearly identical, were not. Also, organic and non-organic produce are not supposed to be stacked on the same pallet, touching, due to the risk of cross-contamination. This is why most stores keep all of their organic produce in its own section. Maybe I'm a bit biased, cause I used to work at Costco, and we all know that Sam's Club is the knock-off version of Costco, but I feel like this store could (and should) do WAY better on their merchandising and signage. read more

Can't beat the prices for gas, I've never bought clothes here but I'm always looking. Even though I don't have a large family to purchase for I love purchasing in bulk to cut down on returning to the store. So most often I go here for my Dairy fruits and vegetables. And definitely my paper products, I like the fact that they offer Sam's bucks. I would love to see a Rewards program based on gas, especially since a lot of families have multiple cars. I've not had any issues and there's always a discount through Groupon for membership. So make sure you check out Groupon before paying the full price. However the staff was not very knowledgeable in basic information. We asked a few staff in their return policy because we bought something we were debating & have never returned anything before. I first came to Sam's this past October and was pleasantly surprised by their selection of items and how different they were from Costco's, whom I also have a membership with. I wasn't expecting to be wowed by anything but I was, and ended up signing up for a membership and their credit card right then and there. They have a lot of different items than Costco and at really affordable prices. For instance, they have a large selection of cakes and cupcakes, along with different party platters, at really affordable prices. If you have kids and they want to take goodies for their class, for instance, I highly recommend Sam's. I saw a box of 30 cupcakes there for $15, which is super cheap! We usually go to Raley's for classroom cupcakes but they are more expensive and come in a quantity of 12 per box, so we have to get at least 3 boxes to accommodate the entire class. We came back to Sam's this past weekend to shop for appetizers our son's birthday party. We went to Costco first to see if we saw anything we liked but they didn't have the variety that Sam's did. We bought ceviche, shrimp cocktail, sushi platters, a veggie tray, a fruit and cheese platter, pinwheels, pasta salad, and a huge cookie variety platter (84 cookies total!) from Sam's. All these items were a hit and 95% of the appetizers were devoured by our guests with very few leftovers. While we love Costco and go there at least a few times a week (we call Costco our second home), we absolutely love the variety and lower prices that Sam's offers. The only thing keeping us from going back to Sam's more often is that it's about 20 minutes away from us vs. the 5-minute drive we have to Costco. Even if you have a Costco membership and love Costco as much as we do, you can greatly benefit from a Sam's membership. read more

Store was clean and well kempt. I appreciate having a brick and mortar such as Sam's Club in the community. We all need to support one another to thrive. What I don't like seeing is fruit vendors roaming your parking lot with hand trucks loaded with cases of fruit trying to sell their stuff. They need to go open a stand and participate the American way. Sam's employees are in the parking lot returning carts. Michael & Hailey in the tire dept. were absolutely amazing! We had a flat tire the day after Christmas and were headed on a road trip. We needed quick service at around 5pm and that's exactly what we got! Pulled up and no one was in line so we were helped right away. Went here for a couple odds and ends with my grandfather in law. We went to the food court to get lunch and it was disgusting. I have been a certified food manager for the state of California for a little over four years, this food court needs to be shutdown. The woman at the front counter was beyond rude and unfriendly, she wasn't even trying to help people because she was too busy being on her phone. I paid for the food with cash and she took the cash while wearing gloves and then proceeded to not change her gloves and touch MY FOOD. Fastest i have ever filed health inspector complaint. If thats what I'm seeing at the front counter for health and safety practices i don't want to see how they prep our food. read more

We stopped by while running errands and were able to get in and out pretty quickly and easily. This location has plenty of parking and a gas station, when we visited on a Saturday evening, neither were crowded. We may have been lucky, but we were certainly happy about it. We stopped here for chicken wings for an upcoming party and typically we find some good ones at Sam's at a decent price. On this trip we had no such luck, even after asking one of the meat department staff if they had some in the back. No problem, we grabbed a few odds and ends and hit the check-out. I like that they have self check-out, it makes it easy to get in and out and when I've visited Sam's recently there haven't been long lines. They have a cart ready for you to transfer all your stuff into as you scan it, so it's even easier. On our trip we had two transactions and they were able to merge the receipts with their scanner to check our purchases on the way out. Pretty cool. read more

First, I love Sam's Club. But, today, near the entrance was (I am assuming) a "Black Friday" deal. I picked up off a table a set of Beats headphones. I put them in my cart and began to I start my actual shopping when I was stopped and I was told that I have to put them back until I am ready to check out. My advice, then don't put them at the entrance on a table for customers to grab. Put them near the registers close to when we are leaving. The conversation..."Sir you have to leave them here until you are ready to check out". "Okay, then I am am not interested in playing your game". Sam's club is starting to really get on my nerves. I was in a rush and only needed to grab 2 items so I used Scan and Go. I thought, this should be quick because I only have two items....flowers and a container of kiwi. As I approach the exit, I am dreading having to deal with a known "scanner/checker" who is infamous for re-scanning almost everything. It must be her life mission to find an item that may have not been scanned and catch you! You'd think, two items...easy peasy. Nope! After scanning my bar code that shows I only have two items, she still insists on scanning both items. Then she says, "what about your berries?" And I'm like, "what berries"? I only have two items....here's "1" and here's "2", both of which you just scanned. Then she rudely says "yes I know, I know how to count". Really? Then why are you wasting my time and questioning me about berries that I don't have. Exasperated, I walk out and again, she arrogantly says "whatever"! WTF! Why are your employees so rude and unprofessional? I shop at Sam's for my business almost daily. Please ask your staff not to treat us like criminals and question every single purchase, especially when you only have 2 small items purchased! read more

NEVER ORDER ANY FURNITURE TO BE DELIVERED TO YOUR HOME!!!!!! This is for an online order. We ordered online a dining set and chairs. We only received 1 of the 2 boxes. The delivery guy said that he would return with the second box. He didn't return. Now he isn't returning our phone calls. According to Sam's Club documentation, THE DELIVERY GUY LIED and reported to Sam's Club that the delivery is complete and that we received both boxes. Now we have a table and NO CHAIRS. If Sam's Club continues to employ this delivery company, then you're probably not going to get your packages. Store is clean and organized. However, I went to get a couple cartons of eggnog and paid through the Scan&Go feature in the app. I had my exit pass ready and as soon as I get close to the exit, I notice there's a lady who was let through with the same amount of (2) items as me. Didn't even check her exit pass, just said, "you're good to go, have a great day." Before I even get all the way to the lady doing the exit checks/receipt scans, I see her expression and tone immediately change. I greeted her as I am a friendly person, but she wanted nothing to do with me. This is my first time in the Folsom Sam's club and I was dressed fairly formally and appropriately for weather conditions. I'm a 19 year old male and live on my own, so I'm guessing this is a case of age discrimination which happens to me quite frequently but this experience was different because she wanted nothing to do with me and made sure she scanned the items THREE TIMES. I can't stand people like this and they definitely should not be working customer service. Lastly, there was a guy before checking out that was fairly rude about me asking where an item was. I was surprised how much I enjoy having a Sam's Club membership. They have different items than Costco so I've benefited from having both memberships. They also have the same departments as Costco like the cafe, bakery, pharmacy, optical, and tire shop. A big plus is that they don't have the same long lines. They have a pretty good return policy as well. I've never had to wait in a very long line for returns. The tire shop is good and I was able to get replacement tires under warranty. They only charge a $20 labor fee per tire. But the staff there is pretty slow to help customers. They also left a the lug wrench on when they were driving the car out. Fortunately nothing was damaged. They open at 8:00am for plus customers which is nice because it's an hour earlier than Costco. The biggest "pro" they have over Costco is the "Scan and Go" feature on the Sam's club app. You can scan and checkout your own items and never have to wait in a cashier line. read more

Sam's Club is not as popular as Costco all over the Sacramento area. They have closed a few stores in Sacramento in the last few years when Costco opened more stores and take over some of their locations. This Sam's Club in Folsom is one of the better Sam's Club with better management and inventory. But the cashier is still very slow unless you are using the self-checkout or pay by the Sam's Club App. I think the App payment available for the members is the only advantage of Costco. This location is clean and their customer service is a little more friendly. The gas station is much less crowded than the other Sam's Club location in the area or the Costco nearby. read more

I ordered my tires here as unfortunately, the tires at Costco did not last me long 38K and they did have the same tires for a set of 4 for $1000.00 with $150 discount. I also had a Sam's Club membership and decided to check their place out and they had $80 off Goodyear tires. I ordered the tires online and they arrived 3 days before. So just make sure you check the order status online as there was no email for updates. So here is the only downside, if you call to make an appointment, 90% of the time they will not pick up as they have no one dedicated to pick up the phones. They only have 2 people working on the shop. If you have to call dial this number with instructions (916) 817-8965 Press 2 and then 3 for tires I finally got an appointment setup and went to Sam's Club and one of the mechanics, Mitchell, helped me out and said how would you like to save an additional $40 dollars and then get a $10 dollar gift card and I was like sure. Then, just all you have to do is sign up for a plus member ship for $30 dollars. So doing the math, I save money doing this. They installed my tires within 45 minutes, but they gave me the bad news that one of the rims was bent and said I would need it to be fixed in order for the other tire to be installed, but recommended me a place to get it done. Mitchell explained the warranty to me and was very helpful. They put on the spare tire and I was on my way. I did not realize that my rim was going to be repaired so fast so I tried to make an appointment and no one picked up. So I decided to do a walk in and luckily they were not busy. They took in my car did the rebalance, put on the tire and after 30 minutes I was on my way. Overall, the service was much better than expected and actually I hate to say this, I prefer going to Sam's Club tire center over Costco. read more
