Walked right in to a small quaint spot in Warwick, RI. No gimmick, bs or anything extra, just a nice local feel from a family owned shop since the 60s, with some delicious dogs! The service from the family was excellent, and the fresh and delish weiner + fries matched. I've been on a hotdog kick lately, and this did the job! Check it out!

This place is ALL original. Some of the best wieners around, and old school lunch counter atmosphere to match. I prefer less onions, but either way their meat sauce is amazing and the buns are always perfectly soft and delicious. Don't forget the classic coffee milk. We come every summer when visiting family in RI!

After eating ourselves full around Warwick, my friend insisted we eat a wiener all the way from here. It's a very simple place. Maybe four tables? The wieners come with mustard, onions and meat sauce. This is a no nonsense place. Get your Werner's, eat them, and get the heck out! The coffee milk was very good. It's a great place for a quick bite.

While I can't attest to the wieners, as I don't eat meat, this place was a winner! My friends did enjoy the famous wieners but the friendly staff and other patrons set it apart. We stopped in after seeing this place in a local paper and were not disappointed. Everyone welcomed us and gave other local recommendations. The fries, grilled cheese and fried pickles that I did have were great as well! Would definitely recommend. It's definitely a no frills kinda place but that just added to the charm.

Good local place for wieners. The cheese curds were perfect and fries were crispy. Friendly service. I like that there's still bar stools and not just tables.

We got the weiner combo and 2 weiners "all the way". Service was fast and friendly. Loved the staff and expediency. The restaurant has a few tables and counter seating. Relatively quiet, and would definitely eat in if we had the time.

Great local establishment in West Warwick, Rhode Island. I had a craving for hot weiners and ended up with more. This place is a hidden gem with a friendly welcoming staff. The customers are great too as they praise the place that has been around since 1968. So, besides hot weiners,, I purchased clam strips and rice pudding (home made by the owner's mom. The food is made to order and always fresh. I highly recommend that you stop by and give Sam's NY System a try. Very nice portions that will put a smile on your face once you have a taste...

She showed me to my table, brought a carafe of water, and welcomed me in. I was quickly welcomed by Sergio, my server, who shared the special and the soup of the day. Once I ordered my soda I took in the ambiance of the bar, new lights, and the rest of the restaurant. It's not a large building but they make every inch count. Now, the reason you're reading this review- THE FOOD. I ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich with a Caesar Salad. The chicken (photo below) was perfectly cooked, topped with hot honey, slaw, pickles, and ranch then placed on a soft brioche bun. The meal was reasonably priced as well at $33 which included tip. I will absolutely be back to the Shanty next time I'm in town.

Our waitress was very nice and patient with us while we took awhile to order. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and my friend got the ceasar wrap. The fries were great, sandwiches were also really good! Would like to come back and get one of their main dishes as they all sounded pretty good. We got the bread pudding for dessert (sorry forgot the photo) but that was really good!! Would get again.

In my opinion, no trip to Oakland Beach is complete without stopping at Iggy's Doughboys & Chowder…read moreHouse. It's become a tradition for us. We usually have dinner next door at the restaurant, and before heading home we walk over to Iggy's to grab a box of fresh doughboys to take with us. Somehow there's always room for doughboys. One of the things I appreciate most is the consistency. It doesn't seem to matter how busy they are, the doughboys are almost always fresh out of the fryer. They're light, golden brown, and cooked just right. I've never had one that was burnt, greasy, or raw in the middle. They strike a nice balance between having a crisp exterior and a soft, fluffy center, and they're generously dusted with enough sugar to satisfy a sweet tooth without making a complete mess. The menu has plenty of classic Rhode Island favorites if you're looking for chowder, clam cakes, or other seafood, but for us it's always about the doughboys. They've become part of the ritual whenever we're at Oakland Beach, and it's one tradition we don't plan on changing anytime soon. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because this place is incredibly popular, especially during the warmer months. Depending on when you go, you may find yourself standing in line for a while. That's not necessarily a knock on the business because a busy restaurant usually says something about its reputation, but it's worth knowing if you're in a hurry. The prices are fair, the staff keeps the line moving as efficiently as they can, and the quality has remained remarkably consistent over the years. That's becoming increasingly rare. If you're spending the day at Oakland Beach and leave without stopping at Iggy's for doughboys, I think you're missing out on one of the area's best traditions. We'll definitely keep coming back.

Fresh clam cakes and views of the water don't get any better. So this location is right inside Oakland Beach and while there's tons of parking it can get rough to park, so prepare to walk- but it won't be that far. They have the beach parking (which they charge for, not sure when they start) or try to park in the first few lots when you enter. They also have tables outside and inside to enjoy your meal. The employees are a hit or miss on who's going to be friendly or not so that's why they lose a star. And sometimes the chowder can taste a little unseasoned. But otherwise give it a go. It's a MUST especially if you're visiting Rhode Island!

I ended up going alone this time, but I came back with enough leftovers and commentary to share that the whole experience could easily be pieced together in anyone's head pretty clearly. The first thing that stands out is the setup. It's casual in the best possible way. Nothing pretentious, nothing overworked. You walk up, order, wait a bit, and then suddenly you've got seafood in a paper tray that somehow tastes like summer even when you're wedged into a busy city block instead of sitting by the water. There's a kind of controlled chaos to it, especially during peak hours, but it moves. I went with the absolute classics without hesitation: a fried fish sandwich and a side of fries, plus a lobster roll that, frankly, looked like it was built for someone who doesn't believe in restraint. The fish sandwich was the standout. Crisp coating, flaky inside, not greasy in that heavy way that ruins a good fry. The bun held together without collapsing into mush, which is always a small victory in a city seafood spot. The fries were solid, nothing revolutionary, but they did their job without trying to steal attention from the main event. The lobster roll was more of a classic Rhode Island style than anything over-complicated. Generous chunks, lightly dressed, and not drowned in filler. It leaned into freshness rather than gimmicks, which is exactly what you want when you're this close to the water. It didn't feel like it was trying to reinvent anything, just execute the basics well enough that you stop thinking about it and just eat. What I like about places like this is that they don't overpromise. Dune Brothers isn't trying to be a white-tablecloth seafood restaurant, and it doesn't need to be. It's quick, it's reliable, and it feels like it belongs in downtown.
