This is a great little place with the ABSOLUTE BEST New York System Hot Wieners in Rhode Island. They steam the buns, they use real hot wieners, the meat sauce is flavorful and not greasy at all, and the onions are chopped perfectly. They even use the right amount of celery salt! The fries are great as well, and I recently tried the beef stew which was home made and perfect for the raw rainy night we were there. The staff is attentive and courteous. I kept seeing the sign for this place which I believe says hot weiners, and naturally I had to try it. I was actually really impressed by their weiners! I'm really glad I stopped in because I discovered a great place for a loaded, meaty, saucy weiner. I passed by so many times I was finally lik, ok, for better or for worse I have to try this place. I feel like the food itself is nothing too complex, and the place looks like a hole in the wall from the outside, but damn this place hits the spot! A little gem of a restaurant hidden in providence. I went last week after work to get some wieners around 5 PM, and forgot it was cash only! very strange that the waitress took my order and went in the back room....THEN an elderly Lady came out to make my wieners....First, she forgot the mustard and celery salt, and then she pushed my debit card saying cash only... Had one guy busting his ass on the grill while another woman was "serving" or putting together to-go orders which I get is a staple in todays world. However she seemed upset and was short with the customers she had. Another older lady came from the back, made one weenie and went back to whatever. I left after 8 minutes of what seemed I was invisible. Might need some younger people to work or help out atleast. Or what makes them so compelling that hubby insisted on detouring here for a second visit on our way to Boston recently-ish. What I do know is that you should order these cute l'il frankfurters 'all the way,' as in topped with mustard, spiced meat sauce, chopped onion, and celery salt. Just moved back to Rhode Island. My wife and i craved some hot wieners near our home and we found Sam's was still open. Called and was greeted with nothing but patience from a couple of questions regarding a pickup. Arrived to pickup wieners and the cook himself welcomed us back to Rhode Island, congratulated us for being newlyweds, and made us realize what it really meant to be a Rhode Islander. The owners are Greek and amazing - and prepare to witness some of the best arguments you've ever seen...but in a language you don't understand.
