This company was horrible. I scheduled with the owner two weeks in advance for a move that was 100 miles. I drove down and had everything ready to go for the move. Day of the move!! No call no show. Complete disaster . They moved our things and have over 25k in damages and a lot of missing stuff of ours (about 10k) not to forget we have tons of boxes that are not even ours !!!! As I have tried communicating with Ross about the missing and damaged items he refused to return my txt and calls. I also did not appreciate his crew being so disrespectful to my handyman and partner . Do not use this company, the owner Ross, rents a uhaul truck and day laborers. They damaged both TVs, now have to be replaced, I called him, emailed and voicemails, but no response. Now I find he stole $1380 out of my bank account after I had paid him with a credit card...I have reported him to the bank claims department, the better business bureau and am now going to contact the police department, he's a thief. Here is a great tip: Ask Russell to come by and gave you an amazing quote!!! He did a thorough assessment of our place and truly did a great job as if he was moving his own furniture. He had 2 movers, a great truck and they was punctual. I now know why they are rated well here in YELP and had a gentle touch. His people skills & customer service were outstanding. Just by asking you where you would like each box was so helpful in every aspect of the day start to finish. I find it quite troubling that there are nine reviews that have been removed due to violating the terms of service, and eight of them gave this company only one star...I wonder who one has to harass at Yelp to make that happen... And also, it looks like the owner of this company gave himself a 5 star review back in 2013 (under the "not recommended" reviews...how ridiculous...) Came in and dismantled beds, carried load after load to the trucks, wrapped the furniture so it didn't get scratched, and unloaded it the same way... not a scratch. Fantastic crew. We have moved quite a few times and have been lucky to have used great moving companies. Samson Moving is no exception. Ross responded to our quote request immediately and made sure to discuss additional costs should they come up, like boxes if we needed them. He sent over the contract via email right away so you can definitely rely on them to communicate efficiently and quickly. On the day of the move, Jose called to say he would be arriving right on time. They assessed the job and the quote was reiterated. Jose and his team were quite the work horses. They dismantled our huge furniture and made sure to take care of our items like their own. Some of our furniture pieces were wonky to begin with and Jose made sure to have tools to ensure their solid build once in our new place. All employees were polite and did not complain when I had them reposition items and a whole room until it was to my liking. Jose accidentally made a small scratch on the wall of our new home (it happens) and he said he would come back the next day to fix it. I really wasn't expecting him to come back, but he called me the next morning and came and fixed and painted the wall with the extra paint we had! He even painted areas I had scratched earlier. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We moved from Rancho Mirage to a storage locker until we could get settled to a new location a few months later. When loading the truck for the storage locker, it was seen that pieces of furniture was covered/wrapped. It was stated all would be protected when put in storage. When going to the storage locker a few months later, nothing was covered. Boxes setting on fine furniture, things jammed together and scattered all over. They broke, scratch, dented, bent and some things haven't been found yet. For the amount charged for moving, a few extra blankets/etc should be included, you'd think. Have tried to contact the company for the damaged they created. I was told by the owner, Ross, they had insurance to cover a situation like this. We were going to have them move us to Las Vegas but NOT after overcharging for storage from the original quote let alone the damage created. Who knows what might have happened on another move. Jose was good to help out, however managing the company from Tennessee got to be a cluster when trying to deal with these people. No response let alone not answering phone calls or emails from Dan in Tennessee. Don't let the 760 area code number fool you. Went thru BBB and VISA hoping to hear something from the owner. Since the business is being sold out of Palm Springs, no wonder there's no response. read more

Hard working amateurs. I've moved several times over the last few years, including a move across the country few months ago. This time around, I moved a small house and an apartment to a bigger house few miles away. I contacted Samson based on their Yelp reviews. Ross called me promptly and I answered few questions for him over the phone. I asked him if he would like to come in see the house and the apartment so he knows what they're moving but he said no. He gave me an estimate and said it would not exceed that. The move happened over 2 days. They were late both days. Ross said he will provide 4 guys for the move, he came in with only 3 and said it will be enough. It took them a lot of time to move. He clearly underestimated the size, that's the reason I asked him to come in to see it, which is what most movers do in my experience. His guys are hard working but they are not professional movers. They don't communicate with each other. I was asked questions while they're packing and moving by one of them but the others would do something different. The unloading of the truck at the new house was random, things were just placed anywhere even though I showed them where everything should go and was standing there all the time to answer any questions. Some furniture that they took apart, could not get it together correctly, and if I hadn't noticed it they would have left it. I had a dinning table that expands, they spent a long time trying to figure out how to make it work again, only after I noticed it was hooked up incorrectly. Ross said they can move the laundry set as well and hook it up. which they did, and the hook up was completely messed up and I had to get professional help to correct it. There were few damages to the furniture which is expected to happen with any move but usually the moving company would refer me to their insurance carrier to have it professionally fixed. With Ross, he tries to fix everything himself which I did not allow after the move is over cause I don't trust the ability of his guys. I had a damage to brand new laminate which he tried to argue it was there before but eventually I had it repaired and he reimbursed me to be very fair about it. I don't know why would he pay for it if the move is insured! I paid a 100 dollars down and he said it would be included in the final price but I was still charged the full price at the end. All I know is the initial estimate that he said it would not exceed that, I still paid $100 extra. His guys are hard working and with good attitude, they are just not professional movers. I can't thank Ross enough for all his teams help with moving a client of ours. We are real estate investors and purchased an Elderly Ladies home but also needed to help her find and move into an assisted living center. We are over an hour away from her home so had to try and do everything over the phone as best as possible with Ross. When they arrived to the home there was much more items than we thought but him and his team graciously made it work and got everything packed up and moved and unloaded all in one day while we tried to coordinate over the phone but he made it work and got it done and at such a reasonable price! I would not use them again. We were considerably overcharged. There are a lot of hidden fees that we didn't know about until after the fact. We were charged double time for travel, which the owner said is legal. It might be legal, but we were charged 30 minutes of double time and the drive was only 5 minutes. The move was literally only 2 blocks away. We were also charged for tape and shrink wrap. Another fact that was not disclosed to us. Almost $100 for tape and shrink wrap. Seems a bit too pricey in my opinion. There was no packing to be done. Just furniture. It cost way more than we thought it would. The guys that actually moved the furniture were good. I don't trust the owner. I gave the owner the tip money for the moving guys and I wonder now if they ever saw any of it. read more

Samson movers were on time, took such good care of my items both packing in and out of their truck, and were super friendly and upbeat during a hot moving day. From the day I called and Dan answered the phone with my quote and emailed an agreement to me to 3 weeks later when Jose and Teresa showed up at my place in Palm Springs, the move was seamless! I needed to move from Palm Springs to Torrance and the truck with the Dynamic Duo showed up on time to load up my apartment. They were very creative with their packing of the truck. They actually got to my new place in 2.5 hours and I was at Del Taco thinking I had an hour to spare! The unloading was smooth and they never complained once about the 1.5 flight of stairs in Torrance. I have not found one broken or scratched item. DO NOT USED THIS COMPANY. This organization was one of the many moving companies recommended by U-Haul. I set up the service via telephone because I was coming from out of state back to the Coachella Valley. Spoke with Ross and discussed my needs of just unloading a truck to my home. He stated that there was a 3 hr minimum. We reached an agreement and he sent me electronic contracts to sign. The initial $100 deposit was required which I found normal. Two days later, I contacted Ross and asked if we could move up the date up by one day being that I would be arriving earlier than expected. Ross agreed to the date change and we set up a time for 3pm. The day of the move came and at about 20 minutes prior to their arrival, Ross calls me and states that his men are running about 45 minutes late. I was okay with the delay and patiently waited. By 3:45pm still no movers, I contacted Ross and he said that his men were still working on the previous job and it would be a little longer. Ross stated that it would be more than likely 5pm before they would be able to get over to my place to unload the truck. By 6pm I am calling Ross and still no movers. At this point I was very angry, As we were talking on the phone his men showed up. I told Ross that being that I had already started unloading the truck by myself, I was only willing to pay him for 2hrs of work. He threatened to tell his men to go home. I explain to him that if he could not honor my request to change the date, then he should have never agreed to it. I got even angrier and agreed to pay the three hours and explained to him that I would definitely file a compliant and definitely never recommend them to anybody. His attitude was as if he really did not care. On the brighter side, the two men that was assigned to my move were very respectful and were actually done in less than two hours. One of them even asked if there was anything else that needed moving prior to their move. I am in contact with U-Haul headquarters and requesting that they move this company off of their recommendation list of movers. I am also filing a complaint with the BBB because I don't think that I should have paid for the full three hours being that they were 3 hours later than what was agreed upon. read more

It has been over 6 weeks since Samson moved my coffee table and totally destroyed it. Ross the owner of Samson said that he would get it fixed like new and return it to me in three days. That never happened. Ross will not take my calls and will not respond to my messages. The way he responds is via Yelp. DO NOT use these movers they will rip you off and your only options are to file a police report for theft and take Ross to Small Claims Court. What a hassle for a $500 coffee table that I was willing to take $200 to replace it. read more

I hired Samson movers to move my son today (gift to him). I was very nervous about it because I have never hired a moving company before. My son is very particular and I was very worried leading up to today. I did all my dealings with a guy named Dan with Samson. He was always very very nice and very responsive to any texts, emails, or phone calls. I thought "this guy is almost too good to be true". Well, I wasn't disappointed. I wasn't there but my son said he had absolutely no complaints about how the 3 guys handled the move. Coming from him, that's saying a lot because he is so particular. He moved from Cherry Valley to Yucca Valley. They were on time, and totally done within the 4 hour estimate. No extra charges were thrown in. Nothing deceptive whatsoever. It ended up being $571 total. Well worth it since my son recently underwent open heart surgery and was unable to do it. He has always moved himself. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would! We have had nothing but problems with this company. They made our move from Rancho Mirage to a locker and vanished. They destroyed much of my property, the packers stole from us and we were overcharged on rent of a locker. I have tried to contact them many times and they have ignored us. Went to BBB and Samson also ignored them. This company is for sale, and the guy who manages it (Dan) lives in TN. No one is really invested in this company anymore. Before hiring, read up on them - do NOT go by the Yelp reviews. On the plus side, after I challenged our final bill, we got a refund from VISA since Samson ignored our bank as well. Wow! Amazed at the quality of service. We have never had movers before, but I have heard stories. So I was a little hesitant. They were fantastic. They arrived and the boss introduced each one of the guys. The entire time they were clean, courteous and polite. They are very flexible with their services. You just need someone to load, haul, and unload your stuff? They do that. You have breakable stuff that you need special packing for? They got that and they take care of it. You need them to pack everything? They can do that too. I had a desk that I was keeping in another location and they went and got it. I had a old dresser that is kinda falling apart and I told them it would be okay if it breaks, but somehow they got it to my new place in the exact same condition they picked it up in. From what I have heard, their price is reasonable. They don't lollygag to run up the clock and increase their bill. They worked hard for six hours with a small lunch break and small morning break. They house is in great shape and I only have a few boxes left to unpack. Totally worth it! Made what would have been a stressful day stressfree. Go with this company. I used this company last summer to move my items from my home to a storage unit. I was not impressed, they were not professionals, they were amateurs. There was an additional cost, as they underestimated how many loads it would take, and decided to tell me at the end of the day. I was not impressed. I was not disappointed Making my move more difficult was the fact I had a home full of furnishings moved to two separate cities (Sherman Oaks and Huntington Beach). All of the employees treated me and my family courteously from the get go. They arrived exactly on time for my estimate. Because of the two moves I had items marked to go to two different places. Not too difficult for this team of movers. They were on time for the move and wasted no time getting started. Every single employee was polite and even had a sense of humor which I enjoyed very much. When they arrived at the two separate locations on separate days (as requested by me) they put every single item in its place even putting together the beds. I asked them to relocate several items and they never hesitated and did so with a smile. If you have a small to medium move I recommend the guys at Samson Moving Corporation. (And I have moved many times!) His crew, headed by Emilio was patient, caring, and careful with my belongings. They did "one project (room) at a time, placing everything where I wanted it to be and made sure I was happy with the placement before moving to the next project (room); this is much different than previous movers, who offload and place things as fast as possible. Samson's Owner /Manager, Ross, was very helpful in understanding my moving needs and the assistance I was going to require in order to get a unexpected move done quickly. It was though the two movers, Juan and Alonso, who really made the entire process very efficient and quick!!! I required rooms to be dismantled, separating out two people's life's belongings. They took instruction well and worked without breaks packing numerous pieces of glassware, pictures and books along with a long list of other miscellaneous items. They packed the glassware very professionally and knew exactly what to do in order to help me get this huge project done in just two days!! You guys were great to work with and deserve phrase for all your efforts! I would have given them 5 stars but found the back-office wasn't quite as efficient.
