If you love the purity of a great steak without a lot of fanfare, try this place. We stopped on a whim and coming in the door wasn't really sure what to expect. Does not have a lot of frills or artistic ambience, but the service was prompt and I cannot tell you how satisfying and delicious my strip steak was. Truly delicious. We had the sautéed crab claws as an appetizer. There was a generous portion that was simply prepared. Nice start to the meal. Followed by a house salad, nothing special there, then the 7 oz strip (seemed larger frankly) and a sweet potato that was baked to a perfect fluffy cloud of yummy topped with butter. My only critique would be that the wine selection was very limited and I love nice wine. But my husband said the iced tea was excellent. We have eaten at Samuals Roadhouse on many occasions, the food has always been really good, that's why we made it our go to restaurant in Crestview. Tonight we went there for father's day dinner and I really wish I could say everything went well, but I can't. My wife ordered ribs and my daughter a steak, there meals were good as usual. I ordered country fried steak and it was over cooked and sent back in to be replaced. The server returned with the French fries that were on my plate. I took a bite out one and sent them bake and asked the server to bring our fresh fries with my meal. He returned with my meal and the country fried steak was perfect but one of my fries had a bite out of it, I assumed it was the ones I sent in to be replaced and the server told me he had thrown the old fries away, so why was there a bite taken out of my food, did he not throw them away or were they someone else food that was also sent back. I demanded to talk to the owner who after getting in my face to me it was broken in half and no bite was taken out of my food. Basically calling me a liar. I will be turning this over to the Health Department in the morning. EAT THERE AT YOUR OWN RISK! read more

This place is absolutely horrible. It took us exactly 45 minutes to get an orange juice. The restaurant forgot to order one of our plates. The total experience was 2 hours and 7 minutes (it took about 80 minutes to get the food). When the manager asked if there was anything he could do about the missing meal, we told him a pitcher of beer would be nice ($8). He replied, no I'll get you a glass of beer. Decided last night to give this restaurant another chance at Furnishing a great steak. I must say I'm just as disappointed this time as I was the last. Their prices are high, salads have no tomatoes in them, steak was full of Gristle and certainly not worth the price, service by the waitress was very poor since she completely forgot to bring out two appetizers that we ordered. She offered to bring them out after we got our meal, of course it was too late by then. Shaye,our server was very friendly and right on the mark. The crab claws were delicious and the steaks awesome, thanks to Scott who was the chef that evening. When the steaks first arrived my initial thought was they were all over cooked, but when we cut into them, Wow, perfect. We were half way on way thru our trip and we stopped in Crestview and picked Samuel's from Yelp. The manager suggested the ribeye and told us what it was marinated in so we wouldn't be surprised. It was great. Cooked just the way we wanted. The staff were great. As it turned out we stopped in Crestview on our way home and ate again at SR. This time I had the 6 Oz filet and my friend had the 12 Oz strip steak. Again they nailed it.
