I don't understand why this place doesn't have better ratings. We've been coming here since it was a Coach And Four franchise located on west 90. (Where they offered a large or small petite filet). My Ribeye steak tasted NOTHING like a delicious marbled ribeye. It apparently came from the extremely lean end and was tough as heck to chew so I gave up. Let management know. I didn't want another steak, it seemed futile. The bread was horribly hard, not the same good bread they used to serve. Our server was nice but brand spanking new, which added more pain to an already bad meal only because a few things were messed up. In fairness an employee has to begin somewhere working out their flow on the floor. If I'd have had any semblance of a decent meal I'd have been a whole lot happier. read more

This place was awesome, we truly enjoyed our meal here. I ordered the ribeye and my fiancé ordered the New York strip both were cooked perfectly!! We loved the aus ju, and the baked potato was loaded, I mean loaded with butter, sour cream, bacon and cheese. The sautéed mushrooms and onions were cooked perfectly as well. We will be back. This review is solely based on a takeout experience. We were staying at the Hampton Inn next door and were too tired to dine in so we decided to order takeout. It was an easy process to place the order over the phone and the food was ready in about 15 minutes. Everything was prepared perfectly and we had all condiments requested. We did have to ask for cutlery but this was no big deal. We both ordered the shrimp dinner which was advertised as a special on their website. The shrimp were a great size and fried to perfection. We also ordered the fried oysters and those were well breaded and seasoned perfectly. We would definitely return again the next time we are in town. read more

Seems like all the employees, except for maybe 2 servers actually care about the guests. The rest of the employees are hovering, sitting, chatting with one table, I suspect to be the owners. We waited 20 minutes before a server, who obviously wasn't stationed in our section, came and took care of us. Reminds me of an old-school steakhouse. Menu is simple as they focus on core items. The same is true of the restaurant. Very simple furnishings of tables and booths with carpet floors. They have a bar area, but no bartender. Complimentary bread was furnished. House salad was nothing special. 16oz ribeye was cooked medium and done to those specifications. Minimal seasoning on the meat, but seemed a little lacking. Broccoli side was small. Service was great and quick, as Lauren did a great job. Overall good experience. read more

The potato soup and the stew were both great. Even though they were busy we still got our food and drinks pretty quickly. The waiter was nice and they were quick to bring us our food and drinks. The chicken sandwich was great, it was a lot easier that they put the lettuce and the added items onto the side of the plate. The Fillet mignon was medium rare and it was great with the marinate. The seven ounce New York strip was great and it wasn't over cooked. The twelve ounce New York strip was made well done and it was awesome, it wasn't chewy for that type of steak. The sweet potato, and fries were good as well. The country fried steak was nice and tender, the twice baked potato was different in a good way. We came for date night right when they opened at 4:30. The hostess was very friendly and got us in a booth, even checked on us during our meal. Deanna was our server and she was incredible. She is very knowledgeable about the history of the place and the menu items. We got two signature cocktails and the sautéed crawfish tails to start. The drinks were good and the appetizer was gone so fast it didn't stand a chance! Delicious! We each got a filet medium rare, mine with the green beans and sweet potato, hers with green beans and fried okra. WOW! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. My wife always eats steak with A1 and even though Deanna brought it, she said "hopefully it's so good you won't need it". She was right, which made me happy because I cringe at steak sauce. My wife ate one bite with the A1 but the rest of the steak without it. The au jus was so right with the tender filet - chef's kiss! We barely had room for a bite of the peach cobbler and I wish it weren't so because I hated leaving it. We were just too full. $80 for dinner and we tipped her $40. Stopped in for dinner after driving for 7 hours for the 3 Gun Nationals in Holt. Had the 12oz NY Strip and it was good. I'm used to a thicker cut steak but it was cooked perfectly and the flavor was awesome. There were some loud people at the bar area where we were sitting but nothing intolerable. Good food for a good price. Minus one star for a little bit of a wait on getting the check but they were busy and seemed short staffed based on the help wanted sign on the door. My Filet was cut (Twice), Scallops were left off of one of the steaks - we received them in a to-go container when we received the check. The manager did give us a 10% discount and the food was ok. If you want a tender steak and ribs that fall off the bone and a juicy burger. Well, Samuel's is the place to go if ever passing through Crestview, Florida, or just moving here this is a must-try. Walking up the hill from my hotel because I didn't want to deal with traffic is a strange way to find a really good dining experience but I did. I arrived shortly after they opened at five and was promptly seated by a very pleasant lady (who I later found out was the manager and was attended by friendly waitress who handled my menu questions and odd order requests without any issues. The salad was fresh and crisp and they serve a very solid ribeye with good flavor and correctly prepared. If I were in town two nights instead of one, I'd have dinner here twice. Last night we dined at Samuel's Roadhouse. We had the Tomahawk steak for two with sautéed mushrooms, baked potato and salads. The meal was excellent from the start to finish. We had signed up to the Samuels text club and also received a free appetizer. For the appetizer we had fried mozzarella sticks. To begin... the mozzarella sticks were great and I thought it was a nice offer. There were 6 in an order so for us that was plenty for two people. The salads were very fresh and crisp and they were served with fresh bread that was still hot (yum!) and the dressing was very good. Next came the Tomahawk steak and potato. The potato was cooked perfectly and a good size to share. Finally, let me begin to tell you how wonderful our steak was. (My photo attached does not give this meal the justice it deserves). The steak was truly exceptional. It was prepared exactly as we had requested (medium rare). The beef flavor was complimented with the house marinade to perfection. I can't find enough kind words to describe how wonderful this meal was. Today, as we are traveling, I have made steak sandwiches with our leftovers for the road trip home. The plan was to have them for lunch, but after slicing the meat this morning, I am confident they won't last past breakfast. I did not want to leave out one more thing, the service. Our waiter was very attentive and charming. He brought us fresh drinks and bread through out the meal and checked on us to make sure we were pleased with our meal. I highly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely make it a point to come back when traveling through the area again. Me and a friend went there to eat arriving around 8pm, they close at 9pm. We had to ask for bread. The server seemed very anxious for us to order. After getting our menu and drinks, she came back 3 times in 10 minutes asking for our order. After receiving our food and finishing, she was back around 10 times asking if we needed anything, which is excessive. I finally figured out she was wanting us to finish up and get out. She actually emphasized, "want to make sure that you have everything when you get ready to LEAVE!" Next to the last time she came to the table, I told her we were good "just like the last time you were just here". You should not feel pressured to finish a meal you have paid for because the wait staff wants you out! Our potatoes were gummy and not very good and my friends okra was overcooked. The shrimp had a good flavor. The salad was small and anemic looking with one tiny onion ring and about a tablespoon of dressing. Both our meals were lukewarm. Not a very appetizing dinner! Then a little after 9pm when we were done and leaving, going up to the register to pay, our server actually looks at my friend, an older woman, and says, "you look like you are ready for the nursing home", OMG, who says that to ANYONE? I called the manager to complain and he seemed totally unconcerned and said all his waitresses were very sweet. Maybe that is why there were 5 other people in there at 8pm at Sunday service! read more
