We stopped by on a weekday afternoon. The sushi rolls tasted fresh and had great flavor, but they tended to fall apart as soon as we picked them up, which made eating them a bit annoying. The service was okay, though it took quite a while for the food to come out even though the place wasn't busy. We also felt a bit rushed when the bill was brought while we were still eating. Overall, it was a mixed experience - good flavors, but some issues with execution and timing.

This is the best sushi in the HD, period. The amount of passion and artistry is apparent in each bite. We've been coming here for close to a DECADE, and have enjoyed the consistency all throughout. 10 STARS

The food was delicious. The food artistry by the chef...chef's kiss . Chef sent a complimentary veggie tempura. I ordered the Kani Tempura 10/10....I also had the Ninja roll and Salmon Crunch roll, both 10/10. Each piece was plentiful . My server-Jennifer, was friendly and accommodating!

I ordered takeout today to bring to work. I was totally blown away with the presentation of my dishes. The server was very kind and helpful. The wait was well worth it. The ambiance in the restaurant was tranquil I will definitely have to come dine in.

I was visiting a friend who lives near Apple Valley and happened to stop by this sushi spot on the way home--and what a great find! The interior was super cozy and had a strong local vibe, like a place with lots of regulars. I thought we'd have to wait a while since it was a busy time, but the food came out surprisingly fas! Everything was fresh--from the sashimi to the variety of rolls and even the tempura. My favorites are Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna, yellowtail appetizer and crab tempura. The chef also recommended Echigo Koshihikari Beer, a light Japanese beer that was super easy to drink and paired really well with the meal. I'd definitely love to come back if I get the chance. A true local gem!

Absolutely love this place. Always so good and always so fresh! The only downside to this sushi spot is the pricing. It's very expensive! We are always greeted and treated well here.

Great food and great service. Definitely would recommend or family and friends dinner. Large selection of beers, soju and sake. Kids loved the food. Also family friendly. Food pictures speak for themselves. Delicious and fresh.

More photos included from previous visits. Tip: would NOT recommend their teriyaki bowls or similar bowls (even though I haven't tried any of the other bowls before). Their sushi rolls are SO yummy and filling for their price, so I think you'll be kind of wasting your money if you just get their rice bowls. Their udon is pretty yummy and their miso soup is fine, but I really think getting their sushi rolls is definitely the best bang for your buck.

Birthday Celebration the location had enough parking space easy place to find parking. I was immediately seated the server was the great. The restaurant did have a lot of pictures of people or guest on the wall which was different. I order California roll, the roll came apart immediately which I have never came across eating at sushi restaurant. I was given a free appetizer fried shishito peppers which was the best of all the food we had. I would not be coming back unless you come back for the appetizers.

The spot is smaller than expected but spacious. The server was really friendly and gave us a complimentary salad. Everything was really good especially "the war" roll and the edamame. The miso soup wasn't as flavorful but it was still okay. They also have specials on rolls everyday. Def will be coming back.

I have been eating at Samurai for 15 years. And I received the absolute worse service ever tonight! I can't believe that they can be this rude. They have a loyalty program that you have to spend $400 to get $20 off and they are being absolutely rude about using this last one. I have celebrated 3 birthdays here. I have mourned 2 deaths here and randomly bring everyone I know to eat here.... I guess that ends today! Thanks! read more

They're not really consistent here. Sometimes their roles are average size; other times they're 3X bigger which is a nice thing. One time we went there and we all had the runs. Deals are okay if they're 3X the average size but the inconsistency is bothersome. Their fish is also not really fresh. Their spicy Mayo isn't really spicy or savory but saccharine. The best fresh sushi spot for your buck and tastiness is Soya Oasis Sushi and Love Soya Sushi: Try their Las Vegas, Sushi Pizza roll, *Kiss of Fire, Philly Roll, Spicy Tuna hand roll, and Eel Roll. The best place! Their spicy Mayo is amazing as well. read more

Samurai Sushi is a cute very small restaurant that serves delicious japanese food. Their servings are very big so usually my husband and I share a dish. The chef passes down samples of his grill bar creations which are always super delicious and I love the salad with the green chilies! Yummy! At the end of the meal they bring out an apple cut in pieces with chocolate syrup and whipped cream. A great meal for a great price! I definitely recommend! read more

Definitely the best in the high desert!! I was so happy when Samurai opened up close to home. I have NEVER been disappointed in anything here. Their Salmon Skin roll and Spicy Tataki are my two favorites, but you can't go wrong no matter what you get. This is the place that got my 10 year old to change her mind about hating sushi :) They also have a great complementary appetizer of sweet, tempura battered peppers that rocks all on its own, and it only gets better from there. This place rips! Staying in town from south Orange County for work and friend recommended this place to me..I got the Korean bowl - basically a poke bowl (TONs of fish and food) for $13 and a Garlic albacore role for $5 thinking the bowl wouldn't fill me up which I was wrong! This place got a warm welcome but not with the service, which was terrible and made us feel a little unhappy. Why we have to pay for a high price but manually writing down our menu as the waitress wanted us to do? Secondly, food does not taste good enough to convince our 5 people family to come back here. On the other hand, this place is a mess: slippery floor, lack of light, small occupied area. Putting more stir fried food on the menu would be better. Udon soup was not the original taste. It was mixed! read more

This place is iffy. That whole complex is infested with roaches, Little Ceasers and the 99 cent store. Service is slow. Food is OK and times its good. Hard to find really good sushi in the desert. read more

This is a MUST try if you even think you like sushi. I've brought plenty of friends and family here and every single one has loved it. They've tried random plates and still love it! I will keep coming back because as amazing as the food is, the service is better. Id recommend coming in smaller groups and know that it's always worth the wait here! Keep in mind Sunday's a d Wednesday it's closed, but they're open fairly late so that's nice. read more

Sushi in Hesperia eh? Even though my friend who owns 2 sushi restaurants told me never to eat sushi in the desert unless it's near an airport(ie-Vegas), the girl I was dating at the time was on her period and was craving it, so guess I had no choice, right? Went into Samurai at about 2pm on a Sunday, there were a few people there. The fish was meh. Edible, better than 7-11 sushi, but put it this way, this place wouldn't last 6 months in LA. My major gripe with this place was how they had auto tune mumble rap cranked up to 11. Like LOUD AS COACHELLA. We were shouting across the table at each other. As much as we didn't like it, I'm sure the 80 somethings at the two other tables really weren't fans. I'm pretty sure octogenarians don't want to hear A$AP Rocky's "I love bad b*tches, that's my f*ckin' problem, and yeah I like to f*ck, I gotta f*ckin' problem".... I truly felt bad for them! read more

Great food! The mixture of sushi is fresh, light and good rice to fish ratio. The waiter branden was helpful and explained options to us without and hesitation. My sister is not a fan mayonnaise and there fish is mixed with soy sauce and not mayo! The plates were decorated nicely and portions were sufficient ! I was able to eat one roll and be full! Their apple sake was good. Great flavor and gets the job done. I will def be coming back for more ! read more

I really liked this place, but today I found a piece of plastic inside my sushi roll, so now I don't know what to think. I may have swallowed some before I discovered it, because it was wrapped inside near the black seaweed. I am very disappointed this happened, because I had begun to think I had found my sushi place. The rolls were presented nicely, but now I am afraid. Also, do not try the steak teriyaki dinner. The steak is little sliver pieces of steak that are impossible to chew. Also, the tempura is sliced way too thin. Can't taste the sweet potato. I will upload a picture of the plastic I found in my food. Update: Gave it one more try...Don't know what I was thinking. I got a long black hair inside the parsley, and I don't have black hair, so it wasn't mine. Couldn't eat my roll after seeing that, waste of my money. I'm done. Not taking anymore chances. read more

I really enjoy this place. I've really enjoy everything we have ordered here. I'm vegan and there are so many choices. You really can't go wrong. When you walk in the smells are so inviting. The food is always fresh. Most nights my Bf and I can order one meal with extra rice and both get full. Great quality nice people. Thank you for being here especially in the pandemic. read more

To date, I have never ate at a better Sushi restaurant. The Sushi is fantastic and the serving size for the price, is right. The food dressings are impeccable and sometimes the food almost looks to good to eat, but who am I kidding because eating is what I came for. And guess what else? you don't like something, this Sushi place is not to stuffy for substitutions. It may cost you a little bit more to get what you want, but you are going to eat it with smiles. I've been to both locations and both are nice inside. The Samurai Sushi 2 is in a nicer location outside. The atmosphere is stellar. The great food is coupled with some extremely relaxing music that entices one to stay a bit longer for few tasty drinks they offer. I've tried many Sushi places down the hill and it feels good to know that this Sushi place is close by, in the High Desert. When I say this place is disgusting. I truly truly mean it. Sushi didn't taste fresh, top of my sushi was burnt and get this? I send back my roll just to get attitude not only from who I assume to be the owner but the waitress as well. This man really cussed in Korean under his breath acting like no one can hear him. Not to mention when my husband got his roll you will not believe what it was garnished with. A piece of hair. At this point we just walked out. I don't recommend this place at all. Words can't explain how pissed off I was. By far one of my worst dine in experiences. So thank you for that. read more

It is a nice restaurant. I have been here once, several years ago. It was before this pandemic. The meals, that I have ordered, were delicious. The place was clean and neat. There was ample of space, to sit down, and enjoy a meal. The prices, though, were on the expensive side. Still, those meals were worth every penny. Definitely, if anyone is in Hesperia, I would recommend to stop by this establishment. I will, definitely, visit this establishment. Great sushi! Had the mixed seafood salad and my wife got the ninja roll, our 3 year old got the teriyaki kids meal. Service was excellent with chef surprises- desert and a small salad!!! Great atmosphere and great service will be back soon! This is the only sushi spot I'd recommend in Hesperia. So glad that these guys opened a second location here. read more

Service was a bit slow, but we did have a party of 6. Food came out bit by bit and the kids got theirs last, 10 minutes after the first plate came out.
