Usually walk in to these small mom and pops and brace myself for funky odors (i used to be in commercial pest control and know how most of these are in the back) This place smelled divine! Pure unadulterated sugar smell ... Sooo pleasing to breathe. As I walk in, a guy was helping a customer walk out with a full sheet cake that looked so festive... This place has the best pan dulce around!! The bread is always fresh. They have a wide variety of breads. My dad says the empanadas taste just like the ones from his hometown in Jalisco!! That should say enough about how good their bread is!! I live in Chino Hills, and if I ever want pan dulce, I will drive to Montclair to the San Antonio Bakery to get it!! If you need your "Pan Dulce" fix (and if you're part Mexican, you KNOW you do) you should come get it from San Antonio Bakery. They've got all the "favorites" plus a few extra. Walk into the tiny store and immediately, you're nose will thank you. Scents of sugar, vanilla, nuts, and bread fill the air. You'll grab a pair of tongs and serving tray and it'll be full before you're done browsing half the store! The "conchas" are spot on: big, pillowy, soft but sturdy. I love to place them in a blow of milk, carve out the top (like a hat), fill it with milk then put the top back on. Let it sit for a few seconds then DIG IN! Waaaay better than boring cereal! The majority of the other breads taste the same but what makes them all different is the choice of toppings or additions. For example, the banana bread tastes just like the muffin, except with additional flavor of banana and nuts. Or the confetti cake and other cake options all taste the same except for the buttery frosting spread. You get the idea. One thing I must stress is that this little bakery is BETTER than those bakeries located inside the Mexican grocery stores (or worse, those grocery stores that have a "Mexican" section with a little cabinet full of "Mexican Sweet Bread" **shudder**) I've yet to try their fresh baked bollios, but I aim to. Any fresh bread is good, but I can imagine filling those suckers up with some milenesa, queso fresco, crema, tomato and lettuce and pa'dentro! read more

Wow. When I first moved to Montclair, I was extremely excited. A bakery...five minutes away! I walked over as soon as I could and checked it out. It is a very small and quaint bakery. Honestly, I don't know what a lot of the stuff in the store is. Usually, I just grabbed whatever I thought looked good and have yet to be disappointed. I have walked out with a giant bag of treats and never once spent over ten dollars. Heck, I don't think I even spent over five. The treats are always fresh and stocked well. My only complaint is that often when I come later in the day, the little clamps that they have out for people to claim their goodies are caked with other treats. Best Tres Leches cake my family or friends have ever had! Period, the end, amen! The cake is soft, but not dripping with liquid. Just enough liquid to know you're eating a tres leches cake.
