He is extremely knowledgeable, personable, and I loved his old school vibe. We made an appointment to the estimate and he was very prompt. Meeting Red, talking to him about our patio cover plans, and having him answer any questions we had was such an enjoyable experience. Red, and his partner, Ed have been building these patio covers for a while now. They are a locally owned licensed business that do the work themselves. They utilize quality Four Seasons building materials that require little to no maintenance. The bid we were given and the honest way that Red talked about his life and business clinched it for us. We chose a date, Red & Ed came out the day before the start to make sure we were all on the same page about the build, and the next day began. Ed, and his assistant Isiah, came promptly at the time they said they would. They set up and got started right away. Both of them were also very personable, and experienced. We were told that our project would take about 2 1/2 days, and it did exactly that! From start to finish , this company delivered a quality product that looks beautiful, and should last a very long time. I wish all people ran their companies like Red and Ed, with honesty and integrity. If you are in need of a patio cover, please reach out to Aluminum City. I promise you won't regret it!

However, there was a dent in the patio, which they tried to have repainted by their painter but it didn't work. After the paint not working, the lead installer, Justin, mentioned it would be tough to fix but the lead installer had some ideas and they would get back to me. More recently, I had some other contractors express concerns about the draining that was installed into a retaining wall, and as I am no builder/contractor/etc. I had no idea so I reached out to the Justin again, their call service, and more recently the owner, Rick, with no success. That was now almost 2 months ago, I've sent the Justin 3 texts, which are marked as read, with no response. I texted Rick and the only response I got was asking for my last name, but no response two texts later a few weeks later. I left a message with their call answer team or whatever and I have yet to actually get a call back from that. I've had a significant amount of contractors work on my house/property and I have never had one use a call answering service and never actually not been able to get a call back. I am torn on them because while they seem to do pretty good work and were responsive, once the job was done and we encountered an issue post-install they stopped responding to me for the most part. Now I feel like they are ghosting me, which I have also heard from a family member that I recommended to RKC, which is upsetting as I just wanted to ask a question and get something fixed.

I finally had it replaced last April 2025 by Skyline Patio and Sunrooms with an insulated cover. One year later, it has passed the test through hot weather, rain and wind. No more frying eggs on the concrete floor! I was very very happy with the service I received from this company. Joe, the manager, and Rick design rep, Darrin construction manager, Andrea production coordinator, Dianna sales coordinator, and others that came to do the work on site, were all professional and a real blessing in getting my new patio cover designed and put together with the features I wanted. The crew that worked on site demonstrated much care and passion in the work they did. The crew took time to answer my questions and even made a video on my phone so I could remember how the wiring was done for my patio light and fan. I have gutters on each side and also had outlets put in. Today the temperature in my backyard in the sun is 102°F. In the shade of my Avocado tree the temp is 96°F. The ambient temperature under my insulated patio cover is 84°F!! That's an 18 degree difference! The company responded quickly to my initial call and once material was in, had the work completed within 2 days. They took down and removed the old cover, prepped the areas needed, and cleaned up afterwards. Out of all the companies I met with, Skyline Sunrooms came out as my top choice. I highly recommend Skyline Patio and Sunrooms to anyone. They have a cute little showroom, too!

This review concerns only my experience with Pacific Patio's bidding process. The proposal I received did not include any meaningful detail about the materials that would be used. When I asked specific questions--such as whether the support posts would be steel or aluminum--the salesperson refused to answer. Instead, he responded sarcastically, "Do you want me to tell you what kind of bolts we're going to use?" My answer is yes. The materials matter. The type of bolts, fasteners, posts, and other structural components affects the durability and safety of the finished product. Lower-quality hardware may perform differently under wind loads and over time, so it's reasonable for a customer to know what is being proposed. I repeatedly asked for a list of the materials that would be used, but the salesperson would not provide one. Without that information, I had no meaningful way to compare Pacific Patio's proposal with competing bids. Just as importantly, I would have had no clear basis for holding the contractor accountable if different materials were substituted during the project. The salesperson also became increasingly dismissive as I continued asking for this information. That lack of transparency and professionalism led me to award the project--worth approximately $100,000--to another contractor. I'm sharing this experience so that prospective customers know to ask for a detailed written description of the materials included in any proposal before making a decision.

A JOB WELL DONE We…read morehave a long concrete driveway that curves up a hill to our home. The driveway is 47 years old and was in need of repairs to the driveway and to replace a low curved concrete wall on one side of the driveway, which was badly damaged by time and a large truck. From the Yelp website, I selected 3 five-star contractors for bids to repair the driveway. I'm in my late eighties and handicapped, but in my younger days I worked in construction starting back in 1952 as an apprentice carpenter. I have worked on many projects where I built forms to pour concrete for homes, high rise buildings, and underground tunnels. I have also worked on cementing casing in oil wells as deep as two miles and I have personally poured and finished concrete at my own home. So needless to say, I know a lot about concrete and construction in general. Now that I'm too old and crippled up to work, I'm always apprehensive when I have to hire men to work for me. All too often you get people who lack the skill and experience to do a proper job and often, they don't care how the job turns out. Then they leave behind a mess for the homeowner to clean up. When Oswaldo Minez came to look the job over prior to submitting a bid, I was very impressed with his knowledge and attitude. He told me he was the son of a father and son business and that was my background as well until my father's early death at a young age. The bid from Minez Concrete was the lowest bid and I gave them the contract. A few days later they called to say they had an unscheduled delay in their next job and they could begin work at our home. Oswaldo said they would show up at 7 AM and to my surprise the crew arrived right on time and every day thereafter. Oswaldo's father, Ramon is in charge of the actual work and I could tell right from the start that Ramon is an old school craftsman. He has trained his crew to be competent workers. Too often companies in southern California show up with a boss, who doesn't know what he is doing, and untrained men hired to work by the day. Not the Minez Company, their men are professional workers, who know their craft. On several occasions I have hired people and had to stand there all day making sure the job was done right and sometimes pitching in myself to do the job. After watching the Minez crew for a short time, I knew we were in good hands and I went back into the house. Every time I came out to observe progress there was Ramon supervising his men while working beside them to give us a first-rate job. The repairs all turned out beautifully and several people have commented upon how nice the driveway looks. To be honest, I wasn't expecting the work to go so smoothly and quickly. It was such a surprise and relief to be treated so well with a beautiful result. Oswaldo kept us informed regarding progress and his suggestions and those of Ramon contributed greatly to the final outcome. If you want a first-class experience at a fair price then hire Minez Concrete. They know what they are doing and they do the job right for a fair price. In today's world, that is rare.
