The HOA hired Clint and his team to remove the large (4+ stories tall!), dying pine in front of my house. The team did a wonderful job removing the pine and cleaned up the front yard beautifully. While Clint was there, I had him assess the trees in the back and paid out of pocket for him to prune and shape them. Clint also advised that we consider removing two small ash trees in the back in the next few years, as they will eventually grow far too large for the space. The trees were planted by the original homeowners, and while I'm sad they will eventually have to go, I'll definitely call Clint and his team to come out to handle that work. Could not be happier with the job Clint and the crew of SDTC completed yesterday. Had a Mimosa out front that I wasn't sure needed removal but it was looking pretty bad. Had it removed just in time. The roots were barely there. Could have fallen over . Had two other trees removed and stumps ground down . After a week still NO RESPONSE. I contacted them for a consultation with their arborist on an apparent fungal infection in a dying jacaranda tree. I needed an expert to see if it can be saved and to keep the fungus from spreading to my other trees. Knowing it is not a money-making big tree trim job, I offered to pay for a consultation. Family had them trim some eucalyptus trees on their property and recommended same for my poor 25yr old juniper that tried to fall over after the rains this spring. They noted there was a backlog of jobs but communicated over text really well (even responding to a question on a Saturday) and came on the date and time they said. Took it right out and didn't damage nearby fence. Stump grinder came next day and after pointing out drains and sprinkler lines it all worked out perfectly. We've used San Diego Tree Care for two years as both our landscape maintenance company and as our primary tree removal and trimming company. They are competitively priced, reliable, productive and safe. They've removed very large trees (50+ feet) on extremely steep slopes with limited access, and have done an excellent job with safety as a priority. They have worked with our HOA to improve access to our property to facilitate long-term care. They are responsive, but they are also very busy so plan ahead. Highly recommend them. read more

Had these guys come back for front yard tree shaping and trimming. As usual they did a great job. The trees don't look "perfect" but natural. Again had the same foreman who is super knowledgeable and friendly. Told me why some trees get sunburned and weakened and that's why not to go super thin. Got the job done quickly. I'm currently writing this review while San Diego Tree Care is cutting our palm trees. This is the second time we have hired Clint and his team, and again I'm so impressed. We have a palm tree in the backyard, and when it gets cut, lots of debris falls into the pool. But you wouldn't know it. The team fishes out everything that falls in the pool, and sweeps up all that's on the ground. My backyard looks even better than it did before as a result. I was very pleased with SD Tree care from first call to the last stump being ground. It was easy to set up an appointment for an estimate. Clint was very thorough and had great recommendations. He was not pushy at all and gave me a quote on the spot. I had a 2nd company give me quote. This 2nd company was more pushy, and 40% more expensive. I had 3 large trees removed, 8-10 smaller trees removed and a couple of large trees trimmed. In addition, the team was sent to battle the overgrown 20 ft high honeysuckle from hell and removed every trace of it from my front bank. They did the job in 2 days and left everything neat and tidy. The crew on site was courteous and worked hard to finish on time. Clint checked in to make sure everything was going smoothly. We found a couple of extra bushes under the honeysuckle from hell that they removed without an up-charge. We are very pleased and plan to have them come out every 2 years for trimming so that the growth does not get out of hand. read more

Not sure why this vendor received so many 5 star reviews. I made an appointment with them for a time frame of 30 minutes. Clint did not show up and did not answer my phone call nor reply my text message. The office staff did not reply to my email about the missing appointment either. I would not trust a professional who is not professional. Another vendor showed up 3 minutes before the appointment time and promptly respond to my questions. Clint and his crew are amazing! We have had them trim our 40' pine trees and they were great. One of our trees recent got killed by a beetle so we called them to take it down. They took down the tree ground the stump so that it was flush and we could replant something near where the old tree was. We even tacked on removing an 80' long hedge that day and it was no problem for them Their prices are good and they are fast and clean up everything. After reading reviews I was sold on using San Diego Tree Care. I didn't look for other quotes as I had 4 palms that desperately needed to be trimmed and with the orange seeds falling all over the ground it was hard to keep my dogs from eating them. It didn't do great things for their systems LOL. Clint came out gave an estimate and I signed up right away. They just finished up in my yard and it looks fantastic. Repeat-customer here! 1 and 1/2 years ago we had 2 large Mexican Palms and a big'ol Schefloura tree (not sure of the spelling!) trimmed and the trees liked it so much, they grew like crazy, so now we have to get them trimmed again! We did not hesitate to call SD Tree Care back and have them do the service. It only took 2 weeks to get an appointment. They're coming back tomorrow! On the day of our previous service, Clint dropped by on-site with his crew just to make sure we were all on the same page and clear on what we wanted. I thought it was a nice touch! San Diego tree care was able to give me a much better price because they owned shipping equipment that could chip my palm tree on site. other companies were charging me to take it down but also charging me dump feeds by weight which almost double the price. Sam was great! They showed up when they said they were going to be here. They took every precaution to make certain that none of my property was damaged in the process.
