UPDATE from today: We've now used Javier several times, and he's simply amazing! Yesterday our tenants let us know there's a buildup in the showers and toilets of both bathrooms. I texted Javier and he immediately texted back to say he can check it out ASAP. There was a clog in the main sewer line and he fixed the problem within a few hours for a very reasonable price. He saved the day! We already had him scheduled for our primary house today to fix two leaking toilets, two shower drains, install two shower heads, two mix-it handles, one bathroom faucet, and one handheld bidet. I found these guys through Monterey Park Life Facebook group. Someone had referred them. We had a garbage disposal problem so I texted Mike and he answered back right away. To my surprise, he showed up 10 minutes later with a coworker and they fixed the garbage disposal within 20 minutes. Also, as I watched them wrap up I notice they took the time to throw trash away and wipe down my sink! Professional for sure! I was referred to them by a neighbor last year, and they initially impressed me with their punctuality and work ethic. When our ancient hot water tank exploded, they recommended that we go tankless, referring me to Plumbing Wholesale Outlet, who walked us through the whole process. Yesterday, Javier and Michael installed the unit, and we couldn't be more satisfied. They even went through the house and cleaned mineral deposits from our faucets and shower heads as a courtesy. Stopped Up Toilet and Shower OMG! what a mess I had, I called them late on a Sunday night and they arrived first thing in the morning when they said they would. I have used them for over six years for installing new toilets, a water heater, unclogging shower lines, washing machine lines, and fixing a clogged dishwasher. These guys are unscrupulous. Bid a job to fix a simple hole in a a copper pipe on an exterior wall. They big 2-3 hours work and a total of $250 - 300. When all was said and done - 6 hours work because the idiot could not complete a simple 6 in. pipe replacement. They tried to charge $710 for their incompetency. They tried to charge for 2 men to replace this one man job. We had to get upset to reduce the price, but it still was 30% higher. They also said that they need to pull a permit. LIE. These guys are not fully equipped. Needed a drain snaked but they could not tell if the snake was going the right direction. Instead of putting a video camera down (which is mentioned in their "things they can do") they have you call another company to do it. Now you have two different companies at your home which then of course doubles up your total bill. They did fix the problem, but it cost twice as much. Learned a lesson here. read more

We have had the utmost terrible experiences with this company. The highlights include: 1) No one ever answering the phone or returning phone calls, despite having done multiple appointments to our home. 2) Showing up very, VERY late to every appointment and then leaving for hours at a time (for which they charge you) to "go get tools." This has happened at every, single, appointment we've had. 3) The 800 number posted on their banner is a "you're the lucky winner of a CRUISE!" number. Ultimately, we spend an entire day dedicated to these people to fix something that often doesn't get fixed and we are charged extra fees because they show up unprepared. On the advice of Tom at Floyd S. Lee Fireplace in Pasadena, I called SG Valley Plumbing yesterday afternoon. I needed to have a gas line and valve moved in my 1939 fireplace to make room for some glass doors. Javier answered the phone and told me could be at my house at 9am the next day. After thinking about other stuff I needed done, I called back, left a message and got a call back in less than 5 minutes. Anyhow, at 9:02 am he called and said they were running a little late -- I don't mind late if people at least call and let me know. A major plus for Javier. They showed up and looked over the job and then gave me a bid. I have been doing home construction and repair for long enough to know if a bid is fair. This one was exactly what I expected. So he and his partner started the jobs. This is why I would have them back: 1. The job was more difficult than they expected, and took about 2 hours longer, but Javier stuck to his original bid -- not one dime more. 2. They were neat, laid out drop cloths, and cleaned up debris afterwards. 3. I didn't have to ask them to take off their shoes when they went into the carpeted areas. 4. They did a nice job -- the workmanship is neat. 5. They were polite and communicated well. So, I would definitely recommend them, and more importantly, use them again. read more

These people are an absolute joke. Our Property Manager hired them to fix our ancient heater. Not once did they show up anywhere near the scheduled time for the several "estimates" they were here to do. They finally removed the whole system last week, saying that they needed to take it to their shop to work on it there, and that they would return today and that they would let us know. No word. Property Manager was under the impression the job was already done and was shocked to find out that we were still waiting. We've been without heat for two weeks. Then, these guys just casually show up at our door and say they're here to work on the heat. No notice. Nothing. It's a miracle we just happened to be home. Guess we have to put our whole freaking day on hold now. I would 100% NOT recommend these guys. Most unprofessional company I have ever had the displeasure to do business with. read more

If I could give Javier and Michael more stars, I would. I was referred by a friend and gave them a call. I found a pinhole leak in one of my pipes underneath the crawl space of my home. It had been raining all week and I thought that it might have been the rain. Then today when it stopped raining I still heard the faint sound of the water spraying out from the pipe. I called a few places and two companies showed up. One was a guy from Plumbing Bros., the other was Javier. Plumbing Bros. showed up first. Sean from PB said that he couldn't do it because the area was too muddy and I needed to get a damage restoration company out first and dry up everything before he can do any work on Monday. So then I thanked him for coming out and called Javier back and said that I don't think you should come out if what Sean said was true about the damage restoration company coming out first. Although I was disappointed in what Sean said, Javier ended up saving the day. Javier said let me take a look at it first and actually called me back after we hung up and said that he can show up earlier. He arrived to assess the leak and said that it isn't that bad and that he can replace the pipe, no problem. He and Michael got the job done pretty quickly and I forgot that I had a stuck bathroom drain as well and the guys took care of it. These guys are true pros. They cleaned up all work areas and were happy and polite to answer all my questions. They also gave me a reasonable quote for a job I'm considering. Anyways, my experience with them has been really great, considering it was a Saturday and most plumbers would probably charge extra which I understand. I've been meaning to write this review for a long time. I have an old house and a rental house and the guys at SGVP are my "go to" plumbers for at least 10 years. They have great communication. Call backs happen within 10 minutes. The men are always professional and clean-up after themselves. They take their time to explain the repairs and what is needed. They have never ever "mansplained" or talked down to me. This latest project was that I needed a line installed for a new fridge. They took care of it and were in and out within an hour. You call them and they will respond almost right away. I needed a new water heater and they installed it ahead of their schedule because I was in a hurry, and it was done well and neatly. Everything worked except an old plumbing issue that had nothing to do with their work, but they came back and fixed it without additional charge anyway. This is going above and beyond! Tried Youtube ways to unclog toilet--didn't work this time. SGVP called back within minutes as promised in their phone message. Javier and Michael arrived as scheduled. Toilet had to be moved and a motorized hose was cranked into the bathroom floor hole. When done (OMG in less than one hour), of course the flush was good again, but more so, my once wobbly toilet was set tight and caulked. Asked and answered they weren't in rush to next appointment, so...the bathtub's dripping faucet (no more bucket needed), my other bathroom's shower faucet (stuck and disabled for months), my wobbly kitchen faucet that I couldn't get under the sink to tighten up. I called SGVP to clear up the mainline & Air-Conditioner reservoir. Javier & his helper showed up within 10 minutes of the appointment and proceeded immediately with the jobs requested. The mainline was cleared pretty quick but the reservoir was quite a challenge but i knew and expected that because the space are very tight to work on it. Nevertheless it was cleared as well, then I requested that the kitchen line to be cleared too and that was done to my satisfaction! We had a small pool of water on a patch of grass bordering our driveway and our gardner said it wasn't a sprinkler system issue but the main water line. We called San Gabriel Valley Plumbing on Easter and someone picked up. To save ourselves money and not pay time and a half, we had them come out the following day. The guys from this company showed up right on time and quickly assessed that there was a small pinhole leak in the line. Within an hour they cut and replaced the line.
