Had a lunch with a friend at this restaurant today, a Saturday. This is my first time dining here. The establishment looks very nice and dinning area is kind of dark. We were not familiar with the menu. Because less enough light, we had to use the flashlight on our cellphone to read the menu. We were looking at lunch selection, the waiter told us there's no lunch on weekends and helped us ordered our food from other section of the menu. I had combination #23 which is beef burrito and chilli relleno with rice. When the food came to the table, it looked as I expected, forgot to take a picture ( maybe next time). You can't beat the service at this place! We went for an early dinner, we go here often but I always forget to write a review. It is rare for you to wait for a table, unless you have a big party. Even then you can phone ahead and they will move tables to accommodate your party. We held a dinner here in January and they accommodated 30 people flawlessly, even with separate checks. Drinks were never empty and we were able to send our son off to Navy Boot Camp with great memories. The menu has a lot of options, combos, authentic dishes, seafood dishes, great appetizers, even dessert. There is a full bar, at which you can sit. There is a large variety of beer, margaritas, mixed drinks and daiquiris. Anything your heart desires. The service is never lacking, food comes out quickly. There's also never any pressure to free up your table for more customers, talk and visit without interruptions. We will return again and again. read more

Rigo and the blonde hair woman/ assistant manager has terrible customer service. There was a strand of hair in my food and I was discrete as possible with letting them know. Instead of saying what do you want me to do they automatically assumed I wanted a discount. I honestly just wanted hairless food. When they delivered the second plate there was a short strand wrapped around the plate under the rice. Rigo proceeds to get loud and speak Spanish which I am fluent in so I understood the derogatory remarks. My mom tried talking to the blonde hair women as she claimed no one in the back has black hair. I didn't leave a tip because of the remarks Rigo said and he followed us outside asking about a tip. I don't ever write reviews but feel like it's necessary for what I just experienced. A large specialty margarita is THIRTY TWO DOLLARS!!!! No prices are listed on the menu and our waiter failed to mention that it would be over $30 for one drink when we ordered. Our check was over $100 for two people and $65 of that was just our two drinks. When we questioned why it was so expensive they claimed to use the "more expensive tequila"...if that was the case I would be feeling it A LOT more than I am. I would want to see them make it for $32 for ONE DRINK! A friend of ours ordered the regular lime one and hers was a reasonable $16 and the same size as ours. For the specialty to be DOUBLE that price is actually ridiculous. The food was okay but i would have never spent more than $100 at this restaurant. Unbelievable that we didn't know the price until we drank the whole margarita and got our check and were truly shocked it was over $105. read more

Where do I begin? We came at 3:30pm so they weren't busy. We were sat right away which is why the one star comes in to place, plus it's the lowest option to give. Our waitress came by but did not introduce herself so I don't even know her name she had pig tails tho. Took our drink and food orders.. my husband hated his food he didn't even eat it it was so gross. The queso was gross and the chips and salsa were old and stale. The Mexican rice was gross and I also got chicken and cheese quesidilla it was warm with no cheese.. the waitress dropped off our food and then disappeared until she was done talking to her coworkers and by then there was nothing she could do to make it better. She did comp the bill for my husbands food and queso because I asked. We will NEVER be back and do NOT recommend this establishment. The food and service was terrible. read more

Absolutely delicious! The service was prompt, drinks cold, atmosphere warm and inviting. To be honest I was just here yesterday (1/16/2016) at a friend's engagement party and fell in love. Had to come back for more. Yesterday I had the beef enchiladas with rice and beans. Today (1/17/2016) it was the Chicken, Shrimp, and Steak fajitas which came with flour tortillas but I substitute that for rice and beans. You will have to try this place out for yourself. The food..... mmmmm it was just OK, but good in my biased opinion for Mexican food in So Carolina. I ordered the Chile Rellaño, Chicken Enchilada with rice & beans. I was shocked that there was no cheese or sauce on top of the enchilada and my Chile Rellaño was split open , no cheese and had chunk of ground beef..... but the sauce was amazing! Absolutely love this place! Always fast but it's even faster when you order a la carte. Amazing margaritas! ... Unfortunately the last time we went the waitress was slow and got our order wrong, especially since my husband has ordered his 5 other times perfectly. Also, we were sat down before the table next to us, had a different waitress and they still got out before us. We also has to wait a bit for our check to be processed. I can only say that my guess is that after living in Florida for so long and moving to SC you expect to find the same quality of food but was I mistaken. We went for the first time to San Jose Mexican restaurant and first we order a Sangria and when u went to the bar to return it because it tasted like a glass of red wine they showed me the bottle and it's the same sangria that they sell in Walmart, I had the Horchata and that tasted like cinnamon with water and color. When the food came the wife other the fajitas how can you go wrong with fajitas right, guess again the plate with the rice and refried beans they decided to throw the lettuce and a red sauce and a watery sour cream on top of the rice and the fajitas meat had no taste and the meat was hard. I had a chicken with chorizo and cheese over rice and the plate actually look like the just throw everything together. Very disappointed for the place and there food I was expecting something very different especially since this chain of restaurants have about 10 places in close vicinity in SC. If you're coming here i'm going to recommend that you try any of the fajitas. It's literally enough to feed two grown people...especially if you initially stuff your face with chips prior to getting you meal. LOL. Although the size of the fajita was large its safe to say that it was so good I don't mind the extra few calories. I'll just work harder at the gym right?!? haha. I didn't get any drinks when i came but the other two that I was with did. They got this huge serving of margaritas and pretty much demolished it. From what they told me, it's worth the buck! It's our regular Wednesday lunch place for many reasons, aside from our own "Señor Ed" being addicted to the place. Fast, basic Mexican fare. The chips and salsa are fresh made, and refilled often. The food comes out quickly (careful--"Hot Plate!") and we can get in and out of there well within our lunch hour. If you spend more than $10.00 and leave hungry, it's your own fault! read more

Pleasantly surprised. Didn't think the food would be as good as it was but it did not disappoint. I was really impressed with their queso dip and was shocked that it was almost as good as El Chico's, which to me is a high standard to reach. The guacamole they brought out was fresh and flavorful. The tortilla chips we received were consistently warm and crispy. The salsa was delicious and the dishes were solid B+'s. Service was friendly and fast, and the atmosphere was casual and relaxed.
