LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION! Please read before you scroll!…read moreThis neighborhood is close by the beach and several stores (such as Smart and Final, Costco, Dollar Tree). But don't be fooled by the (relatively) low price and great area. This neighborhood and area have many issues Beginning with the large homeless and addict population. There is a sober living home located one street away which often attracts an unsavory crowd. People often sleep in their cars on the street surrounding the neighborhood and use the sidewalk as their personal urinals so it often smells of urine. Parking is an actual nightmare. If you have more than one car you will need to find a parking spot on the street and depending on your luck if maybe close or it may be several blocks away. And if you are unlucky to park on the street despite a fire station being located half a block away, many cars either broken into or vandalized (scratched/tires popped) or you may be one of the victims of the many hit and runs that happen on this street. Not to mention the gang activity which leaves you wondering if it's left over fireworks from 4th of July or maybe it's time to invest in some Kevlar. Aside from that you have to worry about the pests. There's currently a large rat problem that has yet to be address by park management. This has cause them to chew their way into the mobile homes has ruined many of the new homes wiring and insulation. And with the rats they have brought fleas which are rampant in the plants nearby. Lastly the cherry on top is the park manager N*cholas C*prano. He may seem very sweet at first and trust me I was fooled too. But one slip up or over the passage of time he will become an intrusive thorn in your side. He will step foot on your property unannounced and will constantly cite you for things as simple as your porch plant is unsightly. He lives in the park which should be convenient but it's only convenient for him to cite you. If you need help he never answers his phone or emergency line, and I mean never but somehow he's always there to write you up over your trash bins being out. He tends to act like a one man HOA. He truly is a wolf in sheep's clothing and I've heard many horror stories in my short time here. He is the large reason 50% of the park is all new tenants, because he has harassed the others away. Myself included. Don't get me wrong the majority of neighbors are sweet but just make sure you have all the information before you sign that lease, no matter how tempting it is.

Unprofessional Work, Skyrocketing Costs, and Worthless Warranty…read moreI cannot recommend Cal Star Mobile Home Construction. While their salesman is excellent at closing deals, the actual construction work and customer service are incredibly poor. I initially hired them for subfloor repairs in my kitchen and master bath, plus some minor work on my back porch. The initial quote seemed reasonable, so I paid the deposit. However, the scope of work quickly changed. They claimed they couldn't fix the kitchen subfloor without tearing out the tile, forcing me into an expensive new kitchen floor. In the end, the price skyrocketed under high-pressure tactics, my bathroom floor was altered, but the porch was never fixed at all. The quality of the installation is unacceptable. They cut corners by failing to run the new flooring the full length of the room, leaving unfinished gaps hidden behind my washer, dryer, and refrigerator. The flooring is also not laid tight and is separating. When I pointed this out, their "flooring specialist" dismissively asked, "You can see that?" Their warranty is completely worthless, and they didn't fix the problems. I am now forced to hire a legitimate contractor to completely redo their substandard work. Avoid this company.

Short update on one of the lack luster job done by Chris and Joey from Pacific Coach Werks…read more Honestly they don't even deserve one star! Please note the attached pictures for just two of the windows they installed just a few short months ago! Charged us $1200.00 for these two windows and installation. Look at the trim after less than six months! Obviously they used the wrong adhesive or whatever compound (maybe they just used bubble gum??) Finish trim is lifting off already! Imagine what it would look like when the weather heats up and it completely falls off. One more thing I need to get someone else in to clean up and fix that they did! April 25, 2020 discovered why the trim on the windows was peeling off. Evidently the windows they ordered and installed were too small. Their remedy was to take some plastic trim with a blue strip of two sided tape to cover up their mess. Since the window and frame were about 1/2 inch difference in width nothing was holding their trim to the frame. Hence, the cheap tape gave way and their cover up trim began peeling off after 2 months! Crap, now I have to find someone to fix another of their messes!

A#1 was recommended to us by a friend, so we went with them, and they were ready to go as soon as we called them. We thought we were fine after the initial restoration by A#1. However, a couple of months later, we had another pipe burst, and this time, it damaged 4 different areas of the house, and 3 inches of water was sitting in our rooms. We were devastated. But this time, I knew who to call. Erichand his team knew what to do, so the second time around, I let him handle it with insurance. He kept me informed every step of the way. He never hesitated to answer any questions and would address any problems that you may find. I hope I don't have another water damage situation, but if I do, I know that A#1 will be there. So thank you, Erich and his team. My family and I are very happy with the process, and usually, I hear working with insurance is hard, but A#1 handled it, and it was a very pleasant process.

When I initially received quotes from various companies I decided to go forth with ameriside as…read moretheir pricing seemed best. Unfortunately this was due to miscommunication as they thought I only wanted to replace 75% of the curb facing siding... not sure why anyone would do that but okay miscommunication happens. Installation: where it was straight shiplap across the front, turned out fine. The window was promised to have a symmetrical thin border across as I was sent photos from the James Hardy website... attached you will see instead it is geometrically cut out to avoid the flashing... could have been made thin and uniform throughout however I was told that it was not possible. Many neighbors have gone through other companies and have the same sized retrofitted window but had the siding all done in the same manner. Mine is the only one that looks like this. Even the installer said "I think it looks cool, we never see it cut like that..." but when it comes to housing clean cut and uniform works for us. I was told later, this couldn't have been known before hand until the old siding and window edges were taken down. However the installer knew it from day 1 and said so to me. I believe that whoever the sales rep is should always be forthcoming with the possibilities of outcomes and what it may look like vs showing examples from the company website yet delivering something else. When I went up on the roof to paint the fresh wood I found multiple spots that were not caulked properly or nailed down. (See attached photos). These were fixed later when they came out to install and fix the remaining portion of siding that I had to pay for as well that I thought was included in the original quote. Again pleased with most of it but a major focal point is the front window which did not come out to expectations of what was originally shown. Anyone can feel free to message me for more pics if needed.
