They avoid the ubiquitous sins of being mush, stodgy, or watery. Better than what I've been offered as an entrée elsewhere and is certainly good enough to pair as a side to good fried chicken. __BROCCOLI SALAD__ (included side) Broccoli salad was best I've had since Cottonseed Cafe closed in Martindale (where they sensibly cheated with a trace of bacon). This modest slice would satisfy most even if it was shared, like the shakes at Five Guys. It's that or save some for later. FYI you can order your pie--slice or whole--without whip if you prefer but it won't affect the price. Mine was packed separately for delivery and they still had taken the time to grate a little zest on top. I love little details like that at fast-ish food places. __DIP/DRESSINGS__ Forgot dressing at home for salads I'd packed and didn't want to eat mostly naked iceberg, so grabbed a 60¢ shot each of ranch and honey mustard. Both of them proved delicious. Ordered via Yelp button which routes through GrubHub. Delivery was correct and earlier than the reasonable ETA. Their website also has a delivery option which worked out cheaper, largely because it didn't include a tip. Might try it in the future when I have cash on hand for the driver. I had leftover brisket in a roll this morning and the last of the chicken is going to be my lunch. We got five meals out of two combos and an a la carte order, but if we'd been super hungry and downed it all on the day it would have averaged $17/plate before tip. I find that more than reasonable for filling bbq plates with recognizable cuts and good flavor. Still my go-to bbq place in town.
