Portion size was perfect too, not so much that you're stuffed but enough that you actually feel satisfied. Service was flawless. Our server rattled off this massive list of specials completely from memory and it was honestly impressive. Only downside was our reservation put us on the outdoor patio and it was a little chilly for my taste, so I was a bit bummed we weren't seated inside. That small thing aside, I was really impressed with both the food and the service. Would absolutely go back, hopefully with a table in the dining room next time.

We had a very disappointing experience at Il Cortile Ristorante…read more We had made a reservation weeks in advance for 8:45 PM for July 3rd, 2026 and we arrived on time. Instead of being seated, we were told to come back in 20 minutes. When we returned, we were then told it would be another 25 minutes. At that point, it became clear that the reservation system meant very little. What made the situation worse was the lack of any proper waiting area. There was no lobby, no comfortable place to stand, and no bar seating available while guests waited. The dining room also looked extremely crowded, with tables placed very close together, which did not create a relaxing or upscale dining atmosphere. The front-desk experience was also poor. The host seemed very young and inexperienced, and there was little sense of professionalism, apology, or customer service. When a restaurant is running that far behind, especially for guests with a reservation, the staff should be trained to communicate clearly, apologize properly, and offer some kind of solution. For a restaurant that presents itself as a nice Paso Robles dining destination, the experience felt disorganized, overcrowded, and poorly managed. Making a reservation weeks ahead should mean something. Instead, we were left waiting with no real hospitality and no confidence that we would be seated anytime soon. Unfortunately, we left very disappointed. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Il Cortile Ristorante, especially if you are planning a special dinner, visiting from out of town, or relying on a reservation.

I had my eye on the lamb shank ahead of time, and it turned out to be perfection--easily the standout dish of the night. I've dined at many great restaurants, and they truly executed it beautifully. Everything else we ordered was just as impressive: well-balanced, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, with thoughtful decor and a warm, inviting atmosphere (something I always pay attention to). Service was excellent--attentive without being overbearing. It's now at the top of my Paso Robles restaurant list, and we'll definitely be back. We belong to a couple of wine clubs in the area, so this will be a regular stop for us--especially for that lamb shank. Parking was easy, it wasn't too busy during our visit, and reservations can be made online without hassle. Coming from the Bay Area and being used to dining in both SF and LA, I can confidently say Parchetto holds its own. High-quality food and a great overall experience. Kudos to the team.

Also, same owners of Il Cortile, one of our favorites. The Sunday brunch is nice, eggs stuff, sandwiches, a burger. It had a Jazz trio that was a really nice touch. And, although our food, (me) pulled pork sandwich (awesome) and (the gf) pastrami (she loved) -- our server was so minimal that we complained and discussed with the manager (who was wonderful). I think we'll come back for dinner. Supposed to have amazing steaks and fish. Decor is very nice, modern, with a lovely long bar and great lighting. Yep, we'll be back.

Pork osso buco was a 10/10 and paired with the best risotto I've ever had. Seriously.... A special thank you to Jeannett, who was an outstanding server. Everyone was warm and friendly, our server was very attentive without being overbearing. The food was also excellent. I had the Lamb (medium rare) with potato mash and asparagus plus an Old Fashioned, while my wife had the filet (medium rare) with roasted potatoes and broccolini plus a Margarita. The only criticism I would make is regarding the bread (which was free). It kind of fell apart and wasn't great, but the sauce provided with the bread was excellent! I would suggest they find a local bread maker to supply their bread. Normally I'd say just remove that from service altogether but the sauce was so good that I'd hate to see it go. Again, we didn't pay for it and it wasn't a huge issue, but it was the only thing that stuck out. We would highly recommend to friends and will definitely be back!

So I took them up on their and went to Etto and spoke to Mark Leduc, one of the owners about my experience. He apologized my bad experience and offered me a refund of my bill but also asked me to return so that they could make it right. After discussing the offer with my wife we decided to return and give Etto another chance. I called Mr. Leduc and made a reservation for the day after Father's Day, hoping to avoid the crowds. When we arrived the place was packed but we were seated promptly at our Reserved table and almost immediately greeted by our server Ellen who promptly told us about the specials and took our drink orders. Ellen returned promptly and asked if we had any questions. My wife mentioned she would like to order the chicken fried pork chop served with a lemon-arugula/olive oil sauce but that she was allergic to lemons. Ellen said they could eliminate the lemon from the sauce which my wife agreed to. I ordered the Cioppino which came in servings for 1 or 2. I ordered the serving for 1 and imagine my surprise when it came in a large bowl which could easily feed 2. I was assured by Ellen that this was the 'small' service for 1. We also ordered the sausage, peppers and onion appetizer. All the dishes were delicious and we even had leftovers to bring home. Finally, our server Ellen and the manager (Scott?) urged us to try a dessert from their dessert tray. I ordered the pistachio cheesecake and my wife ordered the chocolate ganache (?) cake. Both were excellent. Overall, my wife and I agreed that the service and food were exceptional and the fact that they reached out to us to make up for our previous visit is more than we expected but show what great owners and management do to please their clientele. A definite 5-star experience. . Sorry for the long post but in light of my previous negative post I felt the need to explain my new experience thanks to the efforts of the Etto Pasta Bar ownership and staff.
