Cleanliness One of my top priorities is a bug-free room, and I'm happy to report I didn't see a single bug--that's huge for me! I'd give the room cleanliness a 90% rating. We had to switch rooms once, and I think the guy cleaning the second room might've rushed a bit to get it ready for us, but it was still good enough. The rooms are small but affordable, and mostly quiet, though the shower water pressure was low, which slowed me down a bit. Staff I absolutely love the staff here! They're friendly and welcoming, and one guy at the front desk, Jeremy, stood out big time. He's a gem--great with people and just made everything better. The rest of the team was awesome too, though there was one person on Friday and Sunday nights who wasn't as friendly. Still, the staff overall is a big reason I'd come back. We were given the "destination fee" card (daily we redeemed: two free drip coffees, two free signature cocktails, $25 credit, and entry into a local museum-which we didn't use). We also took advantage of the $60 breakfast credit from Corinne restaurant each day. The food and drinks, service, and ambience were all phenomenal! The only complaint we have is their valet. They unfortunately are very slow, and not all of the employees are professional. We tried to ask for our car Saturday afternoon (around 3:00pm) and we waited far over 30 minutes, so we eventually canceled. When we checked out on Sunday, we attempted to call for a trolley, but no one picked up. I went down to retrieve a trolley and one of the men wouldn't allow me to take it. We waited and waited for them to come up, and eventually took down all our belongings ourselves. I'd highly recommend more valet staff and some more hospitality training. I wanted to give a special shout out to Luis, who greeted us in valet, and helped us up to our room. He is absolutely lovely! Jessica was our bartender at Anaqua outdoor bar our first night and she happily explained our perks, and modified one of their signature cocktails when I mentioned I couldn't drink coconut. Honestly I never have left a review for a hotel but this one made me want to even just to give a…read moreheads up to others..... to set the scene me and my husband had drove 9 hours that day and finally got to the hotel. When I got to the room it was immediately a bit older and worn looking than the photos. As I always do I checked the bed first only to find little hairs everywhere on the bed and headboard... animal maybe? Then as I looked more there were visible stains on the sheets. They most definitely don't wash the top quilt so we removed that for the rest of the stay. My husband then took photos and brought them to front desk, they apologized and gave us new sheets yet we had to make the bed.... Last thing I want to do after a long day but I'm definitely not gonna sleep on the stained sheets....I honestly thought about switching hotels I even cried tbh because I was tired and upset. but decided to stick it out. The bathroom is fine but tiny. The shower barely got hot the whole stay and mind you I was there for a week (I had no choice). The paint on all the walls was literally peeling and chipped. The rug was dirty when we got to the room. The floor made me not really want to walk around without shoes on after showering because it felt gross. There was a spiders nest on our door frame and could mostly always hear music but whatever that's fine. No TV which is totally okay for us but something to note. We were moving so we had a lot of our values in our cars and while I don't mind the parking situation it was a bit scary as there were occasional homeless people and people that didn't look up to good wandering around the parking lot.. but what can you do? For the most part it's a lot of runners and pickleballers! I actually love the area it's in l, just again something to note! Honestly I was just disappointed. It's so cute in some areas and has great potential I just think they need to maintain their rooms better and thoroughly clean them. Oh and when I got my sheets changed again.... ANOTHER STAIN. Like just throw out stained sheets it's gross. It looked like someone peed on it. Also the sheets sucked and the bed wasn't very comfy. I'm all for the vintage feel, I'm not complaining about that it's just that it's not kept up well. I will say as my week went on and I accepted the cons I enjoyed the pool and pickleball courts! This Kimpton Santo is a stone's throw from the convention center and a just a short walk to other points of attraction, like the River Walk, Hemisfair. I was booked for two nights (only stayed one night and they refunded me for the 2nd night, minus a "late checkout fee."). The hotel has a popular steakhouse, Deans, a very sexy bar, a side lounge to Dean's called The Study, and a rooftop lounge serving mediterranean-fare. (Reservations HIGH recommended for all.) There's also a pool, complimentary morning coffee/tea, complimentary wine happy hour. My room was a king with all the amenities a biz traveler could ask for: wifi, blackout curtains, hot shower... the ac fan was super loud and I couldn't figure out how to turn it off. Thank goodness for ear plugs. Check-in staff, doormen all offered excellent service.

Went upstairs to find 50+ drunk people in a pool. Nowhere to sit! Nosey me asked some of them and it turned out this hotel sells day passes. So as a guest you are expecting to be able to use the facilities but treated like a nuisance if you don't drink or aren't hungry enough to buy food. I sat at a cabana that they wanted to charge me 300 dollars for, watching various families that I saw the day before get turned around because the place had nowhere to sit. You are treated like the issue because their day pass guests are making them money. I brought up the issue to the management that the room wasn't cleaned and they apologized and said Themis isn't how they run things. However! The next day, we left at 12 for lunch and returned at 450 pm to a room that was not cleaned. The same quip response from their manager... this isn't how we run things blah blah blah! So if this isn't how you run things? Am I being singled out? It took a few minutes to confirm that everyone is treated like a nuisance. I saw a woman pulling her own bag cart to her room. Tons of people standing around watching her attempt to open the door with her cart. The manager, some short man with red hair and ill fitting suit is a expert at gas-lighting and must've graduate from the university of word vomit! He needs to be let go because clearly his staff don't respect him enough to change. Either that or he can't be bothered to lead his team! You want a better experience? Stay at the Monarch or the plaza next door!

They used most of the space for the large bathroom. That was the biggest downfall. It's a very high end boutique hotel so unfortunately the price doesn't match the size you get. They were super cozy and soft! Staff is so kind and helpful. Upon arrival we were greeted with champagne at check in and they had it for a few days throughout our stay at certain times in the lobby. Also our dog absolutely loved the treats and doggy bed in the lobby. Totally eed to buy him this bed! When there wasn't champagne there was delicious hot chocolate in the lobby to brave the cold. Absolutely delicious I think they used Abuelita Mexican Hot Chocolate or at least it tasted like it. Best hot chocolate I've had in a hotel! The rooms are equipped with lots of goodies, but be careful they do cost, but are there should you need them. My favorite part is their robes. They are unique and cozy. Also it's so nice that on each floor they have a water station. You can pick sparkling or still. The sparkling water holds its fizz forever! Also fresh fruit like apples or oranges is replenished daily. Beds beyond comfy, clean and it smells lovely in the hotel. Can't wait to come back and enjoy the patios when it's warm! We discovered the King William Manor's "Stonehouse" on VRBO and made a decision to stay there for our entire vacation. First off, Allison, with whom we dealt primarily, was very helpful. Not only did she help us with the rental by ensuring everything was ready upon our arrival, but she was incredibly useful by providing us lots of good tips on how to get around and where to eat. The Stonehouse, itself, was just what we were looking for: a chic, stylish home away from home that was also highly functional, clean, ideally located, and not overly pricey. Add the adjacent pool and it was a no-brainer to stay here. Allison and Craig have obviously put a lot of time and effort into renovating this home. Although it looks very unassuming from the outside, it boasts a lot of nice touches inside such as new paint and tile, new granite countertops, a nice HD flatscreen TV, huge master bath, new washer and dryer, and some pretty posh furniture options. It was perfect for me and my wife, along with our daughter and my 74 y/o father. Everything works and the house is/was immaculate. WIFI is fast and reliable. A nearby HEB grocery store is only .5 miles away if you need groceries. Numerous trendy cafes, bars, and restaurants line S. Alamo street upon which this house is situated. Two nearby VIVA bus stops make getting around SUPER easy and cheap. The southern end of the famed River Walk is a five minute walk away. Street traffic is minimal and generally quiet. We all slept well during our stay, especially since the provided beds and linens are so comfortable and soft. Seriously, this place is a hidden gem. It is perfect for a small family or two couples wanting to visit San Antonio. Centrally located to River Walk, Tower if the America's, and numerous dining options (I strongly recommend Rosario's, just up the street), Stone House is a perfect San Antonio vacation rental property.
