Are usually go to Valvoline, but they were closed down for some construction, so I came here instead. This is my new place. It's great. Friendly service super fast, much faster than Valvoline. The name has changed a few times over the last 20 years, but I've been coming here since I was in high school. Yup...over 20 years. They used to offer a free car wash with oil change when there was a different car wash across the street, but they stopped that about 10 years ago. Even still, I still come here because the same guy has been changing my oil this whole time. They top off all the fluids and never try to sell me anything I don't need. I once went to another one the former owner partnered with in Wilmington and they tried to sell me al this nonsense. They're quick and easy. No hassles. read more

This place just closed on me pulling into their driveway. Garage was OPEN it was 3:39 PM. It is the SECOND TIME they did this to me! The owner either doesn't care about making money and customer service or they are letting lazy employees ruin their business. Either way they were rude to the point of disrespectful and just lost two customers. My wife's Cadillac Escalade and my Silverado.(Both use synthetic oil and with wiper blades, air filter ect, its not cheap. $$$ I try to support the small business owners in my town but I would rather give my business to someone who cares about customers and being successful I won't be returning.. you shouldn't go. read more

Overall: I been here many times because it's quick and it usually includes a free car wash. Sometimes I even wonder if they do the service correctly, but their speed has to do with their business set up. This place is not overly expensive, but it feels like it is when you aren't provided with the free car wash. Also, the business does not have their hours posted on line so I've gone multiple times when it's been closed :/ I wonder how many other people have done the same. One thing I really don't like is that they don't place a window sticker to remind customers when to return.. Service: I don't have the same complaints as other; the employees seem to gave a neutral attitude. It's neither nice nor a negative one. Price: The prices either went up or are based by vehicle type. Valvoline and Jiffy Lube are pirates, constantly trying to upsell you. None of that here. A couple tips: Go on Wednesday, it's $3 cheaper. Quick and easy but they totally messed up my oil filter by sealing it way too tight. Can't even get it off without almost completely destroying the filter and need a special wrench. Not just any oil filter wrench but the one they have not store bough. Kind of ridiculous. read more

I had been coming here for years. Then, last week, I brought in both my cars. They supposedly filled up my Chevy Malibu with oil, but I drove to a nearby gas station and checked the dipstick -- TWO QUARTS LOW. I paid $ 53. I went back the next day and was told that I would have to pay $17 for "top off" service. Same problem with the second car. A day later and a full quart low. Both employees were in a bad mood, no smiles at all or thank you. No way would I ever return to this place or recommend it to anyone else. read more

They are quick, they don't try to sell you crap you don't need and you get a free car wash across the street with every oil change. I had been to this shop several times over the past few years, and never had any problems until I took my car to another place ONE TIME and came back here for a new change. All of a sudden, they couldn't touch THE OIL PLUG because it had been to another shop. Totally rude and ridiculous! Apparently, they seem to think that nobody else in the world is allowed to change your oil EXCEPT THEM! If you want it oil change done quickly and free car wash come here. The front desk can be nicer and welcoming. My husband has come here too and mentioned rude behavior. Well that just took about 10 minutes. No Joke. 10 minutes! No questions, no fuss, no complications. AND they checked the air in my tires complimentary. Tada! I found my new lube guys. AND I get a free car wash. Hello!!! I did notice one of the workers checking the liquids for another car but I wasn't sure if they did that for me. It would be great if they could do that! I'd give them 4 stars if they did the basic car check up. Also if you get your oil changed on Sunday or Wednesday, they don't charge you the environmental fee ($1.50). Not huge but still, that's kind of nice. My grand total was $35. In and out... mmmm, In N Out sounds good right now. ;) If these star ratings could have 0.5's I'd give them a 3.5. ****** UPDATE 4/22/12******* I just redeemed my free car wash (the car wash station located right across the street from these lube guys) and needed to come back on here to update my review. I gave them 4 solid stars because of the free car wash! The free car wash that you get is originally $10.99. They vacuum, put your car through an automatic car wash pully as well as two guys who fill in the blanks and hand wash your car, then they pull your car up to a station where they wipe down all your windows, dry the outside of your car, wipe down your tires, and once finished, you give a tip (which is very much expected of you despite the "free" car wash) and you're on your way! Initially I didn't think the Xpress Lube was anything special from any other Lube location, but the free car wash is what pushes them over to the top end. I smile because the inside of my engine is taken care of and now the outside of my car is equally taken care of! What a sweet pick me up to have a clean, vacuumed car. My back windows were starting to have ugly dirty streaks, so I'm quite pleased with my free car wash. ps. Thanks car wash guys for scrubbing the top of my car as when I attempt to wash my car myself, I'm not tall enough to reach the roof! haaaaaaha! So thank you! I have driven my two Honda Pilots over 290,000 miles and Oscar and San Pedro X-press lube is a big reason why... ] This is where I have taken all my vehicles since either X-press Lube San Pedro Opened or I moved to San Pedro whichever came first. I think Oscar, has been there for at least ten of those years. He is really a great guy and never suggests anything other than exactly what I need. I think the longest I have ever waited is 10 minutes. I never get use to driving my car into Express Lube; I keep thinking I am going to drive it over the guard rail and into the "pit" where the workers do their thing below. I have always wanted to go down and look: I think I will ask Oscar one day venturing into this unexplored realm would be cool. I think that would give me a new perspective on both my Honda Pilot and Life. Just a thought... I just don't know how to ask Oscar without feeling like someone with very severe issues. "Gee, Oscar, it is a lifelong aspiration for me to see the bottom of my Honda Pilot from the Lube Changing Pit." I also have aspirations to climb Mount Everest. The problem is I am afraid of heights and really don't like the cold. I have seen many movies on Everest. I know the different routes, climbers, hazards, and mortality rate. I think it would be cool to say I climb the highest place on Earth. The oldest guy was a Japanese gentleman in his 80's. I think I will settle for Oscar taking me into the "X-press Lube Pit." It costs about 60K to climb Everest now; Oscar will probably throw a tour of the underground work area with an X-Lube, oil change. He already throws in a Car was at the San Pedro Car Wash across the street. There I meet many people each time who are getting the complimentary car cleaning courtesy of Oscar and X-press lube. I have often wanted to inquire if any of them have experienced my challenge of driving into the Lube-bin or, in fact, have thought about descending into the Lube Pit. WARNING TO ALL potential or existing customers: if you do bring your car in for oil change to this location, just make sure to keep an eye on the workers there. You can take valuables out but they will still steal anything. I had things from expensive sunglasses, coins, CDs, and small accessories but if you forget everything to use your valet key, chances are they will steal. My emergency money was taken from the locked compartment. HOW? When you let your spouse take your car and forgetting to switch to valet key. WHY didn't I report it? Because I didn't realize so many items were missing and couldn't figure where I could have left my locked alarmed car for my things to be stolen. Customers Beware! Walked in and spoke with the nice young lady at the desk. When I mentioned I wanted an oil change on an older Audi (10 years old), she asked the guys in the back and they said they didn't do those types of cars. I asked why, to which she replied, they didn't carry the filter. I told her that I already had the filter, and then she said they didn't have the tool. Mind you, I've done my own oil change in the past, and there's no "special tool," needed. The place was empty and they still turned away business. 8-12-13 called midday Sunday and the guy who answered the phone, just sort of went 'ahh' when he picked up the phone, it took me a minute or two just to get him to speak so I could understand his speech (and no I'm not racist),pretty unprofessional for an employee to just grunt when picking up the phone, and worse, it took three times repeating his saying San Pedro Xpress Lube. Ive been meaning to yelp this for a long time. This Oil Change station has always been great to me, but this past few times that i have gone it seems like one of the men working there have been very rude. I drove up like any day to get my oil change and the tall middle eastern guy was talking on his phone i was asking him if they were open but he turned around and gave me his back until another one of the workers helped me out and was very nice too me. I thought maybe this would be a one time event but 2 weeks later i returned with my wife's car and the same thing he was talking on the phone and ignored me i was asking about a price on a transmission flush and finally he hung up and was very rude telling me they couldn't service my transmission there. Over all i love the service there the staff is great and the price is reasonable the only problem i experienced is his rudeness. I would put 5 stars if it wasn't for him. read more

I will go again since it is so close by but If I come across another place, better price wise or/and less cold, it won't be hard to switch. I was very disappointed. I went based upon the yelp reviews. the $ 28.95 special cost me $ 41.98. First they started working on my car before anyone talk to me. They just looked at me and were not very friendly. The cashier started yelling at me across the opposite bay explaining that the price would be about $42. When she got into the office, I explained that this was my first time coming and I needed more of an explanation. She said that the special price was based upon 5 quarts of oil and my Toyota Camry required 6 quarts and a special oil filter. The additional oil would be $7.50 and the oil and filter would be $20. The exact price of the oil filter was never given. The exit is through a littered, pockmarked alley. I will check later to see if I have a flat tire. also, the free car wash is about 4 miles away in Wilmington CA. Overall, I felt that I did not matter and more over, bamboozled. read more
