If you need to be in this area for work, this is the perfect hotel for it. Walking distance to the Bishop Ranch & Roundhouse centers. Also right next to Target. Easy check-in process, good lobby bar/grill, room service is like a sort of take-away drop off service but they have good options. Loved celebrating my sister's birthday this weekend here at the Marriott! The first thing I noticed when I walked in was a beautiful scent of the hotel! That same scent in the hallways as well! The was ok, but my the bed allowed for an extremely comfy & restful night! The limited number of people on the gym this morning made me feel very secure! Stayed here multiple times in the last 6 years. Today's stay featured a quick check in with no hassles. The place smells great. Room has recently been remodeled and is modern and clean. Restaurant staff are friendly and accommodating. If you have Platinum status and above, the M Club is amazing. The gym and pool are top notch. Truth be told, not very happy with this stay. I come here every year for a conference and usually my stay is great, nothing to worry about at all. However, this time was a little bit different. Water temperature is a pretty big deal for me and when I went to take a shower, I dialed it to the hottest part. It was literally ice cold and it wasn't even a time when everyone usually takes showers. So I stood there and it took around 10 minutes before the water temperature went back to normal. In addition, when they came to clean the room, they didn't clean the bathroom... weird. There wasn't any personal possessions in there to be worried about too. Props to holding a great conference and being at a great walking distance to places; however, the water temperature and room service oh man. I stayed for 3 nights at this Marriott under two different reservations. The first reservation was for one night. When I asked for a higher floor, the front desk staff, Miguel, told me I would have to pay more for that!! Seriously??? I didn't know there is a rule like that, didn't see this when I booker the room or mentioned anywhere. Not to mention, this is the suburb. A few days later, I returned to this hotel to stay for 2 more nights. This time, Adam, the front desk staff, was friendly and helpful. He put me on the top floor and didn't mention anything about extra charge. What a surprise!! I think the other guy was being difficult or came up with the rules himself. Also, they charge for parking. Being in a suburb and charging for parking is quite absurd. If it's in NYC or SF, I can understand. I got to try out a few things at the Bishop Grill. The mixed drinks were pretty good. I had the Orange Crush and the margarita. Both were great. Their chicken wings were delicious, so was the chicken bbq flatbread. It's disappointing that their Happy Hour drink menu has limited choices and not too clear about what mix drinks are discounted. My Happy Hour experience was not too pleasant. First, there was no server except a bartender to take my orders. Then the order didn't come out right. During this time, the manager, Hopeton, was standing around doing nothing or watching the basketball game on the tv at the bar. When I asked him to add the flat bread to my order, he didn't seem to care and had an attitude, as if he was too good to take an order. Then the bartender, Mr. Tang, had to help. Seriously, if you are a manager, shouldn't you help a customer regardless, especially when no server was around?? I guess Hopeton thinks he is way too good for his job. The chicken wings were juicy and flavorful. The chicken BBQ flatbread was delicious and the bacon made it even better. The bbq sauce was good, the flatbread wasn't dry and had enough toppings on it. The server for my dinner, Cynthia, was friendly and helpful. She gave recommendations on drinks and the food. Overall, staying at this Marriott isn't bad, but I have experienced better at other Marriott. The room is clean and quiet. That's a given. Definitely there is room for improvement. read more

2/25/22 my life change forever!!! I booked a weekend Stay to rekindle my 9 year relationship with my fiancé. I arrived at 10:20 pm. Upon my arrival I sat in my car for a moment to collect my thoughts and belongings while holding a conversation with my fiancé via speakerphone. As I exit my car and proceeded to the lobby I heard a loud voice on the intercom saying "drop your bag". I proceeded to the lobby when again I heard the voice yell "drop your bags". When I turned around there was a bright light in my face what about eight guns pointed at me, I was so confused so I asked are you speaking to me and the police said yes drop your bags and walk over towards me. While still on speaker phone I followed all commands. My fiancé then FaceTimed me, as I proceeded to answer, the voice over the intercom yells "put your hands back where I can see them if you don't want this to end the wrong way". As I'm approaching the officers, they're yelling "where's the gun"!!! I was terrified!! I'm black, it's dark outside & I don't have a clue what's going on. I literally pissed my pants. Come to find out I matched the description of a suspect with a gun. The Marriott employee called and made a false report against another black woman that actually never possessed a gun. The San Ramon police watched the hotel footage with the employee to figure out where & when the suspect had a gun. The employee was unsuccessful with locating the gun in the footage. The actual suspect suffers from schizophrenia, she's harmless and not known by family and friends to be violent or possess a handgun. This was an horrible event. The hotel compensated my 2 nights while expressing they were sorry for the actions of the police, when in actuality the hotel knew the entire time that their employee gave a false statement which was the cause for this entire incident!!!! My investigation has lead me to believe that the Marriott hotel chains are Bias, & not to fond of African Americans. The fact that this corporate establishment isn't taking responsibility for their actions is mind boggling!! The employee is still employed!!! They've hired their 1st African American in a very long time, since my incident. I advise all African Americans to proceed with caution when staying at the Marriott franchise. This was a nice Marriott near the free way in San Ramon/Danville Area. A few blocks away is Target, Wholefoods, Peet's Coffee and other stores and restaurant. When we stayed here, there was an Indian Wedding festivities which started on Friday and went through at least Sunday. There were a lot of people from the wedding and since the lobby area is not so big, and the conference rooms are by the lobby there was definitely congestion in the entrance to either check in or get to the elevators. The rooms were nice, I loved the citrus scent throughout the hotel hallways. There was a bar area that guest stayed around in. Parking is a little bit of a walk especially if there is an event happening. read more

I've been to so many meetings here. They are always well run, with comfortable meeting space, good food, and great staff. Parking is usually free when attending the conference is. I've never stayed here so I can't speak to the hotel rooms, but for conferences it is a great place. read more

It was a nice mini vacation. The staff was so nice and helpful! Was there for a family wedding. The hotel had multiple events all weekend and the hotel never seemed crowded. My only complaint is the restaurant. Breakfast buffet could have been hotter and the staff could have explained things better. Like that you could order off their menu. Dinner wasn't much better. Limited options that weren't that great. With the excuse being that they are under staffed. However even the the restaurant issues I would stay again! read more

Staying here for my daughters soccer tournament. The cleanliness is good but small double beds. We asked for late checkout the night before, they gave us noon but the rest of our team who asked after we did got later check out times than noon. The San Ramon Marriot is such a lovely place to stay. Sadly, I was out of my house for 4 months and living here during the week and at another location on the weekend. San Ramon Marriot is spectacular from the customer service to the food quality and the room quality. Starting at the lobby: People like Junnelle, Miguel, and a few others whose names I never got were lovely. They handled my check in and check outs seamlessly, they always had a smile when I walked by even when they were busy. On the few nights when the Presidential Suite had late lasting loud parties, they took care of me. When my next door neighbors were awake at 4:18 am talking very loudly, they moved me. Every encounter was awesome. We stayed on the concierge level so Sun-Thu nights were spent having a small dinner with coffee and cookies for dessert. PJ and Pam were the quintessential hosts making sure that our food needs were taken care of and fixing the coffee machine endlessly. My family enjoyed our chats with both of these two lovely people. The rooms were quite nice also. I have never slept in such a luxurious bed with soft duvets. What was really nice is that I checked in went upstairs to put my things down when a knock came at the door. I opened it and someone had brought me my extra duvet because the hotel had noted that I had asked for it before. That is the kind of attention that is crazy great and make the Marriot customer feel values. I read how others said that if something was wrong, they offered another room but didn't send anyone to help. I had to move 4 different times because of noise and EVERY.SINGLE.TIME a busboy came and moved my things cheerfully and had my new room keys in hand. I'm shocked that someone said that this didn't happen for them. I am also shocked at the restaurant experience of others. So, I have always found them to be attentive. I did not find the menu limited at all. I ordered room service and there was a small problem there. The sent up my turkey sandwich missing the advertised bacon and side of raw onions that I requested. I called and someone came up to complete this order. Now, the person on the phone said that they would credit me and I don't think they did because I saw a room charge but am I going to take away a star? No! It's a small blimp on the radar compared to everything they did right. Every morning (M-F) I had the buffet in the restaurant. It was delicious. My only complaint really is that there never was an option of fried eggs. It was scrambled or hard boiled eggs every morning. Ana and Ursula were amazing hostesses who learned my name and my room number fast! I couldn't even keep track of the room numbers! Another fun thing was that they had a pumpkin decorating contest for the employees and guests got to vote. I loved that but I never found out who won which was a bummer! I think instead of taking away the pumpkin displays so quickly, they should have left them out for the remained of the week with the ribbons showing what place each pumpkin won. Appalled! We booked a special wedding night for my daughter and our son in law after enjoying an intimate wedding near by in Danville. The room we reserved was supposed to have a view overlooking the pool. The room they were given overlooked the roof, facing the freeway noise. We have been Marriott members for years- and disappointed at their service. They blamed COVID with limited rooms as their excuse. How can this be? The room was booked weeks ago! Memories like this are indelible. We are planning a reception with 150 people a year from now and will most likely look for a more reliable hotel. We're staying here for a family wedding. The rooms are decent and clean. They come stocked with mini fridges. I particularly enjoyed their gym, which has an impressive amount of equipment for a hotel gym. They also have a fun pool area and plenty of seating. You can grab drinks from the hotel bar. I also like the small pantry area where you can buy some essentials, and they have hydration stations where you can refill water bottles. I was, however, disappointed with the lack of housekeeping services during our 3 night stay, even after we requested them. I also found the front desk staff were not particularly helpful, and some were downright rude. I think they would benefit from hospitality training. read more

I stayed here for a night after attending a wedding at The Bridges Golf Club. It was a bit difficult to find at night because its not on the main road. The room was quite nice. Usually, its hard for me to fall asleep in hotels, but I was out like a light! The setup was a bit odd though. The tv was on the right side of the bed, so you had to turn to watch it. The bathroom had toiletries from Bath & Body Works, and not any of those generic hotel brands. The hotel let us do a late checkout at 3pm on Sunday. We woke up early enough to go to brunch, and then we were going to go for a swim in the pool. When we got back to the hotel, we ended up watching tv and passing out, so we didn't get to make use of the pool. The staff was quite friendly. Everyone we passed by greeted us and always had a smile on their face. Great service! Definitely 5 stars for service! I had to dock a star for parking. They actually charge for parking! You either valet your car or park it in the lot, but you still have to pay. This is San Ramon, and not SF.....I don't think they should be charging when they're out in the middle of nowhere. read more

At a recent trade show I had the opportunity to enjoy the services of the San Ramon Marriott. It started very early in the morning and included a wonderful breakfast spread of Eggs, Muffins and fresh Fruit. My booth and all of the other vendors at the show had their tables set up and down the hallway area in front of the conference room. Attendees of the conference were able to walk up and down the hall way and see out tables on either sides of the room. This place is really clean. Bathrooms were spotless, but very far away from where we were at. I felt like I had to walk a mile to go pee. We also had lunch in one of the ball rooms. I ordered the Skirt Steak with Gnocchi like little balls and green & white Asparagus. I really enjoyed it. The food was very high quality, considering it was hotel food. During down moments in the show I checked out the bar and liked what I saw. There were a few families showing up for weddings. Some brides to be and their brides maids drinking it up before the big day. The hotel itself has gorgeous grounds. There are many, many redwood trees providing beautiful shade. Its all well laid out and very peaceful to walk through. I would come here again for an afternoon cocktail with my man. I should have checked if they have a pool. I may come back to stay a weekend just for that. read more

I did not actually stay here overnight, but I was here for a 3-day review course in their lecture hall. There is a parking lot, but you will need to pay to park, which is annoying especially if you are not there overnight. We were fed the three days we were there but the food was bland. The lecture rooms were huge and spacious. I liked that there were water and coffee available almost everywhere. I do not like the bathrooms are far but well kept. I would recommend that the hotel not charge for parking for those not staying at the hotel. read more

What a terrible experience. The person at the front desk was extremely rude right off the bat, "credit card and ID", not even "Hi sir how are you doing today?". I booked 2 bedrooms on the same reservation under my name and my credit card (family of 4). I left my wife and kids in the car in order to check-in. They would not let me checkin for our 2nd bedroom I paid for. They gave me the key for one bedroom only and when I asked for the 2nd one, which I booked under the same reservation, they said my wife had to come and check-in for it, because I put her name on the 2nd bedroom when I booked online (she was handling 2 kids in the car, not easy to get around). The person said it was a separate reservation, but it wasn't! All under my credit card and personal hotels.com account. They would not let me get the key. When I came back with my wife and 2 kids, they figured I wasn't happy at all but they didn't even apologize. It would have saved us a lot of headaches to just let me check-in for our 2 bedrooms. Again, both under my personal account! We called the front desk from the bedroom 10 minutes later to get a crib and that same person told us that it would be difficult and that we'd have to leave the bedroom in order for their staff to come set it up. At the end, someone came at the door to give us the crib and looked at us weird when we said "wait, we're leaving now to let you set it up like they told us at the front desk". They said they didn't care at all and didn't understand why we'd leave. Last but not least, that specific person at the counter didn't even give us any instructions for the internet. We had to call the front desk, again, to get the info. I ended up paying $15 for complementary internet that didn't even work at all in the bedroom, poor signal! I ended up using my own cellular data plan. If you're the manager of this hotel and read my review, please contact me for more info in order to find out who was at the front desk when we checked in. A Marriott is a Marriott is a Marriott. There is little to denigrate or praise about it because you know exactly what you get when you book a room in one. I did for two nights because my company offsite was being there, and the reservation was made for me. San Ramon has next to no identity to me as a destination which was probably just as well since the meeting agenda was packed. If you are looking to book stays at the San Ramon Marriott, I highly suggest to speak to Luis or Sue after booking. They were able to accommodate our requests and got us moved to a room that works perfectly for my mom who has a double hip replacement. First room they provided was quiet, had a spacious balcony but was at the far end of the floor. Second room, was closer to the elevator but facing roof vent turbines which were noisy depending on the time of day. Luis made sure the "third time was the charm", and put my mom in a room that is quiet and close to the elevators. Hotel location has a high walk score. Close to Target, Whole Foods and San Ramon's City Center. WIFI is free as long as you have a Marriott Bonvoy account (free to sign up). Microwave is readily available at the dining area. Pool area is open even during COVID. Requires scheduling. CONS: Parking is pricey considering this location is in the suburbs. The property is close to needing an update. read more

This review relates strictly to engaged couples looking for a wedding venue - I have not stayed at the San Ramon Marriott (nor do I plan to). Do NOT plan to host your wedding here. The San Ramon Marriott popped up on numerous wedding planning sites, and we decided to reach out for more information / an estimated bid. Of the 50+ venues we reached out to, we were shocked at how incredibly unprofessional and rude Tammy Good, the Senior Catering Sales Executive, was. We provided Tammy with a plethora of information we knew she would need in order to put together an estimated bid. She requested we hop on a call, but come the time of our scheduled call, she did not call, nor did she follow up with an e-mail to apologize for the no-show. We left her numerous e-mails and voice messages, trying to get hold of her, and finally were transferred to her desk by her assistant. Tammy made no apologies for her no-show nor for not responding to any of our attempts to reach her. Her unenthusiastic tone was extremely bored (versus other venues that shower you with cheerfulness, no doubt, in hopes to earn your business) and told us that she would have a bid to us within the week. Well, to no one's surprise, we received absolutely nothing from Tammy - not even an update asking for additional time to put together our bid. We wanted to give the San Ramon Marriott one more try, so we asked Tammy's manager to transfer us to another Sales Executive who, again, made the same promise to provide us with a bid, but failed to do so, and did not respond to any of our follow up e-mails or voice messages. What's worse is I have spoken with two friends who had been interested in the San Ramon Marriott, and their negative experiences with Tammy led them to also choose another venue. I caution any engaged couples from pursing the San Ramon Marriott as a potential venue, and I encourage the Catering Team to speak with their Sales Executives on how to be more professional and courteous. read more

Went here for a traditional hindu indian wedding, dinner reception, and little parade in the parking lot with groom on a white horse - quite the event! The facilities look up-to-date and the ceilings were pretty tall and nicely decorated with big modern circular deco lighting - not your typical boring old chandelier. Been to this Marriott several times but not in 10 years. It's still in great shape and staffed with courteous listeners. Our room was clean and comfortable. The AC worked great, the cleaning service was good and the staff was exceptional. All requests were quickly fulfilled. I had lost a very special box of collectible items and went downstairs to see if someone turned it in. The concierge asked me quite a few questions about it, having me describe the box and its contents in great detail. After, he smiled and said: "I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. Your collectables are so cool and in such great shape. I just wanted to pay my compliments." All was well, with nothing missing. The prices at the Marriott chain can be expensive but this location always swings a deal and offers a great room at a great price. read more

We stayed here this past weekend for a wedding. Our actual stay was nice, no complaints, however leading up to it was such a hassle with our reservation! I booked our reservation online, for one night for the wedding block price. That was fine. No problem. Then later on, we decided to add one extra night before. No big deal, right? Well, it turned out to be so complicated! I called the first time. Then we got a call back two days later there was a problem to call back. I called back and the lady said that it was never booked, and she will book it again. This lady was not from reservations, she was actually from San Ramon. I said okay. She said we would get a different room and a king size bed the first night, and then the second night get a different room because we were sharing with more people the second night. I said okay, and was looking forward to try out a marriott king sized bed since the lady raved they were like sleeping in your own county. Then I a couple days later, i realized we didn't get a confirmation email. I called again, and they immediately transferred me to reservations. The guy said there was no sign of that extra night I added...only two reservations, in two rooms, for one night! Ugh! I had to wait the next day, the day of our reservation, so i could talk to someone in the business office of the hotel. She cleared it for me, and said it was now fine, and we could drive up to nor cal with assurance of our reservation. But once again...we got no confirmation email! When we got there, the front desk person said that there were two reservations, one for two night, and one for one night. Once again, that is NOT what we needed! We needed one room for two nights! She said she believed my story, but she showed some doubt because she said she was surprised there were no notes on the reservation that i had spoken with someone so many times. She had to get a manager to help us out, who fixed everything once I explained everything. This manager was very helpful and seemed sympathetic to all the hassle. She was working on Friday night, last week, Asian American lady. We were both exhausted because we had driven all day and it was getting late. So, it all worked out, and she fixed everything in the computer and we were charged for one room two nights. We didn't get a king size bed, but whatever, it was nice to stay in the same room both nights. Other than that, the pool was nice, not crowded, the bar/restaurant seemed nice too, there was an outdoor fireplace which was cozy. The rooms were great, clean and nice. The hotel is located nearby many shops and places to eat. It would have been nice to have a free breakfast and free wifi....but that is not a big deal. I am hesitant to reserve with Marriott again because of that reservation experience...however my actual stay was nothing to complain about. :) read more

On December 17th 2022 the Union I belong to held a Christmas party at this location. For dinner they served us the driest chicken breast I have ever eaten in 52 years. What an embarrassment for supposedly one of the finer hotels. It also had a bland white sauce that was over the top. The spinach salad was the only good part of the whole dinner. What a disgrace. This is a Marriott hotel and I've stayed in many all over the country and Europe. It's hard for me to believe how this property, and specifically the parking and staff, could be so sub-par. I'll keep my experience brief as it's almost identical to one I had a year ago and assumed it was an anomaly. Long line of cars to get out of the parking lot. I see this as I'm walking to the car and alert a valet that there's clearly a problem. He tells me to go out the back gate. I do just that and the gate is "closed". I then wait in line at the main gate and when I put my validated ticket in, it says "expired". Was validated at the bar literally 5 mins earlier. Thankfully my friend had a room key and we got out. The training of staff, the operations oversight, the total disregard for client service, all point to a very poorly managed property. read more

This is the most welcoming hotel that I've been to in awhile. Everyone from the valet, bellhop, House keeping staff, front desk and wait staff are so polite. Each and every staff member greets you to make certain your needs are being met. My friend was delighted when she was addressed as "my lady" as she was checking in. Lovely grounds, the only downside is traffic noise when you are outside, but not a problem in the rooms. read more

My good friend and her soon-to-be husband were getting married at the Bridges Golf Club in San Ramon and she had a block of rooms reserved for the wedding guests at the San Ramon Marriott. We reserved our rooms a month before with the link from the bride and groom. Our rates were very discounted; especially for bay area prices. My husband and I drove in from Sacramento and quickly found parking. Lots of guest parking spots available (or one can do valet as well). The concierge/registration was simple and easy. We were warmly greeted by the staff and they welcomed us with a care package specially made by the bride and groom. The front lobby area of the hotel was very inviting, fresh water served, lots of comfortable seating areas, a big and open restaurant and all the luxuries that a top notch hotel provides. Our hotel room very spacious, a good size restroom and lots of closet space for our wedding attire. We had a huge King bed and lots of room to have our luggage spread out. My only major issues was that there was no vent system in the bathroom. What happened? Otherwise, a great place to stay with friendly staff inside and outside. I would definitely come back here and/or recommend it to a friend. read more
