Was just here for 4th of July on a whim. I decided to try this instead of Prince St. Pizza (Iv'e had Prince St. before and it's overrated). I'm glad I made the choice to go here instead. It's a little family owned hole-in-the-wall but don't let that fool you. This was one of the best pizzas I've had in California. It tastes just like street slices you can get in NYC. They gave us homemade ranch and buffalo sauce (all organic). I'd say it was one of the best buffalo sauces and ranch dressings I have ever had. It was actually amazing. I'm a big foodie so I know when something is of good quality. The owners Linda and Nasir were very nice and complimentary towards me. I believe they are Italian.. They're welcoming and were very thankful of the compliments I made about the food. read more

From the street, it's a bit of a hole-in-the-wall and it's only seating is a few stools outside. Do *not * let that fool you into thinking it's substandard pizza, it is not. Far from it. We discovered it during a 'pizza wars' competition run by an outside company (which was kind of a flop, but that's completely unrelated to the business). We are SO glad this place was included, we enjoyed our slice and knew immediately we wanted to go back. Last night we stopped in on our way to Ace, we ordered a whole pizza to take home and.... *WOW*. The ingredients are fresh with great dough and the sauce is FANtastic! Fantastic, I tell you. My husband is a traditionalist and refuses to order much more than pepperoni, so that's what we got. And it was sooooooooooo good. The owners are friendly and helpful - and married. As a business owner myself (and my family owned businesses my whole life), I'm always thrilled to find a small business that I really want to do business with. This is definitely one of them. We've tried a number of different pizza places on the convention center side of downtown SD and this is !!! I do believe we found our favorite pizza place. Thank you for reading my review. Late night walk around the Gaslamp Quarter and we stumbled on San Remo Pizzeria. The Mister can never pass up pizza, so we stop in and he grabs a sausage and pepperoni slice. We met Nasir who was really nice and conversational excellent customer service. I must say I was sad that I didn't get my own piece because the pizza was really good. The Mister gobbled in up a a matter of what seems like seconds. The ambiance reminds you of something you would find in New York City. No inside dining but out side seating so you can truly watch the night life in the gaslamp. Next time we are in the area I will be getting my own little slice of Italy. read more

Visited San Remo on July 4th after just walking around downtown looking for a bite to eat. Walked into this pizza spot and was NOT disappointed. Thin crust is perfectly soft and crispy after coming out of the oven, dipped into Nasir's homemade ranch? I'm big on ranch but this one tops all the dips I've ever had. Owner Linda also topped my slice with a bit of her homemade buffalo sauce. AMAZING!!! Linda and Nasir own this location and another near SDSU. Located in the heart if downtown San Remo Pizzeria is a convenient quick bite after your late night activities in the city. Walking distance from Petco Park and the bar scene, they offer a variety of pies. They do offer a $16 deal that includes 2 slices of pizza of your choice and a drink. The man working the counter was a highlight and the pizza was decent but it's convenient. He doesn't take long to reheat the slices. You can see my pizza reviews, I take pride in it. It's been my favorite food for 45 years. I was with my son for his 13th birthday, and drove into town to celebrate for the weekend. Today I researched the best pizza places in Gaslamp. This place had good reviews and the pics looked like a place that I could give a shot. I waited all day, and a Padres/Red Sox extra innings game, to get there. Long walk and a hungry belly we finally get there. My plan was to get a pepperoni pizza to go and eat it with my boy at the hotel. I asked for a pepperoni pizza and they rang it up as $52!!! $52!!! I said What? And the lady had the nerve to say, "Yes it's an extra large 18". Now, I know what a 16" pizza looks like and it was a little less than 16". Regardless, if it were a 20" pizza $52 for a pizza without gold flakes or Diamond dust on it is absurd. I was quite hungry so I sucked it up and asked for a slice special. They charged me $17.54 for two, flat dough, pizza slices. He rolled the dough out with a roller, no hand tossing. And they reheated two, pre cooked slices that we split 10 minutes ago. The dough tasted like white play-doh and it was not even heated. Do not accept that this is your nightly pizza place after partying in Gaslamp. $52 for a play-doh pizza should be illegal. I chose this place because it was open until midnight. Every other place was closed. Very delicious pepperoni pizza!!!! I ordered the pizza at 11pm, and it was delivered to the Marriott in little Italy at 11:40. I used slice for the delivery. The app did not update, so at 11:50 it looked like the pizza still had not been delivered. The total was $65.55. I did pay for extra cheese but they forgot to add it. read more

The first day I moved here, I decided to try this place out since it's literally on my street and I was not disappointed. It's a small shop, with a few stools and tables outside so I always order to go and the pizza is consistently delicious. This is a hole in the wall place. Nothing fancy but great for a quick dinner or a late night snack after drinking Opens at 5pm-2am! The owner is a really nice guy and owns it with his wife. I got a slice of cheese pizza the first night and it was really good, I wanted more lol. So came back the next night for a slice of combo. My friend and I wandered in to this spot last at night around 10:30pm after leaving a bar across the street. I would have loved to get a slice of pizza but they didn't have any gluten free options. Don't go there as a young woman unless you want to be molested before you even enter the door. I visited this place on 4/12 and outside there were three middle age middle eastern guys just hanging out. Shortly after we entered the door two young women (who were finishing their night of partying) came looking to get a slice of pizza. Before they could even enter the door they were absolutely bombarded by these three guys, not even letting them in the door unless they talked to them first. I don't know if the owner of this place knows who these guys are, but they were obviously not drunk, and were looking to take advantage of the women who come to get pizza late at night after partying with friends. Eventually they got to order their pizza and after they sat down they were absolutely hounded by these men relentlessly and they were obviously very uncomfortable with the situation. This was taking place on my 10 feet from the workers behind the counter and it wasn't packed so I don't know if these guys are people who come here to poach the drunk young women every weekend or what. Very disgusting thing to witness. In fact me and my group of friends broke up an interaction with another patron who was very obviously trying to take advantage of a young woman walking by. It ended in a small altercation and with to that guy running away calling us assholes. Beware of this place late at night. 100%. The pizza was okay as long as you don't mind being sexually assaulted while you eat it. read more
