Inside The Foodery by Rovino there's a pizza maker known as "Pandemic" Pizza, quite the clever name indeed. Not only do they have clever name, but they also make some tasty pizza. I had them make me the Sausage and Leek pizza for $16. It was a very good pizza and I loved the combination of homemade sausage and leeks. The sausage was good, but it was a little over salted in my opinion. I say, less salt and more natural flavors of the pork and herbs. The sauce was good. It was nicely balance with some acidity and sweetness. It was well seasoned too. The leeks were good and the cheese was fantastic. I was a fan of the Neapolitan crust. It offered a light crispy edge but a very soft and gentle inside. It had very good flavor. Service was upbeat and friendly. The pizza here is very good, thin crust pizza. However 2 pizzas are $30+.. and each pizza is essentially a personal pizza. A little pricey, but the quality is very good. 2 pizzas on a Friday night took 45 minutes to prepare. I was able to check in on yelp and get a 10% discount. We had a pepperoni and sausage/fennel pizza. Toppings were moderate. You can tell everything is homemade from the suave to the dough. It wasn't quite apparent to me where Pandemic Pizza was posted up within the place, but any employee will be happy to assist you. You order at the register and then wait. There's seating inside or you can take out when your order is ready. These guys donate a portion of every purchase to a different charity each week, so that's a nice little touch. Pizza was super flavorful and left me wanting to go back again ASAP! I tried the Postponed Wedding (tomato sauce, mozzarella, calabrese, pineapple, chiles and ranch). I appreciate the concept but this was some of the worst pizza I've ever had. Yesterday I ordered a margarita, a pepperoni, and a French Onion Pizza to be picked up at 6. I arrived early at around 5:50 so I could pick up some other items from Rovino. I got my pizzas went to my car and immediately dove into the French onion one because I was starving, and it sounded so good. It was more of a thin cracker type crust and it was barely warm. I could tell it had been sitting around a while. The crust was so chewy that after the first piece, I couldn't eat another piece for a while because my jaw hurt after. I don't have jaw problems. Anyway I was picking up the pizzas because I was getting some new tattoo work and I brought the other pizzas to my tattoo artist place to share. Nobody was impressed. The margarita one to me was the only edible one because it had more moisture so the crust wasn't hard as the Rock. Stopped by to get the Garlic Knots and Pandemic Wings from Pandemic Pizza today. The ordering of food is so efficient, and I got my to-go order to take home. The wings are decadent and have plenty of Parmesan. They were great dipping into the pizza sauce. The wings were an absolutely hit in our house. They have a delicious brown sugar and cayenne seasoning, and are fried until they are golden brown. There are 12 in the order, but clearly I will have to get two orders next time. read more

The balance between toppings was perfect and the crust was thing... which equals some of the most perfect Neapolitan style pizza you could ever have! Instagram vs reality Today I saw this Mac and cheese pizza advertised on my Instagram and absolutely had to have it. Drove 20 minutes, paid $20 (for a 6 slice pizza) and when I made it home I thought they gave me the wrong pizza. Put them I looked closer and noticed, nope, it's the correct pizza they just did the absolute bare minimum. There was about 1-2 noodles per slice, hardly a Mac and cheese pizza. I've never been to a pizza shop offering pasta pizza that didn't even really have pasta on the pizza. As you can see on their Instagram post, the pizza is loaded with noodles which is not unheard of, I've had similar slices from other shops in the past, but if you look at the reality, this pizza could hardly be considered a Mac and cheese pizza. The one bite I had that had noodles on it was really good and the rest of the pizza was mediocre. The other day we ordered a normal margarita slice and it was also just ok. It was a bit salty but it was doable I guess. But this pizza was severely falsely advertised so I just had to share. read more

I could tell from the second I walked into this adorable Italian market that the experience was going to be great. The staff was super friendly, and the set up was just so cute. We ordered the Postponed wedding pizza, and as a serious pizza lover, I can honestly say it was probably the best pizza I have EVER had - the combo of sweet and spicy was delicious. If you're an adventurous (even semi adventurous) orderer, I would highly recommend you go for this pizza. I hate leaving negative reviews. I ordered a Margherita pizza and Pandemic Wings from Uber Eats. The pizza was so so so so soggy! The saddest and limpest of pizzas... AND there was absolutely no basil on it! Not a single leaf. A tomato & cheese pizza is what I received. I was really disappointed. DO NOT ORDER THE MARGHERITA. Maybe this is where I went wrong. I will say that the Pandemic Wings were good. They aren't buffalo wings. They're crunchy and spicy. It was just okay. They also don't really know what to do when you ask for plates, napkins, and eating utensils and stuff but I chalked that up to being new. The pizza at their Storyhousespirit pop up was utterly disgusting. They changed their dough recipe. It NOT taste like it used to. It now tastes like cardboard with salt on top and burned black edges. So sad, our friends (one of which is a food editor and blogger for a major magazine) and I wanted to support their pop up and it's gone down the drain. Do not come here. They don't stand behind their product, they don't care, overcharging for cardboard salt for what they call "incredible pizza". The manager told us to F*** ***. This pizza is absolutely nuts. Literally when visiting San Diego it's a staple you have to try out. I've been down for 2 weeks and heard about it from a friend. He brought it over (60 minute wait from oven to mouth), and it was so damn good. Also their truffle ranch is some of the best ranch I've had for a long time. Came down to San Diego for a weekend getaway and saw a picture of the pizza from here from a San Diego best foods insta. Just from the pictures alone it looked amazing so we decided to give it a go and let me tell you, it surpassed our expectations.
