Washer Dryer combo, and one day, the washer would not start up anymore. We gave the folks at Parkside a call, and they came out the next day on time to evaluate the issue. It turned out that the circuit board was no good anymore. Even though the circuit board for our machine was no longer in production and no longer in stock at the manufacturer they were able to find me a direct replacement board to complete the repair. Way to go! Its been a few years now since this repair, but our washer/dryer has been happy again ever since! Update: We just called them up for a repair for a gas stove, and since they don't repair gas stoves (only electric ones and most all kinds of washer/dryers), they referred me to another trusted company for that. Verdict: Great folks all. It is so refreshing to have such nice folks out there like Parkside Appliance to help us solve our once-in-a-blue-moon appliance repairs! Highly Recommended!

Rick helped me order the correct one direct from the manufacturer's (Sears/LG) website, and two days after the part arrived, Rick was back to attach it. Rick did not recharge me for the service fee on this second visit, which was extremely generous. Before calling Parkside, I had read the raving reviews and I wanted to add mine too. What a great experience! And what a relief to have the dryer back working the way it should!

Later, I had another problem as the fridge started making an odd noise. Initially, Vadym suspected it was the compressor fan, but the issue persisted. This issue had actually been lingering for a long time, I had at least four or five other companies came to diagnose the noise issue, each offering different quick opinions--some barely inspected it and suggested immediate part replacements, others insisted the fridge needed to be pulled out (which is a big job for a built-in unit) and fix from the back of the fridge. But none felt confident, they all rushed to conclusions without a proper diagnosis. Vadym stood out by taking the time. He thoroughly examined the fridge and, when the issue persisted, he consulted his network instead of guessing. Eventually, he figured out the noise was caused by the condenser pipe and water pipe being too close, which caused vibration when the compressor kicked in. In the end, he fixed it. What I truly appreciated was his commitment, he didn't rush to a quick guess; he invested time, asked for input, and returned until it was resolved. I would highly recommend Vadym and Metro Appliance to others.

I have a dual GE Café gas oven/range, and the larger oven stopped working. I called Top Repair and…read morea tech came out to assess it -- turned out the igniter needed to be replaced. He didn't have the part on hand, so I paid for the part and the service call. He estimated 7-10 business days, but they got it in just 3, so my oven was back up and running in less than a week. After he installed the igniter, we ran a test on all the functions and discovered the convection wasn't working. He pulled the stove out, ran a diagnostic, and showed me that the control board was burnt out and not getting power. Replacing it would run $600, so I chose to hold off since the oven itself works fine and I rarely use the convection feature but I'll definitely be calling them back when I'm ready, because a new range runs about $4K and that's not a conversation I want to have right now. Total cost for the igniter repair was $300. The tech was knowledgeable, efficient, and got the job done without any drama. I highly recommend Top Repair they'll get you up and running again without breaking the bank, and the quality of work is top notch.

It's usually something that you need right away, but you don't want to spend unnecessarily. Top Repair confidently walked me through the whole process. They have a very tightly organized customer service response, they use the technology well to respond to quote requests and information calls quickly. Then, for a standard fee, they will come and assess the issue, and then that whole fee goes toward paying for the repair if you choose to use them. The person who came out was the owner, Bagy (BAH-gee). He was amazing. Quickly understood the problem, quoted me the cost of parts and repair, ordered the part and came 2 days later and finished the job quickly. Very calm, cool, and direct about everything. Later, a further issue came up (something we both feared might happen) and he came and did another assessment, fixed some programming as part of the visit, gave me really good options and, if the problem persists, I can call him back, he knows what needs to be done and today's consultation fee still applies to the final job! These guys will not play with you. They will figure out the issue, get it fixed, and be done quickly and neatly. They're in my speed dial now. It's so nice to have someone that I can call regularly for a whole house full of issues.

Homewise (formerly Airport Appliance) comes through again with exceptional local service!…read more We have bought many appliances from Airport Appliance in the past--which is now Homewise. I was initially a bit worried that the business had been absorbed into a national chain, but it turned out to be just a name change with the same great local ownership. Most recently, our wall oven went dead on the 4th of July. We called Homewise and spoke with Lyla Vo, who was fantastic at advising us on replacement options. While working with her, we also decided to replace our 15-year-old dishwasher to take advantage of a two-item extra rebate! Over the years, we've tried other options in the area, but Homewise strikes the perfect balance: Vs. High-End Local Outfits: Higher-end stores seem bothered if you aren't remodeling an entire kitchen. Even though we'd bought from them before, they lacked interest when we only needed a single replacement item. Vs. Big National DIY Chains: Big-box stores are a headache. Twice, their installers walked out refusing to complete the job due to minor water, power, or circuit compliance issues. While those may have been on our end due to older coding, there was zero flexibility or real-time planning--they are bound strictly by corporate liability rules and won't work with you on the spot. Plus, you're basically dealing with a website, not a human. Why Homewise Wins: Even though we handled everything over the phone with Lyla, the entire experience was seamless. When we had follow-up questions, Lyla even responded from her phone after her shift was over! That kind of personal, above-and-beyond care is rare. On top of that, the installation process was super smooth, and they strictly honored their 4-hour delivery window. Homewise delivers the exact feel of working with a reliable, friendly neighborhood salesperson. Next time an appliance needs replacing, we're heading straight back to them. Please keep supporting local businesses like this one!

Zero stars Homewise…read moreAppliance: Buyer beware -- apparently their 48-hour damage policy means nothing I spent nearly $4,000 on a new washer and dryer from Homewise Appliance, and their handling of a damaged washer has been absolutely unacceptable. Homewise tells customers they have 48 hours after delivery to report cosmetic damage. I discovered a large crack in the washer door approximately 15 MINUTES after the installers left. I immediately called Homewise and sent photographs documenting the damage. Homewise is now claiming I must have damaged the washer myself because their installers took a photo before leaving in which the crack isn't visible. There is a very simple explanation: the washer door is highly reflective, and the crack is extremely difficult to see in a normal photograph because of the reflection. When I photographed it, I specifically shined a light from behind the door, which made the crack clearly visible. The fact that a crack doesn't show up in a poorly lit photograph of a reflective surface is obviously not proof that the crack wasn't already there. Think about the timeline: Homewise delivered and installed the washer. Their installers left. Within approximately 15 minutes, I discovered the crack, called Homewise and documented it with photos. The machine hadn't even been used. Yet rather than stand behind the nearly $4,000 purchase and honor their own 48-hour damage-reporting policy, Homewise decided the appropriate response was to accuse their customer of damaging a brand-new appliance within minutes of delivery. To make matters worse, I have now spent five days repeatedly calling, getting the runaround and trying unsuccessfully to get someone in management to take responsibility and resolve this. If Homewise can deny a damage claim reported 15 minutes after installation simply because the damage wasn't visible in the installer's reflective photo, then what exactly is the purpose of their 48-hour damage policy? I am asking Homewise management to review this situation, replace the damaged washer door/appliance at no cost to me, and honor the policy they represented when I made my purchase. Until this is resolved, I would strongly caution anyone buying from Homewise: inspect every inch of your appliances before their installers walk out the door and photograph everything yourself. Apparently even reporting damage within minutes of delivery isn't enough for Homewise to stand behind what they sell. I will update this review if management steps in and resolves this appropriately.
